i cant figure out how to get this to work i have the translation, raw file and latest patch on my computer but its like a puzzle i cant figure out... all the files have a password i dont know and i think i need to merge them somehow?

For the password, drag the icon file into the field. Read the instructions thoroughly, I did my best to write really detailed instructions

Consider this a sign of divine intervention, because I believe it's better to start clean without any old saves.
The odds to get bugs with an old save are high.

and download SR1.20ENRelease.zip, extract to game folder and follow the instructions there. Though if you wait a little longer, you could have a better version once I finish manual editing of the combat dialog of regular enemies (which you may or may not see much of depending on what you're into)

It looks like you downloaded either just the 1.20 patch for the game and not the full game itself, or files got corrupt because you extracted them without Japanese locale. Personally I've just switched Windows locale setting to Japanese globally but there's probably other ways too

I also rewrote some installation instructions, so hopefully everyone is able to do it. If not, feel free to ask for help here.

I will note that the translations will not be perfect, considering the immense amount of dialog and various contexts, making it hard to test. But should be a lot better than the automated MTL from before. Feel free to let me know if anything needs fixing though.

By the way, I put the translated dialog into the System/talk folder now, so if you have a previous translation of the base game installed, you can get rid of the Mod_Talk folder and it should improve the startup time somewhat. Still, it can take a while, so for any players, if you encounter the game not starting, just looking black, make sure to keep the game window in focus for up to 30 seconds and hopefully it boots up. If you click on other windows, the game will completely halt until you click on the game again.

Alternatively it's not hard to find on google, various websites have it. In case you end up with an older version, get 1.20 patch here (this is not full game, just patch)

It seems like there might be pre-patched translated versions floating around. They probably won't have the most recent translation version, but you could get the latest translation from my Github and apply it on top

I'm quite late to notice this, but this version is broken...not yours, but the jap mod itself.
It got fixed in the version 250504 and 250529. I didn't peek in the files to see what they did. Probably some typo.
So to make the mod work we must wait your update.

Yeah I noticed some issues after the fact. I'll try to update and fix some stuff soon, I felt like I needed a break after all the work with the base game. I'm rather busy for about a week now but probably after that I could look into the mod again. It's definitely a lot harder to manage something that's being updated and also so big, so it can feel a little draining, but I do want to provide a decent translation of the mod as well

It's enough effort just to migrate to a new version that I'd rather take the opportunity to do a little more, especially since I'm already aware that some areas I've translated before have changed enough that there's a bunch of stuff I need to fix, and latest version might break more. In any case I can probably allocate some time to work on it soon

the latest big one is the same you translated (250422).
The others, 250504 and 250529, are updates. (250504 is a significant amount of data)
I know in their discord there is something new every day mostly, but I always ignore them because they easily break the game.

Yeah I did some testing with that patch and it was fine, and it fixed a crash I had before. Either way it's included in the translation

I found out that I can't recruit virgin characters even with characters with 100% virgin rate like Eternus. In battle, I used [Check], even though the result showed the enemy as virgin, after recruiting, there was no [Virgin] in Ability. Characters like Eternus recruited in Free room still have [Virgin].

Good catch, I found some issues with translations regarding the virgin abilities and descriptions and fixed them and after that I was able to recruit a virgin Eternus. I updated the file on Github without making a new release so try redownloading it
