I’m going to start this one off with a disclaimer: There are two versions of this game, the original, and a remake that is not yet caught up with the original. I understand that at some point the visual quality was improved in the original, and the remake is going back to redo the early renders to match, while also making some changes to the story and/or code to improve the early game as a whole. I am only playing the remake, meaning I have stopped at (currently) chapter 7, and so there will be storylines and characters I’ve not yet come across (literally, I guess, in the case of some characters…).

So, just for the first seven chapters of the remake then, I’ll say I quite enjoyed this. While the graphics are decent, and a big improvement on the originals, IMO, I don’t think the girls are the best. Someone asked me in the game thread who my favourite was, and I hadn’t thought about it until then, and when I did, I realised I didn’t have a clear favourite – and especially not for looks. I found almost every girl had something about their looks and/or personality that I’m not a big fan of (and it wasn’t huge tattoos for any of them that I recall seeing, which is quite refreshing actually). In brief, the three main girls are too booby (Jenna), too booby and weird face (Monica), and weird eyes (Katie), and the girls who seem okay in both looks and personality are not around as much yet (e.g., Debbie, Angel, and Bella).

The story is quite basic, but in a way that’s actually a good thing. So far there hasn’t been anything that really seemed out of place. There’s a bit of mystery, but mostly it’s just a case of reconnecting with a family you’re practically a part of, meeting some other girls, and generally helping them out while getting lusted after by all of them. From a quick search, I don’t think this is a typical harem game, but in true TM fashion, that’s how I’m playing it for my first run, until such a time as I run into problems (and Intertwined with Layla and Alexis still haunts me there…).

The gameplay is straightforward, although there is a bit of a focus on stats, with a stats screen easily accessible from the right-click menu which also comes up at the end of each chapter. I’m not yet sure what these stats are for, because as far as I noticed, individual choice variables have been the triggers for later choices and content, rather than points thresholds. Either way, I’m pretty much maximising points with all but two characters so far, and will see how that holds up.

Overall, there’s not much brainpower needed for this one, and the interactions and build up make for some pretty hot scenes with some characters, while other characters have quicker to achieve scenes to keep things ticking over in the meantime. I think as far as these games and the “magic dicks” or “incredible sexual magnetism” go, it’s got a pretty good balance so far.

Glad you liked this game! It's still got some surprises for you up its sleeve ;). My personal favourites are Debbie personality-wise (imo, she's got insane chemistry with the MC by the virtue of having lots in common with him - they're both athletic, smart, funny, horny, and into girls :ROFLMAO: ) and Jolina looks-wise. I mean, I get horny just by looking at her.
Oh, and on Monica's face being weird - consider yourself lucky for not playing the original, she looks like a hag in its early episodes. Remade Monica is Aphrodite herself in comparison.

Zarah was the biggest improvement imo she sent me running for the Hills in the old Build. I never gave Debbie a fair chance tbh I didn't like how easy she came across early on , it was only later I decided I was wrong but I didn't want to play another save decided to save her and Lilly for another time ( I didn't like Lilly either found her dialogue annoying to read). Since I didn't like either of them on my first playthrough tho somehow I did get that orgy scene when I wasn't trying to do stuff. Maybe I went back with the chapter selector so I could no idea been so long.

Agreed on both of these. Pretty much everyone has some improvements, but those two are probably the most pronounced. Monica still looks a little too manly sometimes for me though.

Tried Finding Cloud 9 today and I didn't get very far with it. The story just didn't interest me, and the lewds were annoying because a lot of them were broken up by loads of "faster/slower/continue" choices one after another. Visually, it looked great, and I guess the UI is nice enough, but those are pretty much the only positives I got from it.

Hmm (or should I say "heh"?), since it's more story driven and there's less emphasis on lewd scenes, that didn't rlly bother me. At least not enough to remember it as an annoyance. While mostly trivial, I had more of an issue with the lack of polish in the script. Random capitalization of words, capitalization of words after an ellipsis when it's a clear continuation of the sentence, etc. Had to edit the script for my own sanity (vim regex ftw). Also death by a thousand uses of "heh".

A game you haven't at least mentioned playing yet is Shattered Dreams:
https://f95zone.to/threads/shattered-dreams-redemption-v0-5-nebula-dreams.236294/

I quite like it so far, though I thought of it cuz (maybe unfortunately) its lewd scenes have the same mechanics. At least the faster/slower choices offer different dialogue, which I don't think Finding Cloud 9 does.

I've tried Shattered Dreams. My notes say "pretty girls, but I quickly got bored of the story". I often find that with the sports ones like that tbh... For Finding Cloud 9, maybe the mechanics on the lewd scenes stood out more to me because after I gave up, I skimmed through the gallery to see if there was anything that might change my mind and make me carry on (clearly there wasn't) and the "faster/slower/continue" was massively apparent doing that.

tbh shattered dreams more of a mafia story than a sports one. I actually like the story of it since most of the story stuff happens in the background and the MC can focus on dating the girls. But yeah story nothing special either it's kind of just there and feels like a slow one where im not very invested in it. But I do enjoy the story bits all the same

That's the other theme that tends not to work for me, so it's a terrible combination!

Tried a new game, thought I'd just write a couple of paragraphs—that didn't quite go to plan...

Nephilim by BuuPlays

This is another of those games that I’ve seen recommended a lot and wanted to give a try. Now, I have tried several fantasy games so far, because I like the genre in books and TV/film, but I rarely find a fantasy AVN that works for me. This one started out pretty decent, and I thought it might buck the trend, but sadly it didn’t last.

The graphics are pretty good, and there are a lot of nice LIs in the game (and I mean a lot, which is actually part of the problem), but the story just didn’t make enough sense to me, and once the fantasy elements started getting too much, the writing was on the wall for this one.

What I liked: Other than the graphics and quality of the girls as mentioned above, I liked that (although slow) the start of the game did a pretty good job of creating a story, and a bit of (physical) worldbuilding. There was a good build-up of relationship with Eliza as the first “main girl”, and I thought in isolation that could give us a really good LI. There’s a choice (actually, it came up a second time much later in the game, too) between harem and non-harem, and although it was basically a tick-box exercise, I thought it was covered adequately in the dialogue. Once you start to develop relationships with other LIs, everything is choice driven, then eventually you get the option to “lock in” a relationship, after which sex scenes with that locked-in LI no longer require you to say “yes” or “no”, they just happen.

What I didn’t like: I mentioned the story not making enough sense to me, and this is largely around Eliza. You spend the start of the game getting close to her, kissing her a lot, building the relationship, professing your love for each other, and eventually exchanging oral sex in a couple of scenes, but no actual sex (until later on in the game). Then she is attacked and paralysed and you go desperately hunting around the city for some magic to cure her, during the course of which you can choose with one female vendor "Yeah, go on then, I could do with a fuck to take my mind off things", and then go on (not during the same night) to fuck a few other women quite readily too, while your “love” is lying in a bed with no feeling below her waist.

I also felt that it should be obvious to lock in Eliza first as she is clearly the main, and first, LI (presuming you choose to follow her path), but you get the chance to lock in several other LIs before being presented the choice to do so with Eliza, and I thought that was a bit odd. Once the game progressed past a certain point, it really started to feel that it was just throwing LIs at me in a never-ending barrage. While the vast majority of these looked really good, it was just too much. Once I decided to bail, I utilised the skip function to run through and get a bit of an idea how the rest of the game so far would go, and at one point it felt pretty much like “choice to lock in X LI, sex scene, choice to lock in Y LI, sex scene, choice to lock in Z LI…” and so on.

As far as the fantasy elements go, they just quickly became too much for me. I think in these games I must prefer something a just bit more subtle than eye lasers, vampire cures, having sex with stone idols, portals to have sex with goddesses, etc.

I haven’t done my usual LI cards because there were just so many LIs in the game and apart from some of the earlier ones (e.g., Eliza, Alice, Sylph), I just couldn’t make a connection with any of them. Going through and looking for images, then trying to hunt down names for them all, would have been too thankless a task even for me!

I have been playing it for some time and everything you said is true. Another issue I have is that there are all sorts of weird anachronisms in the dialog. For instance, characters refer to being "in overdrive" (something that wouldn't be known about to medieval technology), claiming to be able to "smell pheromones" which you really can't do and again people with their level of biological knowledge wouldn't know existed, etc. The sex dialog is annoyingly repetitious; every girl's scene seems the same. The ending of the most recent episode was fairly jarring, so I don't know if that's just forced drama or what the author was thinking it would accomplish.

As to the sex, it's pretty much nonstop once you get to the main big city. Early on I decided I didn't like Alice so rejected her back in their home village, but later on when they are together in the city she winds up in bed with MC having sex anyway. Then when you get to Jungle Girl Island every one of them is ready to jump MC's bones at the drop of a hat. It does get tiresome.

There are some girls that I'm still interested in who haven't succumbed to MC yet. I do like Sylph and Eliza, and the princess and magical girl (can't remember her name it's been so long since we saw her for any interaction), though the pirate girls and island girls I could ignore and be happy. Ignoring the rampant sex situations the underpinning story is pretty good, though, and I'll probably play it through now that I'm invested in it.

Luna, I think is the magic girl? The Jungle Girl island was ridiculous, yes. The girls there are hot, but there's just nothing really new there for me. It would have been much better being back in the city and building on existing relationships. Same for the pirate girls. I forgot to mention, but I didn't like Eliza's looks so much once she changed her hairstyle, so that was another negative as the game went on.

TonyMurray, I need an AVN expert like you to help find all these girls. :coffee:

View attachment 5359209 View attachment 5359210
I don't know all of them, and there are a couple I recognise but can't say where from. Someone else will fill in the blanks though. On the top, second is Ines from Unbroken and third is Jaye from Chasing Sunsets. On the bottom, first is Elsa from Law School (though you could tell me it's Aurora and I wouldn't argue too hard), third is someone I can't remember the name of from Domino Beach (Riley, maybe?) and fourth is Jasmine from Race of Life.

MiltonPowers has a much more extensive repetoire and will probably score a lot higher than I did.

just to add onto what was said the last one in the bottom row is Riley from steps of debauchery ( a FMC game)
I thought it was, but I couldn't be sure as I've not really played that one. I've tried it a couple of times but it's not held me (I've still got it on my list to try again at some point when I can give it a proper go).

yeah that game kind falls into Guilty pleasure cause she is hot for me. but it is one of the better FMC games ive played that is about turning the FMC into a slut cause of the slow pace of it but yeah otherwise nothing special about it
