1. If you had read the introduction and explanations from the beginning of the game, all the items you can interact with are indicated by the "exclamation bubble" animation (this will be replaced by an arrow later) and it seems to me that the bag is very conspicuous in the middle of the grass and that the introduction ends with Sweetie telling you not to forget to pick it up otherwise you won't have access to your inventory. I find that putting stars everywhere is ugly, especially if their location has been given and the cave has been mapped to directly see the items you can pick up.
Unfortunately, the bag and Sweetie's dialogue is very, very easy to miss, particularly in the translated version the majority of your playerbase is using. That's why you're still having problems with this. It's kinda off to the side and behind a gravestone, so if you doubleclick by accident or just aren't paying full attention you'll miss it quite easily. It's brown and blends very well with the greens and browns of the forest.
And the game does NOT tell you that all the items you can interact with are indicated by the arrow - in fact, it tells you the opposite. That the indicated things are not all that can be interacted with. In another piece of easily skipped dialogue.
My point is that it's too easy to skip this vital information. Reconstituting the tutorial section to disallow the player from moving on until they get it is
important.
2. When you enter the cave for the 1st time, there is an explanation of each object you can interact with (2nd introduction with also the "exclamation bubble" animation to indicate them). There's also an explanation about the potion system to increase skills (+ hint from the book with all the explanations if you ever forget how it works and it also explains that it increases lock picking and spying).
I found that soon after making the post. Thank you for responding to the question. I can say that the potion explaination interacts poorly with the translator; just in general it's difficult to understand.
It's also very slow, but I already said that.
3. I have already explained that the monster system will be modified, that new monsters will be added and they will be sorted to see them in the order of encounter in the bestiary (book received in the introduction by Sweetie) but that this will be done later because I will have to change the whole drop system that works with a special event (everything must be changed at the same time otherwise there will be a huge bug in the victory reward). In addition, it is also explained in the introduction that droplets can be given to the Wish Crystal in exchange for XP (this allows you to be more powerful faster especially since 1droplet gives 10xp).
Well, I'm sorry I missed that you already had plans for that.
I will point out that the crystal exchange was accounted for.
Even turning in droplets, the player grows too slowly. That's my point. For a very long time you only get 1 droplet per expedition, which means 15 xp total (10 from the crystal exchange, 5 from the enemy dying).
4. Equipment can be purchased in the cave, see the 2nd introduction. There is only one set to buy and it can be upgraded if you find the forge. The boss of the 10th area is normally killed at LVL100 (not yet tested). The LVL max is 999. An 11th area will be added with a final boss that will give you something to make a wish (you can only have 1 and you will have to do the 10th and 11th area at the same time).
LVL 100 is an insanely high bar, though? I understand that the max is 999, but please understand that in order to reach level 100, you have to turn in
tens of thousands of drops. Which can only be collected one at a time, until you reach the third area, and less than 5 at a time until after that.
Assuming that Harold can collect, on average, 5 drops per trip (which is probably an overestimate), and you need 10,000 drops to reach level 100 (which is underestimating):
10,000 / 5 = 2,000 trips
That's crazy. It needs to be much lower. 2000 trips? You're asking me to put more time into your game than I did into Skyrim!
5. XP and drop are changed by 1 skill and when that skill reaches certain levels, everything is multiplied. When this skill is maxed out, XP and droplets are multiplied by 5. Area 1 => monsters give 5 droplets and 25xp / area 10 => *10 compared to area 1 *bonus (if *5 = 50 droplets and 1250xp).
This is not made evident. You can find the luck skill in the menus, if you dig, but nowhere does it say it multiplies by 5. And the player will not have a high amount of luck until several hours into play - so it isn't relevant anyway.
I could cheat to increase my luck. In fact, I probably will. However, that is not a solution. The game is not playable at the introduction, which is a very big problem. All the mid-game grind reductions are meaningless if nobody plays long enough to get them.
6. You can be stronger by earning bonuses. Going to the gym gives a physical damage bonus, and gaining intelligence gives magic damage to spells that companions teach you (see Sweetie's explanation of companions before Souls are unlocked).
Going to the gym is also very slow, as it takes a number of trips to increase Harold to the point that it changes battle mechanics.
Likewise, companions are not reached until quite deep into the dungeon. In fact even cheating I have not been able to delve deep enough to access them. This means they aren't useful for what I'm really trying to ask of you.
7. The game is not finished and for now, I'm working on adding sexual content but I still have to prepare the new potions with monster hair, eyes and teeth because they are less used (less random encounters and monster drop parts *2).
Adding new content is good, but please understand that it's quite meaningless if nobody can reach the content.
Especially since it's real porn content, which means you're competing with the pornhub search engine. This can definitely be done, but right now there's very little reason for me to play your game instead of just looking up Riley Reid on XHamster; especially since it would take hours to access the content in the game versus the minutes of searching for that specific video on a site.
8. The game has been created with as little dialogue as possible for people who prefer action to reading. You just have to read the introduction to know how the game works and read all little explanation the NPCs give, otherwise you'll be lost.
This is fine, but there is a balance. I admit, the story is probably low priority compared to other complaints, but there are ways to have an engaging story and MC without lots of dialogue.
9. If you want to play with 2 hands, the game works with the Xbox PC controller and I give the keys in the introduction (I haven't tested the other controllers). If you prefer the keyboard, it can be configured in the options so you can choose between 1 or 2 hands. But otherwise the game works very well just by using the mouse (there is just no shortcut for the map and smartphone but they are in the inventory).
You misunderstand the point. I was not complaining about the controls. My apologies for being unclear, even through what I assume is a translator.
My point is that you should expect the player to skip everything until boobs appear. Players are very dumb. I am very dumb. We are monkeys who skip until boobs appear. I suggested adding boobs because when the boobs appear, then the monkey calms down and skips less. It also allows the dumb player who did not look at the previews to decide they do not want to play the game, or maybe that this is their favorite game.
It is something I use often when I write myself. Always put the thing the game wants the player to feel the most at the beginning, especially with a simple story. If the game wants the player to enjoy boobs, put boobs at the beginning. If the game wants the player to feel like they are strong, make tutorial enemies weak. If the game wants the player to be scared, put a jumpscare. Comedy games should begin with jokes. Very standard practice.
10. The first 4 monsters in the game (not including the 1st boss) are the basic Rpgmaker monsters and these have been modified to make them weaker. Also, if you go to town to earn money to buy equipment and earn permanent bonuses, they will be even weaker. Remember, the game starts by saying that the hero is a normal person but lonely, friendless, and abused every day until... He finds himself facing magical creatures and it's only natural that he prepares to face them. There is also a pharmacy for potions and healing.
I understand that Harold is meant to be a normal person. However, this is a game. Being a fat loser who is eaten by bats is... Not fun.
You already said you are modifying the monsters. This is good. But the strength of the monsters is not relevant, only how strong the monster is compared to Harold.
If the monster is weak, and Harold is weak, then the monster is as strong as Harold. It is an even fight. This is not what is wanted for the first level of the first dungeon. This makes the monsters feel strong. Do not look at numbers. Look at relationships. How many HP does Harold have? How many HP does bat take away when it hits Harold? How many hits kills Harold? How many hits kills bat?
Numbers do not mean anything. Only in relation to others do they find meaning.
11. All NPCs (except Sabrina for now) can be spied on from the start of the game and some can be seen masturbating. In V0.18, I added extra spy scenes that only unlock if they have 50 corruption points in which they masturbate. All other NPCs will be added afterwards with the same condition. Check out the changelog to find out.
I attempted to spy many times on Piper and Elsa in the bathroom. I saved at the bed and reloaded many times. I was not able to spy on them until I drank many potions of vision.
Potions take 250 drops. This is a lot for new players. If I did not cheat, I would not have had the drops to make potions, and spying on family would have been impossible.
I may have forgotten to answer something but you can always contact me or check out my Webador page to look at the GameFaq which gives all the explanations about the game. Just in case for V0.18, the amount of droplets for recipes has been decreased and the bosses all give 1 free potion the first 10 times you kill them each (random potion without the corruption potion).
This is good to hear. I am glad you take advice well.
I do not think that the bosses will help, though. I do not think any players are getting to the bosses legitimately. The problems become too big before that.
