*Reposting here as a warning, since not everyone checks the official thread about games infected with malware.

This version of the game shared here comes packed with enigma, while the demo on dlsite is distributed without similar protection (only built-in encryption of the assets), suggesting that this was done solely to hide something.

It's not uncommon for games/apps packaged this way to be detected as malware, but it doesn't make much sense for only an unofficial version to be distributed in this manner. It would be necessary to find someone who purchased the game to confirm how the full version is distributed.

EDIT: It appears the developer used enigma in the initial release of the game, and later released a different version without it, causing this discrepancy. More information here.

I strongly suspect that this wasn't done by the developer, but by whoever published the resource. I checked on 5 websites, and the release is exactly the same everywhere as the resource that was leaked by a certain user. I have every reason to believe that it contains a virus.

What's the point of such protection? Besides, this kind of protection is usually classified as an unwanted application. And here, practically all antivirus programs are screaming that there's a virus inside, and they all have the same verdict - a coin miner. I could quickly set up a virtual machine and check everything manually, but maybe later. I just wanted to warn the users.

EDIT: Okay, I've checked the information you send. So... Maybe it's a real false alarm.

Protections like enigma could serve to hinder the distribution of assets separately, to try to shield some drm mechanism, or even just to distribute the game in a single executable file.

Personally, I don't feel comfortable playing anything distributed this way, even if the developer has a good reputation, especially when it's a game made with rpg maker mv/mz, which I usually replace the embedded nwjs and modify the package.json to mitigate security risks.

Even if not for analysis purposes, using a virtual machine (or a sandbox) to handle any game is the best thing to do nowadays.
