Oh look, someone is trying to be witty and utterly failing at it.

Now let's be honest about how youtube actually works, shall we. You show an interest in one type of video one time, and suddenly it's all up in your face, then out of curiosity I search out the whys and hows and find the answer.... And some how you think that has some greater meaning, like it's a mark of the illuminati. To be fair, I have watched several of those videos since, can't form a valid opinion if I don't know what's actually happening. Unlike some people.

A few years back I watched a video by AquaFPS, dude was funny as hell. For the next year I got crap tons of videos from him and others like him by watching ONE FUCKING VIDEO. Same with the A.I. slop shit. The almighty algorithm is busted, you know it, I know it, everyone knows it, but you want to pretend to be witty and smart. Don't waste my time, you're not as smart as you think you are.

I rest my case.
Thanks for proving my point for me AGAIN, seems you missed it the first time:
You know that YouTube algorithm uses your watch history as a basis on what to recommend to you, right? So you are watching things which the algorithm thinks makes you interested in watching the content you are complaining about.
And you attempt to oppose this thought by saying:
Now let's be honest about how youtube actually works, shall we. You show an interest in one type of video one time, and suddenly it's all up in your face
and...
A few years back I watched a video by AquaFPS, dude was funny as hell. For the next year I got crap tons of videos from him and others like him by watching ONE FUCKING VIDEO.
Which confirms what I have stated and you seem to want to argue about...

And this only goes on further:
I don't watch the 'political crap' either, but I get a ton of videos from Ben what'sis'name and Amala Euko,,, whatever. Don't get me started on the feminist man hating crap I get a lot of as well. None of it I've ever clicked on.
Again, explained. You might not have clicked on "Ben what'sis'name and Amala Euko" or "feminist man hating crap" -- but you clicked on/watched videos that other people who have watched the same/similar videos who also watch "Ben what'sis'name and Amala Euko" or "feminist man hating crap". As such, because you seem to share interests with those people on some videos, the algorithm thinks you might like those others (and you must not have used the built-in options to tell YouTube you don't like them...)

It's like people don't know what algorithms are coded to look for and refine their output with... Oh wait.

Here, this combines the recent conversation exchange and what people may consider AI Slop in one video that has a lot of AI images/video while educating how the YouTube Algorithm works. I decided to do a search after the recent exchanges in this thread. How did I find it? I searched Google for "how does the youtube algorithm work for viewers" and picked the 4th result, because the first 3 and several after appeared to address the creators more than the viewers. By using common sense and being active in the query, I helped find something that best fits the interests of the potential viewer. Also, I did use an incognito tab to watch so as not to taint the education of my algorithm:

I hope this helps people to better understand how it works, why it works, and how not logging in or passively participating within the activity known as viewing videos can reduce the effectiveness of the algorithm for your very specific brand of weirdness.

Algos are there to keep you engaged. You might think it's broken, but it obviously works on a statistical level and generates ad revenue. If it wasn't effectively hooking the average person, it wouldn't be like this. So if you are a wise enlightened being that understands how algos are fucking corporate bullshit, then why would you engage with youtube while logged into your google account? I don't watch random stuff that google tells me to based on their analytics. I'm never logged in unless a specific video I want to watch is 18+. I'm using incognito. Have ad blocker. Every time I load youtube, it's fresh. I know what I want to watch or search for when I go on the site.

It's nice to find a reasonable person to talk this through with. Let me start by saying if any of this comes across as blunt it is not intended / meant that way and no offense is intend.

Ok, except you use 1 set of values with AI then completely change them when referencing daz / HS. However both of those are true for in both cases.

Many dev's have been using "pirated" (stolen) assets over the years, the "devalued" part is questionable but "no compensation or consent" is true here (for daz etc.). Even on this site there is a section to "share" assets for DAZ and other programs. So it does not only apply to AI usage.

E.g. https://f95zone.to/search/567370084...odes]=1&c[nodes][0]=96&c[title_only]=1&o=date

When people complain about AI games they always reference the extremes. Games made totally with AI or the AI is just added as is, however those are NOT the standard. If you go through the games on this site or other sites you will find that MOST of them have limited AI use or the AI is used to edit it or as you put it "put into it and modify them in other software" so again, both is true for both cases.

https://f95zone.to/threads/blackjack-hookups-v4-0-opsgaylover.273249/
https://f95zone.to/threads/lending-my-ntr-girlfriend-v0-16-3-phonegames.262744/

https://f95zone.to/threads/x-change-tm-life-v0-23-aphrodite.98897/

Those 6 examples are from the 1st page of results when using only the ai cg tag to search. I also included the search link at the top. It seems what you are basing that on is what you notice while browsing and not what you see when searching for only ai. I think this could be the cause of many of the misunderstandings about AI and AI games here.

As with the first part I addressed, the same can be said for all the other games. Just as an example:

https://f95zone.to/threads/dragon-incarnate-v0-1-6-agent-nova.268164/
https://f95zone.to/threads/dating-my-daughter-ch-1-4-v1-01-mrdots-games.597/
https://f95zone.to/threads/lewd-island-s2-day-13-v1-00-xred-games.7982/

True but as you can see from the 6 AI examples I linked, the same can be and is true for games that use AI.
e.g. furrmatch looks nothing like starmaker.

See the problem here is the cherry picking you are doing isn't in the way you think it is. Games exclusively AI are NOT the standard, they are the extreme. You are looking at ALL games that use AI based on a handful of games that ONLY use AI.

Those people are the ones who did not read the sites tag rules and list, which is listed 2 links above the sites general rules which everyone should have but most probably didn't read either.

https://f95zone.to/threads/tags-rules-and-list-updated-2024-11-14.10394/

AI CG [Used for CGs that has been generated by Artificial Intelligence technology. ]

Unfortunately you are right though and many will / do filter and just write them all off.

It's not just a moral thing, it's advocating for people to think of others. People who enjoy AI games, whether it is the art or the writing or the animations etc. they have just as much right to request their games and download and play them as anyone else. The site also does it's best to help people looking for those games and well as people wanting to avoid those games do so.

I apologize, that was my misunderstanding there. I mistook that for a call to discuss drawing a line by the community.

If it can be kept to discussing and voicing opinions that would be a good thing, the main issue arises when people stop discussing things and start trying to pass off opinions as facts and trying to hold the games and the discussions to irrational standards unfairly applied. This can been seen in almost all of the threads started on this topic.

Absolutely no hard feelings and again, if any of this came across as blunt, it was not meant to and no offense is intended.
Of course, be as blunt as you feel the need to be, I'm a big boy, I think I can handle it, so you don't need to hold any punches. I'm sure this is a topic you discussed many times before, probably with people less receptive so I can fully understand your frustration.

I personally like some AI games, they can be of real quality my main issue is with how AI was made, which we already discussed, low quality games that I believed were the most prevelent part of the AI "genre" and some, let's say consistencies that I will list below that personally devalue my personal experience a little.

For me a game filled with pirated assets with nothing build on it whatsoever would fall into the same catagery as an AI game used exclusively and only with AI. If you use that asset and build on it or modify it, for example in blender I'd see less issues, the same with a game made with AI, the more you get personally involved with it the better. So as you put it I was mostly pointing at the extremes, games purely and exclusively made with AI that I'd have no qualms being well eradicated, but now I know that would be hypocritical of me.

To the point I was refering to earlier concerning similar characters I will list some games to provide some clarity with my point. Yes there are characters in engines that are similar, but in these examples I feel like I'm looking at the same person. Myself as primarily a writer if you asked me to describe each of these blonde girls I'd probably say the same things while similar characters in let's say DAZ might look similar, but at least I notice some individuality even visualy that I can lean into. Might be just exposing my lack of talent though. Again you expertly put it when you said I'm noticing these things when I'm browsing, but things that appeal to me fall into my eyes and I suspect that's the same with other people and it perpetuates a view that all AI games are the same even after you've proven that they're not. For me when looking for a game I'm already here with some sort of an agenda, something I'm looking for so a furry game might not even cross my mind for an example and I'll immediately block it out of my vision. I'm more so aiming at the fact that are AI furry games that different from each other than in general. It might look like I'm moving the goalpost to the astute observers, but that was more the point I was trying to make from the start.

Examples:
Ren'Py - Interview Desires [0.1] [caocaoart] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats
Unity - Sexting Department [v0.0.5] [SextingDepartment] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats
VN - Ren'Py - NTR Chronicles Group [v10.0] [IHateGray] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats
VN - Ren'Py - Moonripple Lake [v0.6] [BCG] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats
VN - Unity - NTS Honeymoon [v0.14] [Tasty Soap Bubble's] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats
Ren'Py - My New House Gavana City [v0.3] [Golomi] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats
Others - Anna's New Job [demo] [Ero Chat Dev] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats
VN - Ren'Py - Come Right Inn [Ep.3] [FXLS] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats

I like some of those game, but certain characters do appear a bit to similar, mostly with the face and it's more noticeble and bothersome than in other engines in my experience, might be cherry picking again, but I believe that I apparently have a type and that others would search for games the same way if I'm not some outlier.

To put it simply I'm not despising AI games, or simply start disintegrating at the mere mention of it, mostly I've seen voices towering against AI 98% of the time I'm online, so I assumed the same sentiment here and yeah, some purely made extreme AI thing wouldn't bother me if it was deplatformed before our conversation, but that's not to say I'd lose sleep or throw a temper tantrum if it stayed up. I would be disappointed if some of the games I listed above under examples would be even though it bothers me that some girls do look a bit too samey to me.

I do firmly believe that everyone should have the right to request/have their content uploaded here, no matter what it is and no matter my opinion, so I am a bit disappointed with myself for being inconsiderate and not really thinking of others, I do think I need to slap myself for that one.

Anyway I like that we can have a civil conversation and what not, just by lurking mostly I really like how chill this community is compared to other places, and thanks for the links and the time talking to me, you learn something every day and I hope someday I'll be able to pay it forward.

I see it like this: AI in general is not the problem. To make a good or at least decent games, you need a lot: good graphics, good story and storyline and coding in at least some platforms.
Thats three skills usually needs a lot of time and practice and maybe some talent. Most people barely have one of it but the idea and passion to make a game. AI can be a tool.
And it can be fast.
There are a handful of good AI games, also a good load of bad and sloppy games without AI where you wonder why the dev made it at all.
The real thing that annoys me is the layziness of people who just throw up some AI sh... with barely any content nor good graphics (don't even rework the most simple fails) and put it behind a paywall. It's the same mentality like doing tiktok clips with nothing in it to generate some hits in hope to make the fast money.
And of course a lot of others jump on it and do the same. And have the guts to call it a game, while they did barely more than typing in some prompts. Now it feels like they have some kind of box where they just put the elements in a row and it is all the same. (NTR...)
I think such crap should get it's own section so you can go through the good stuff. And the AI tag should be more serious. See a rising amount of devs lately don't tag their games as AI because they "completely reworked" the pics the AI gave them, whatever that means...

if you are a wise enlightened being that understands how algos are fucking corporate bullshit, then why would you engage with youtube while logged into your google account?
Because I am willing to consider what else is out there to consume. Just like a reading recommendation algorithm based upon the books/authors I have read. Or a music algorithm to recommend new songs/artists to consider for listening pleasure. If I keep only to things I am certain about wanting to consume, then I don't get as many new experiences offered as options.

I might never have found the channel Stand-up Maths if I hadn't been subscribed and watched Veritasium. Same with finding Steve Mould's channel. I might never have found Ancient Americas if I had not consumed and interacted with videos from Historia Civilis. But doing so, my knowledge of maths, science, and history have expanded beyond what I knew and understood before that interaction. I can go on, obviously... and I am not quite certain how I found Veritasium and Historia Civilis... probably from my previous watch history on YouTube before they were suggested.

Sure, I make discoveries of new experiences on my own --- however, I will also say that such recommendations have afforded me an even broader range of experiences, knowledge, and understanding than had I just stuck it out on my own.

You do you, but the YouTube argument in the thread was that the algorithm is "pretty dogshit" and "busted" -- not that it was corpo bullshit. Sure, it's corpo and drives engagement - so you and I agree on the argument. As for whether or not we want to engage in it - you have your reasons not to and I have my reasons to do so.

Kind of the same reason why I don't throw out the usefulness of AI, as well. Yes, it is being oversold as mana from heaven so that certain corporations can make bank. But it is a tool that, when used effectively, can be a great assistant toward advancing knowledge and understanding. When it is simply a crutch, slop can ensue. But if we are going to strive for better use of AI, we better use AI better ourselves.

The post wasn't aimed at you or trying to refute your arguments. If anything, I was addressing the guy earlier who complained about algo fucking him over with AI slop. It's true that you can use your online personalized date for convenience and find stuff you actually want to engage with through those algos, but it's also true that youtube has been getting enshitified like everything else. And this algo that shows you more science videos is the same algo that sends someone else down the alt right pipeline. Corporations will do whatever they can to make money and increase profits. That's their mandate and I don't think this engagement driven algo is inherently evil or something. But the end result can be pretty shitty for the consumer and society as a whole.
