Ren'Py - The Shadow over Blackmore [v0.4.8] [Darktoz]

Tried it out but it's not my thing. It's all about femdom, futa and BDSM and that's it.

The writing and world building was really interesting. It's in this goth horror fantasy genre set in a contemporary setting. You can make certain story choices here or there and some can result in a bad end.

There's a stats system that looked interesting, but at this point not much is being done with it.

The story is about the MC trying to survive or escape as he's trapped in Blackmore, and the stats system implied a way to develop powers to fight back but there's nothing in the story right now that lets you do that.

The renders are ok. The designs mostly fit with the setting and writing, but way too much bdsm latex dom stuff going on and it's sort of ridiculous why ancient dark ritual societies would wear latex gimp suits.

The animations aren't so great, but I guess it's mostly focused on the fetish aspect and targeting a specific audience for this.

i gvie the game 5 stars. the developer remained true towards the futa content. i love that he added BBC futa, however i still feel that the animations in the game are lacking.
the newest update was worth the wait, and I'm looking foreword to future updates and i am now a patreon on Darkotz page. this website exposed me to drakotz patreon which is a plus.

lastly, compared to Darktoz earlier games, this one is much much better, the quality has gone up very much and the reliance on simple story telling engine is all that is needed to deliver a great game.

If female domination isn't your thing and you think you need to have a dominant path for the mc as well, you should avoid it. So far you can skip almost all scenes but you will end up skipping 80 percent of the game and just playing it for the story. And who plays NSFW games for the story?

I just found out about this game. Was searching for new NTR titles and this popped up. I gave it a try and was positively surprised with Blackmore.

+The biggest positive quality of the game is the first contact with it. We are being introduced to interesting individuals without any rush, with our curiosity being feed at an enjoyable pace.

+The dev managed to flesh them all out within the small compact of his project. We aren't being feed absurd amount of dialog and lore to chew through when talking with them. We quickly get to know them, what drives them in Blackmore and more.
+All the characters are very well designed aesthetically.
This is important since the whole game spins itself around us being tormented by those characters. So it is important for the player to be attracted towards them during the heavy femdom scenes.
-Unfortunately we come to the glum side of the game. The repetitiveness of some scenes. There's so much whipping, flogging,smothering dialog I can tolerate.
You can see that clearly in the Sophia scene. She just treats us as a sound board and keeps repeating herself. That scene is badly written and boring at that point.
-Most of the BDSM scenes do not take the MC into consideration. It's all about the girls' needs. What the hell was that ashtray scene ? They just kept sitting. They could have teased the MC in some kinky way. Show some erotic lingerie. Lead him on. Some denial play etc. Nothing.
-I have no idea what the hell was that BB Monroe scene with the bunny...Loved her costume and pantyhose but other then that...hard pass.(It would have been better for the MC to also wear a leotard and pantyhose...)
-Let's talk about the elephant in the room. No NTR or crossdressing.
The dev concetrated on other aspects to build up the atmospehre of the city and the storyline.
I understand the need of the Bad Ending scenes. Yet he could put more varied scenes. When watching the same animation over and over...I don't want to read the same dialog for the tenth time. Include a second female character or build deeper relationships. Have the MC also voice his concerns , needs, express what he likes about the situation. Let us feel how those hot babes fight for the MC!
-IT'S LITERALLY ABSURD. FUTAS EVERYWHERE, YET NO NTR, IMPREGNATION TEASE ETC. If i was the dev i would have every female character impregnated by a futa and have the MC pay alimony for the kids. Purgatory hell right there.

+As a side note I just want to mention the gang bang party. It wasn't bad. Especially when the MC got it from the femboi. There could have been more pillow talk between MC and the femboi. Or include a female character next time.
-It's like the MC doesn't have a dick...Give the man some sex from time to time with a lead female character...And Bellatrix could have at least shown her tits in the last scene...

You are wondering what is my problem right? Take notice that the majority of the positive reviews...are one year old! The dev hasn't released any content for a whole year! When it that dawned on me i was WTF...I found out he is working on two projects at the same time. 0.3.3 took him 7 months or so.
+This update is really big. It is really satisfying to play it...yet some scenes feel like bad apples...
The set is staged for more, but if the dev intends to release one update per year...Well...those scenes better be haymakers...

"The Shadow over Blackmore" is a captivating and atmospheric game that immerses players in a dark and mysterious world. This is one of the most unusual porn games I've ever played. Liked it a lot, and the graphics is top notch. The game is mostly based on female over male domination, maybe it lacks female slaves as well, but interesting overall.

The ending was rather abrupt. I suppose it's a low version number so it's a work-in-progress.

Many of the choices aren't really that - you're sort of railroaded into picking some particular choices.

If you're into extreme femdom then maybe you'll be more into it than I was.

Loved it, they made it in Renpy unlike previous Darktoz game which is a big plus, just like previous games, the animations, sound effects, character modelling is commendable. Erotic femdom scenes didn't disappoint me at all , there are choices to avoid certain fetishes that one might dislike.

The story is well centred around an imaginary town which gives horror vibes, women are initially very respectful before you agree to let them dominate you. I found it to be really entertaining and fap-worthy, it would certainly be more fun to play when the game is completed as there are so many options and so many characters.

This is the best Vampire the Masquerade/World of Darkness VN. By far. And it's not even a VtM/WoD VN. If that doesn't tell you something, nothing will.

Jokes aside this game is nearly flawless so far. Femdom is not my favorite kink but I enjoyed every second of the game. The world, the story, the dark and eerie theme, the characters, the writing, the visuals, the music, everything is top-notch. This level of quality is probably unprecedented for these type of games (porn VN with extreme kinks). I have minor complaints only (eg. player stats could be better and some kind of information about other characters + stats would be great).

I really hope the author will keep up with the quality. This is really legend in the making!

I was never a fan of Darktoz games, but this game is something else. It doesn't have much content at the moment, but the present content is ultra hot. The visuals are much better than in previous Darktoz games and the scenes made my dick pierce the ceiling of my apartment. The setting and the story are awesome, as a hardcore VtM fan I was very delighted. Also, I'm glad Darktoz switched from shitty RPG Maker to Ren'Py. I hope the next updates will provide us perverts with lots of quality content.
Overall, this game is a joy for all perverts in the world and it deserves 6/5.

This game is about a dude who wakes up in this weird dark place called Blackmore with no memory. As he progresses he will meet various kinky people who are their own agendas and goals. While there is this whole mystery not just about the people living there but also the location and all things around him.

For you who don't know Darktoz's games, they are all about femdom and usually leaning towards more of the brutal BDSM parts. This game seems to have more softer women and manipulation so far, and I really like it!

+Story is intriguing, though this is only the beginning, and I'm positive it will be worthwhile throughout the whole game.
+Graphics/renders as you can see are top notch!
+Amazing sex scenes / fap material.
The Women all have their own set of personality and kinks.
+Futa is optional, which I approve! I could be wrong but I don't think you miss out on any scenes, it may be a strap-on instead or pussy licking, which is a huge plus, at least to me.
I hope Darktoz will continue building this game even after it's done or start Shadow over Blackmore 2 right away! This game is already so damn good and it's just going to get better, I have no doubts about that.

- Can't think of any as of right now, but I know there was something I wanted improved. Only real minuses you'll find is that you wish all women had your personal kinks. That just proves how well made they are!
