Given how Eddie W likes to take his time writing a story, it will be a long time before we know if Evie will leave Joe. In fact, it might be him who leaves her. The vast majority of men couldn't bear to learn that their wife had done what Evie did.

Renee is supposed to look much younger than her age, and this woman looks like she's in her sixties. It would have been better off finding a model who looks like she's in her forties.
I like the development of this series. I had read a long time ago a series about a bald prosecutor whose wife cheated on him and who had two children, and it was quite long. So I don't mind following long stories; the "Black Belt" series had 28 chapters. Note that it doesn't focus much on the husbands, although Carlos became an MMA fighter instructor, so his reputation as a womanizer isn't affected at all.

Eddie Wilder

Undercover Blonde Ch. 12

Evie spooned through her bowl of yogurt, creating a small swirl of berries and granola. The motion was automatic, her mind elsewhere as she sat at the kitchen island of her Shoreline Towers apartment. Outside, Miami sprawled beneath a cloudless sky, but she barely registered the view that had so impressed her days earlier.

The spoon moved from bowl to mouth without conscious direction. The clock on the microwave blinked noon, marking another day half gone. She’d slept poorly as usual, her dreams populated by disjointed images of Senator Williams’ face contorted in pleasure, Michael’s perceptive gaze, Joe’s wounded expression, and worst of all, her father’s disappointed face, all merging and separating in nauseating sequence.

Last night she’d given a sitting United States Senator a handjob. The thought landed flatly, a fact rather than the emotional catastrophe it should have been. When Michael had brought her to orgasm weeks earlier, she’d broken down crying, overwhelmed by guilt and shame. Last night, she’d scrubbed her hands raw in the bathroom sink, but the tears hadn’t come. Not in the club bathroom, not during the drive home, not lying awake in her luxury prison. The absence of that emotional response disturbed her more than the act itself.

Evie set down her spoon, staring into the half-empty bowl. What kind of person was she becoming? The natural progression of boundaries being crossed had begun to feel inevitable rather than shocking. Each line crossed had made the next one easier to step over.

What's Left Unsaid - Chapter 14

Conner kissed my stomach, slowly and softly letting his lips glide along my skin making me shiver. There was a heat to him, his breath and the flick of his tongue in my bellybutton. I let out a groan and ran my fingers through his hair. His teeth nipped and I felt a small spike of pain. Pain that I deserved and surprisingly found I wanted.

It wasn’t that I wanted Conner to be furious with me. But culture had taught me that when a man caught his spouse cheating, he became irrational, reverting to a caveman. I was supposed to be a slut and a whore. He was supposed to scream and demean and rage. But Conner was… calm. Oh, I could tell he was in pain. He’d been in pain since the accident. A complex maze of emotions and circumstances. Physical and mental. My poor husband had been put through a grinder and somehow he’d come out on the other side solid and standing instead of being ground chuck.

This author doesn't write the sex scenes as well as DS, but his character development and insight(s) into the characters' minds is good.

Personally, I think the story has been waiting for its ending for a long time. The story itself is good in the erotica and betrayal genre, but the ending will decide everything! I hope it won't be obvious and predictable, as this will ruin the whole story and the effort put into writing it. Personally, I see a bittersweet ending (Dan divorced and raising children, returning to a new job and going to a psychologist, Sarah living alone because she is divorced and suffering from this and also visiting a psychologist, Lester is in prison because he was caught by the FBI for his fraud and blackmail). I hope it will be similar to this or something better than the bastard getting everything so easy because THAT'S THE WAY! I don't want the story to turn into disposable and one-sorted nonsense (since there are already visible in the story, which make the plot ridiculous). Honestly, I am against Sarah's mother being a whore and getting close to Lester, as it will seem trite. Yes, she can be playful and a little sexy and have her own mind, but I don’t want to turn the plot into Lester’s Mary Sue (unless, of course, the author himself imagines himself in Lester’s place) – then everything will be clear.
