Right I misunderstood your question then. Yes you can be friends with the other NPCs. It's not an all or nothing thing. And you can reach varying levels of friendship too.

I really like Witchking Art and was kind of dissapointed to not have Harem at first glance, and then i remembered than what is worth with girls is not ass nor tits, it's the soul.
Ah, yeah I should probably disable buttons when the ! has been clicked. Not sure on the Succubus, we haven't discussed it, it would only be a minor cameo if so since there are a lot of NPCs we want to add in.

Just to clarify then, you weren't going to play the game until it had been finished when this theoretically harem would have taken place? Or am I misunderstanding something?

No I have played 0.1 and 0.2 and just now saw that harem will not happen. I was playing because I thought at the end I could get the ending I would want which is harem. Since there is no harem route I will have to play the game through (or at least certain choices) multiple times just to see everything I want to see which is just not appealing to me. Art is great and gameplay is different then the norm which is good, however if I know the ending/routes are not going to have harem as at least one of the choices then I am less excited to continue playing.
To be honest, I was going to bug Nergal with whether or not they were going to finish off Urband Demons but that question has been answered, thank you for that, I am intrigued by this game, I do want to wait until there is more content to enjoy but that is simply due to the fact I don't want to tease myself with it and then feel sad but I can't have more, like having a really nice pizza but not being able to finish it in one go haha XD but very much looking forward to seeing your progress, I'm glad you're back and forget all the people that are being salty about how long it took for updates to come out, end of the day, you'll make what you want at a pace that is defined by you and you alone to ensure that your passion and quality towards the project doesn't dwindle, I wish you all the best Nergal and good luckm I'm sure we're in for a wild ride *wink*.
First let me say, I don't want to pile on and ultimately think you should make the game you want to make. I am just a harem fan who is disappointed by the vast majority of harem games out there so I'm going to use this opportunity to vent a little because one particular point you keep making struck a chord with me.
You keep citing Catherine and Malaena as your examples of two characters whose personalities wouldn't fit a harem game. But those are the exact two characters who in the 0.1 demo led me to believe this might be an actual good harem game.
The thing about the harem fantasy that most western devs don't seem to get is that it's not just about the MC sticking his dick into literally everything, but it is about making as many characters as possible happy; and not just with the MC but with each other.
The reason Catherine and Malaena led me to believe that is what was going to happen was that they are the two characters (besides Stacy) who most express their enthusiasm for their shipmates as not just work partners but a family. They talk about how much they care about the others and how they have helped each other. This, to me, is one of the most straightforward paths into the harem fantasy there is.
(This is a porn game, 99% of your audience wouldn't bat an eye at all of the female characters being bisexual.)
Obviously this doesn't extend to all characters. I would absolutely not expect the Red Queen, for example, to join a harem as that doesn't suit her personality at all. She doesn't express interest in any of the characters as anything other than pawns. Likely none of the side/non-crew characters would be suitable.
But that's not the case for Catherine and Malaena.
But it seems like western devs' view romance as solely for monogamy and polyamory is just about fucking and that's a consistent disappoint for me across most of the games I've played on this site.
Again, I wish you success in making the game you want to make and hope you have success with it. Just venting.

I mean I can kind of answer your points using your own post. Let me demonstrate:

It's not in their personality to sleep with people who they consider family.

Again it's forcing something on a character that would go against their personality in order to force in this a harem setting. Nothing is more boner killing (for me) than a well developed character acting out of character in order to force a scenario happening.
