I wouldn't even call this an alpha release. There's clearly missing content. I'm not an expert in development, but I don't see this being completed in the next few months.
It should be added that the core artist hired to draw art for this kermitted sewerslide.Wild. I'm a (non-nsfw) indie game developer, and from my perspective..... he's done the hard work. Why not just flesh it out and add more? Wouldn't that theoretically keep his game on the top of the store pages and keep interest, thereby, money?
Maybe he's having problems in his real life, or there are some production issues (e.g., maybe having trouble working with the VA or the artist), or maybe it's not his full time job. Or, maybe he's not really a programmer by trade and the technical debt is getting to him. These would be reasonably understandable, I suppose.
But looking at his code it's like..... he could easily add more content. Sure it's buggy, but all the foundational work is already done. Figuring out how these parts talk to each other and getting the individual features going is the hard part, which he's already done.
Yeah, so the game was already questionably in a precarious state to begin with.
So... Don't be too hard on the guy, and if you don't really like the game, just move on to the next.
