It's not false it's actually what happened to me, it crashes when trying to load from the previous version with the error that the script is incompatible. I don't want to play it all again for very little new content, even more if I'm not sure it will keep happening on every single new update... It's best just to wait, in my opinion.

The win10 thing is a renpy issue actually. The last released renpy runtime just doesn't support <win10 anymore

I think renpy 8.3.7 was the last version that supported windows 7 so any game using a newer version of renpy, will not work on win7.
