What version of the game are you using?
I just downloaded versions 1.1 and 1.2
tried my save on both and they work
Maybe you should do a fresh download of the game without translation and see if saves work for you?

I can send you some voice file I used for the kunoichi for reference if you want (I don't know how that works)
Koikatsu cards are the image itself, it should be a PNG and depending on how detailed the characters are, can even be as big as 60mb+. You do also need the mods to use this card.
