Since no update is coming in and we are just waiting, helping others with walkthroughs and saves, etc. etc. I would like to tell everyone something. Though this post might get deleted for being off-topic.

I am going on my first ever, true date, like a date which won't be just movies, but, you know, will go to the bed (preplanned, so don't worry I won't be rejected this time). The nice thing is, that I opened up, told her about my fetishes (which was why she got interested), and I can't wait to know what those fetishes feel in reality.

The thing that separates ToT from the generic erotic RPG is that it feels and functions like an actual RPG: the lewd and the sexy fantasies it covers are the icing on the cake.
I gotta hand it to you that the battle mechanics are supposed to be complementary with the lewd. On that, you're absolutely right.

And story wise, there is a bigger thing going on: of course it feels tempting to just let Crow sit on your face or to put Rose's feetsies in your mouth: there is even a Surrender skill for that matter. But the main driving plot is Ethan having to fight his temptations, his lust.
I would coin ToT as a "Shonen RPG with erotic elements".



About the SRPG:
When Bo mentioned to me that he intended to experiment on SRPG... I swear to you I pictured a single campaign with 3 types of female sprites in one side, a couple CGs and a regular boy army with specialized skillz on the other side.
But then the dude starts pumping quality CGs like there's no tomorrow. I really believed he was going for some smaller scale project just to get a taste of the engine and to do some extra work while Koda delivers the upcoming releases. But that... is something else.
So, this is quite a treat for those who love FF Tactics, Fire Emblem, Disgaea, Jeanne d'Arc, etc.

Ask Bo yourself: I believe he wants his games to feel and function like games above all else and not a mere erotic gallery.
He prob picked a new engine to level up his skillz as a dev while giving something new.

I have to agree with this synopsis. The few standout games on this site are ones, to me, that have significant gameplay elements. It's what separates those games and this one from the plethora of porn VNs and CYOAs out there. The key is to have GOOD gameplay though, and I do agree things like the shoe minigame or Claus' mazes, really all of Claus' gameplay elements are not up to snuff.

Let's be honest. If ToT's gameplay is reminding you an RPG, chances are you've never actually played an RPG before.
Role-Playing Game. In ToT there's no roles to be played. Storywise you're either "Ethan the horny adventurer who tries his best to resist the villainesses" or "Ethan the horny adventurer who gives in to the villainesses". Gameplaywise the only decent RPG elements in the game have been literally tossed aside and forgotten (I'm talking about the elemental system), leaving just the super barebones weapons/armor systems that come built into every RPGMaker game.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but if you want to enjoy a lewd game that really feels like an RPG, with actual character build and playstyle options, then your best bet is giving MGD a go. Ironic that a game not even made in RPGMaker is a much better RPG than ToT.

ToT is more of a battle-fuck game with a story focus, or a femdom submission simulator.

And if we're being real, ToT's story is dogshit. It's so generic and full of retcons and ambiguity (not the good mysterious kind, the lazy and overly convenient kind [see: Naga pearl]) that I don't even know how you could pretend otherwise lol
If you think about it, there's a big chance that Boda's evident reluctance in going forward with ToT's story is due to their own realization of how bad it's become. At this point they should just abandon that game altogether before giving superfans like yourself any more false hope. But of course that wouldn't let them laze around as much, and wouldn't be as profitable...

I never said the game should not be fun. I like good gameplay. Gameplay is nice. Let's play fun games!! That's why we're all on F95. We like to masturbate to video games.

But when there are overly simplistic garbage puzzles that do nothing but add superficial padding, that's both decidedly NOT fun and also unerotic. It's lose-lose.

I am not saying gameplay has to be specifically erotic either. Just that it ought to compliment the porn in some way.

Look at NTRPG2 for example. The lengthy introduction enhances the NTR when it finally happens. All of the build-up and connection between the characters exists to serve the eroticism.

I will concede that there could hypothetically be good video games in which the pornography is complementary to the gameplay. All the cool 90s kids remember jerking off to the Ninja Scroll anime movie from Blockbuster video.

Eroge games like ToT may be hentai-first but good gameplay is a close second. I mean, there is a reason we are actually playing the game rather than looking up an image gallery online. On the other hand, if the gameplay is terrible we can play the classics such as Earthbound, Legend of Zelda - a Link to the Past, or Super Metroid. If the game has good ecchi/ hentai, the bar for good gameplay can be lower but it still needs to be "Good enough to be fun as an actual game".

Well, since everyone is writing their views on gameplay and other stuffs in ToT, I guess I'll add mine too.

All of us here have the option to visit the ehentai gallery site and get all the images from the game, take em and fantasize about any story and wank away into the abyss. ToT is that, but "a bit" more... lets say... indulging. You obviously have to play on someone else's storyline, but the mechanics just take the thing one step ahead.
As far as real RPG is considered, ToT is not that, not even close, as here you basically "do stuff" (like QTEs for example) instead of "think stuff".
I totally agree with GearlessJoe when he says MGD has more character development than ToT, because it at least has "role playing" to it.

Well I am pretty sure he likes achieving such stats in every game he plays, by which I mean that he probably has a lot of choices for games to play in that context. ToT was not supposed to be made into "that" kind of a game.
If I was to imagine an ideal version of ToT, it would be something near to MGD type story with ToT type CGs, and you know add the ToT type battles if you like.
