Yep the tool is a little bit shady... But I have been using this for almost six months now and nothing happens to me at least... so I guess it depends on the user...

You have to maybe go to your house in the village, and there you'll see a sigil on the floor where you can walk over it and have it teleport you. I haven't played the game in a long time, so I don't know if that'll work. If it still don't work, try beating the demon king, I don't know really.
