Then you wouldn't end up versioning it that way. I mean its your software, do it however. But in the real world, this is not standard. You'd just give a demo version the versioning, "Demo." Since a Demo is a preview of the finished or coming work. Think of it as a POC (Proof of Concept).Developer here. The game version is 0.0.0.0 due to this being a demo version only which will not get any updates unless entirely needed. To get more frequent updates, buy the full game.
Null Version Exception0.0.0.0 is still a lot, null version works too
The brag about the real art is because there is intent and a human hand behind it, rather than a conglomeration of data put together using pixel-by-pixel guessing and approximations to put pixels of color together to look like what was prompted and having to maybe do several of these to find one that looks okay. Also with real art, the artist can make exactly what they want and need, while AI generated images are not able to be precise enough. As a very amateur artist myself, I get the desire to creature and share with the world, but in this market you really need either the writing, the gameplay, or both to carry the game. The existence of AI doesn't make this point any less true either since this market has been overcrowded since the flash era, so I don't get the brag about this featuring real art. Sorry if this comes off rude, but I think some brutal honesty is required, and it's not like this is a new project either.
"Brag" was not the correct word to use in my remark. I was talking from a pure marketing standpoint, divorced from the artistic, which the game as a human-created creative work obviously possesses. The brag about the real art is because there is intent and a human hand behind it, rather than a conglomeration of data put together using pixel-by-pixel guessing and approximations to put pixels of color together to look like what was prompted and having to maybe do several of these to find one that looks okay. Real art also shows the creative side of the person drawing it, while AI tends to have a "neutral style" unless you train a way for it to copy a style. Real art also shows the passion the artist has for whatever they're making (a game in this case).
Fair about "brag"."Brag" was not the correct word to use in my remark. I was talking from a pure marketing standpoint, divorced from the artistic, which the game as a human-created creative work obviously possesses.
From a market POV I believe there is market worth in a game with AI-assets, but it has to be held up by the writing and the gameplay.
