Because the save have been edited by an external tool that keep the "security key", but haven't "tagged" the values, making the save looks like corrupted.
This only happens with certain games. Most work fine after being edited. How do I fix it or get around it?

I'm not grumpy, I'm just coded that way.

I wonder, could it be because it's only the twos last version of Ren'Py that use this security ?

There's a fix, that more or less works, somewhere in one of the many "hey Ren'Py save do not works anymore" threads here. But personally I'll no advocate for it, because I'm not for breaking the only barrier between a secure computer and a totally compromised one.

Learn how to use the console, there's also many thread addressing this, and stop editing the save, there's no need for this.

-Go to your tokens folder.
So on windows it is under users/"yourPCusername"/appdata/roaming/renpy/tokens
-Open the "security-keys.txt file.
-Delete the key strings under "singing-key" and "veryifying-Key".
(All that should be in the text file then is "signing-key" and on the next line down, "veryifying-key")
-Close the text file, then right click it and go to properties.
-Change the text file to read only.
CLose that and restart the game.
Viola! now the save works.
