Ver. 1.14 torrent, if someone need:

I also attached the save to this post (but only 53% gallery) :(
If you don't want to wait for full save 100% gallery, then download universal extractor (xp3, asar, etc.):
1. Download latest version "ExtractData"
2. Unzip "ExtractData" and open "ExtractData.exe".
3. File -> OpenFile.
4. Go to Game folder > resources > resourcesapp.asar > open.
5. Confirmation - Yes.
6. Wait 100%.
7. All game resources have been extracted to the folder you selected.

Does this circle explain why the price is so high?

I'm not "complaining" per se, I'm just curious because it's so out of price range compared to its contemporaries and arguably even the higher end base games like COM2/Honey Come/etc.

In my defense I am not downloading/planning to get the game. I just saw it on DLSite front page with the high price tag and 4k+ purchases and got curious.

In one of the creator's comments section in cien, they responded to a guy asking about the high price about supply and demand of hgames; how the demand for the type of content present in the game is not sufficiently satisfied by what is currently available in the market. I guess in a sense he's kind of right? But it in no way justifies the 80+ USD price tag, even if the game content is worth 10+ hours of gameplay. With the same amount of money, you could buy a AAA game with spare cash in hand, or 5 copies of Imouto Life Fantasy.

But anyway its kind of crazy, I feel like if they set the price at around 20-30 dollars, the game would have 10k+ sales now as compared to the 4k they actually have.

Anyone else having issues with this patch? 1.14 runs fine, but after patching, the .exe literally stops working. Trying to run it opens no processes in Task Manager whatsoever. When patching, I got the white screen with green OK button, and Google Lens translated it saying the patch was applied, but ya, after that it just doesn't work.

Maybe you should set the Japanese locale in your OS settings?
I've been using the Japanese locale instead of my native locale for years now. And 99% of Japanese games have no problems at all.
If even that doesn't help you, then maybe the problem is somewhere in your OS?
-------------
When the patch is applied and the green button, then press this button appears. After that you need to restart the game (exe) and the game will already be installed version 1.15. I can play 1.15 without any problems

I've had JP Locale set for ages now, so it's not that. Just double checked to make sure some Windows update didn't switch it back, "Current system locale: Japanese (Japan)".

Yep, I got the green button, I pressed it. Then I waited for the window the close, and then started the .exe again, and nothing happens. Absolutely nothing. So I'm unsure what the issue is. I'll try restarting my computer and see if that helps

Maybe after applying patch 1.15 something happened to some users that didn't happen with 1.14. For example, you can try:
  • Check if the path from the root of the disk to the file is too long (255 characters maximum allowed if you have Windows).
  • Try running as administrator.
  • Try temporarily disabling your antivirus or adding the game folder to the exception.

After some screwing around, I found the issue:

The path is only 48 characters long in total, but it had [ ] in it (for example, D:\Games\[H]\RJ01214867 - hutarigurashi_ver1.14\)

The game DOES RUN FINE in this folder (as proven when I ran 1.14 without issue). HOWEVER, I guess if you PATCH the game in a folder with square brackets (and probably other non-alphanumeric characters), it will screw up the .exe.

What I did to fix the issue:

- Extract 1.14 into a temporary, top-level folder with only alphanumeric characters (D:\Test\)
- Run it to make sure it works
- Patch it to 1.15 as per instructions (got the white message with green OK like before)
- Ran the .exe, it ran fine and shows 1.15 in the top right corner.
- Moved the entire folder back into D:\Games\[H]\RJ01214867 - hutarigurashi_ver1.14\
- Game now runs in that folder.

So ya, if you PATCH the game in a folder with special characters, it will fuck up the .exe. But the game itself, once patched, WILL run fine in that folder. Just gotta move it somewhere else to patch it first.

Huh I was under the impression that these cohabitation/touch games are actually quite plentiful. If the creator circle is talking about actual in-game features in comparison though, I guess that kinda makes sense from their point of view(?).

Setting aside the issue of price justification (imo anyone can price their non-monopoly products whatever they want; the sales results will decide whether it's justified), I do think it's crazy to gamble 80+ USD on a digital product that you can't refund. The trial version must have been REALLY good for 4k+ people to put their faith in it.

I think content aside the dev was also implying about the quantity of actual well developed and high quality cohab games? I mean sure theres a crap ton of cohab/sim games out there but in terms of the ones that are actually good? They're actually far and few between, like for every good cohab game, theres 10 bad ones that came before it, and so the consumers are pretty much starving for good cohab games.

That being said, I know this is golden week for the Japanese now, but this game is kind of sandwiched between two big cohab game releases, so that certainly doesn't help the game's sales

I know about the Maron Maron game, but what's the other big cohabitation release?
