Torrents

I'm somewhat surprised to see the use of torrents for sharing files seems to be relatively rare on this site, games here are all have links to 3 to 5 different download sites in the first post, many of which have slow speeds or data limits (split into ten parts... yay), this can be specially problematic for large game files (many of which can be 5GB and up), torrents allow members to share files directly, with the only speed limit being the amount of them (more seeds=faster downloads) and no filesize cap, not to mention torrents can still function as long as at least one person still has the file.

I'm surprised to see how few people know about torrents, here and on other similar sites it sometimes has to be explained how to use them. And they are a bit stigmatized.

I agree torrents are great for anything over a gig or two, although here the direct download speeds are usually fine for the things I want (and games often end up on torrent sites anyway).

FilsCdn is always horrible for me 100 to 400 KB/s, I just tried AnonFile on Phillys new game 150 to 400 also, there is more I've tried that are slow to me, but this could where I live, I don't know. Nopy and Mega take full advantage of my 200 Mb/s internet speed, Workupload is always 2.8 to 3 MB/s.

Well, with torrents you need to have quite a few sharing and having their torrent client running. That may work for a few days when games have new updates but it would be very unreliable imo.

100GB max file size. Pretty much explains why we have it.

You just tried a host on a game that's getting massive amounts of traffic and the speed is slow? Even mega gets shitty speeds once a popular games update. Either way their site is on and off, we'll see how they're heading and make decisions accordingly.

To refer back to the thread:
Torrents are allowed, they aren't just something we use or would like to use regularly. They are p2p, once seeders die they're useless, and using seedboxes will come strictly from people providing them. If people post them, most likely an uploader or mod or staff who sees it will put it on the op.

Not much to say really.

all downloads from pretty much any download links (although i mostly use MEGA and workupload) provided here works fine for me (with good download speed)
only when very large files are there(4+ GB), i would prefer torrent.

Does MEGA have download speed limit?
it does with large files, on top of the fact that after a certain file size (I think 1GB) you need to get their app and make an account (this is just a small hassle though) you can only download 1.5 GB at a time unless you have a premium account, otherwise you have to wait 6 hours for more bandwidth, so essentially no speed cap for small files, anything bigger you're effectively limited to 1.5GB/6hrs (which converts to approximately 70kb/s)

I'm surprised to see how few people know about torrents, here and on other similar sites it sometimes has to be explained how to use them. And they are a bit stigmatized.
part of it seems to be some lack of beginner friendly explanations, often the people that try to explain how to use them to a new user get too busy explaining little details about trackers or DHT when an entry level guide shouldn't be much more than "install a torrent client (possibly suggest a specific one) and then open torrent files/magnet links with it).

The stigmatization comes from them being linked to piracy (as they are more secure and difficult to remove, unlike centralized direct downloads taking down a torrent requires removing every single peer), but that shouldn't be a problem in sites that are already sharing game download links.

Back in the day you learned how torrents worked or you were stuck jerking it to free image galleries. Broadband internet and free streaming sites ruined the new generation. Why learn how torrenting works and get on good trackers if you can just fap to whatever gets uploaded to PornHub? Now get off my lawn.

For me its simple. No seeders, no download. And that's what always happens after a while...

dr FeelGood makes torrent mirrors regularly
i also make them sometimes on games i like and which have a huge size when i'm bored - but then i provide at least 2 seedboxes with gbit speeds
they get burried most of the time, but we write the word "torrent" in our post, so just search for it in those threads

but F95 is right, torrents tend to die in the long run (well hoster links are getting deleted too ...) - but also most of the games get updates on a regular basis, so the torrent needs renewing anyway.

Where exactly do people find their hentai games via torrents? I forgot the popular websites they are on.
Most can be found on the usual general sites (pirate bay, rarbg, so on), pornleech is exclusively for porn (with subcategories for games/hentai), though I usually perefer using one of the two nyaa sites (the regular sites are non porn anime/manga/etc, they have a button labeled "fap" at the top for an alternate site with the adult content); there's also this site called fapforfun which is some sort of blog and posts torrents basically daily.

I have had no problems with download anything over 1.5 GB and I have never had an account with Mega.

you have a 70 iq if you are so against torrents LOL
all the filehosts BUT mega are slow as fuck and would be much better with even a shitty internet connection seeding.
and mega has a size limit per day bs
