It's genuinely comical at this point. I've never seen a Dev so determined to bomb his reputation this much before, by chain cancelling his plans and games.

He should just admit he messed up and just commit to something, I don't know what his Patreon feedback was but in here most people were telling him it was a bad idea, but he still decided to continue on.

Never quit your stable job to go full-time for this until you are an established developer, it's not going to work unless it's such a low wage job that it doesn't matter, he's not the first to do this, and I think for most of them it has ended badly.

Either commit to something, anything and build from there, or just give it up, at this point I am not too optimistic for any project of his.

After an affair lands her mother in danger of execution, Lady Patience Sharington enlists the help of sailor Lawson Winthrope (MC) to help her find the treasure of the once infamous pirate legend, Captain Zacharias Tiderunner in order to pay off her mother’s ransom.

So basically we would get the sequel to Tides of succession without the original ever finishing

I guess I should be glad that I only had this on my list of games potentially to play. I have enough games that end up abandoned; I don't really need to add any others.

Another game from this developer? Seriously, why? I think his work is incredible; the guy is talented. Some developers with large audiences should learn from him. He works in such a short time and manages to produce an entire AVN game from scratch, while some take years to release an update. Aside from the ideas Tak possesses and the fact that I think we'll never see a single finished game from him, the guy is talented, but if he continues like this, people will abandon him.

absolutely. for those who put Succession on their backlog, like me, the dev already lost me. Add to that the "Abandoned" tag on f95, that impacts the dev's credibility a lot cuz f95 excels in discovery.

Others have pointed out some negatives to your approach, I'd like to point out something else thou, which comes from 30+ years of work, changes of career are always risky, said risks can be mitigated (to a degree).

A way NOT to mitigate the risks thou is to take a break (1 month long holidays) right after starting a new chapter of your working life/career.
Everyone needs breaks especially to clean up their minds and (re)build "stamina", but said breaks have to be taken BEFORE the new project/life phase starts, not right after its beginning.

As an example you "promised" 2k renders for every update and an update every 2 months, your first month was 285, no biggie issues happen and the start is always rocky, your second month thou just ended and you are going on holidays, the first update will be in January, so possibly 4 months after you started working on it?

You are already 2 months late on a (self imposed, but publicized) 2 months deadline, working on your own/self employment doesn't mean you can be more relaxed on deadlines, quite the opposite, as nobody will pick up your slack, unlike let's say in an office or team.

Best of luck to you TakMycket , I really wish you the best (because I like when creatives succeed) but this is starting to look like a disaster (for you) waiting to happen.

Not that it matters. But when he announced that 2 months deadlines, he also mentioned his vacation. So there's nothing that was announced that is "late".

Yes indeed but that was yesterday my friend, today is a new day with new ideas and opinions. Pirate avns lacked sexappeal and apparently thats not the case anymore today! Its a good day!

And yes it invalidates everything he said about why he abandoned ToS and it doesnt make a lot of sense why he just doesnt continue that instead of doing another pirate story now ...

The difference is, its gonna be (today, we dont know about tomorrow) more like a short story so like the total opposite of the planned 3 avn epos ToS

This quite honestly looks like someone spiralling towards disaster over a failure to commit to a project until completion. I also genuinely do not trust a single word that comes out of his mouth in terms of delivering "what people want", because what a majority of us wanted was for ToS to be finished.
