I am just getting started under this name, and at most a few days out from the release of my game, which I intend to post here.

Any tips for new devs before they release their first game? Anything I should think about outside of the rules in Game Uploading Rules?

Expect more negative than positive feedback, don't let it encourage you.
Especially since you apparently have AI in your game you will have to face a lot of hate. Nowadays on F95zone people regularly create new threads about how evil and bad AI is and that F95 should ban it (which won't happen).

Also, don't expect to get an actual income from it.
