Made pretty frustrating by the fact that enemies all deal damage on touch (despite all having attack animations) and their hurtbox is nearly as wide as your attack reach.
The diffrence between 'getting close enough to hit them' and 'getting so close that you take damage' is pretty slim.
Edit: About the 'early' game. Didn't realize that there were two different games.
