VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Transsexual Stepmom [v0.6] [Distru]

Awful. they should just call it stepdad because it's bad. poorly written, impossible to read, grossly bad renders made in 2 seconds. should be abolished from existence. made me lose faith in humanity and god.

Terrible, no build up, terrible English, minimum effort and it shows. There's a difference between being a novice and learning on the job, which can be acceptable, and this garbage, which definitely is not.

In fact, not a bad game, there is even a fairly adequate plot. But now is 21 years old. not 17 -18. The graphics are such that just blood from the eyes))), completely discourages the desire to look, it's still a visual novel. That's why I can't give more than 4, but it's a pity.

Can see potential, but needs a lot of work. Story is amateurish sentence structure spelling and English language for example. I'm hopefully waiting to see if this gets better in future releases.

I am only reviewing this because a lot of other reviewers are lacking proper perspective.

First half of the game is adaptation of Mogiki Hayami's "Gibo wa AraFour Shemale" (nhentai: 309658) It's a 25 panel comic with a sequel. The dialogue is copy pasted from it's english translation. Expecting some backstory or proper characterization is too optimistic for this type of work.

As for transphobia. MC is having an identity crisis lusting after a transwoman and lashing out. (plus cultural differences between western approach to the issue vs japanese hentai world weirdness).

Honestly game loses a lot without Hayami's distinctive artstyle. And chosen medium is not really suitable for facial expressions. In original story, you can notice the slight relationship dynamic change (she takes the reigns as a power bottom) when stepmom learns that MC is a virgin. His expressions swap from creepy to flustered and her expressions swap from apprehensive to lustful.

In this game though? Well dialogue is not suitable for this level of art. They need to either upgrade the art to a degree that it can carry this mediocre dialogue. Or alternatively they need to rewrite some of the dialogue so that it can fill the missing pieces caused by artstyle.

So i just wanted to see if all these bad reviews are true and honest or if they just want to destroy futa-kinks.
Even i am NOT into futa, hence why i am NOT rating that part, neither good, nor in a bad way, i nevertheless wanted to see how this game is made and written.

Well - the reviews are right........
HORRIBLE english, but somehow THAT horrible that it might be worth to play this game just to see how bad a story can be written.
But there are also the renders, which look like being created within last century, and choices which are basicially non-existent.
The game is just about "start game - and fuck her - repeat to fuck her".

Again: i am personally NOT into futa, but even i have to say that this game is a punch into face for all futa-lovers.
How disappointed must they be, having a new rare futa game, but then get to play such a crap - i feell sorry for them - really sorry

Playing this game at times feels so surreal, it's hard not to believe this isn't just a dream the dev had and then decided to make it into a game.

1. This game is not about the story.

2. Writing is terribly plain. I've mentioned it before, but the writing in this game is really bad, and that's for two reasons. One, the dev isn't the most creative fella and just wrote the first thing that popped into his head, without really considering whether it's good or not. Two, the game is translated (poorly) from Russian, so we end up with bad writing translated into an even worse version of itself. I really dislike the mistakes, like how the MC calls his new mom "he", but still says "they" and "them" a lot of times, like he wasn't sure which pronouns to use, conflicted between his hatred to transsexuals and being wanting to be polite and respect his mothers change. That could even be a good plot device, if not for a fact that we all know it's just a bad translation, and there's no deeper meaning behind it other than "Google Translate gave me this, so it must be good". There are also instances of wrong characters saying dialog, but at this point it's to be expected from ren'py games, as many of them have this sort of mistake. But in one instance, at the beginning, [insert mother's name here] calls MCs dad by MCs name, instead of his name. I'm not sure how such a mistake happens, and it left me confused for a moment. Of course there's some broken grammar too, as it's only natural even (and way too often) to native speakers. In this game it can get really weird at times, but despite that you can still understand the meaning, even if it requires a bit of mental gymnastics. Still, it's far from the worst I've seen, so it gets a pass. Also, there's this one mention of how moms butt is "not hard at all", even though she was a man. It's hilarious to me, since it's not like man have butts made out of stone, so comment like that really proves how little idea the dev has about what he's writing.
3. Graphics aren't this game's forte. Even if the game isn't that old, the graphics certainly make it look as such. They're low resolution and badly compressed, which results in a terrible final result. It's not like it looks like it's old per se, just like someone with no idea what he's doing started plating around and thought that this looks good. It's just a bad job, and what makes it worse is the fact that this game relies on porn scenes, so good graphics would be its saving grace, but sadly they aren't. Animations look choppy, but again, they're not the worst animations in this game genre, and we also get some animations in the first place, so that's something. Lighting sucks though, with it randomly appearing and disappearing in one scene, and in general it's not that well-placed, with some scenes being too dark. Then again, it's not ruining the game as much as bad resolution and compression. Also, the expressions of characters are soulless. Expressions are the most basic forms of communications, so they should not look like the default expression the model gets when you spawn it.
4. Gameplay is nonexistent. There is nothing you can do in this game. The only choice you make is whether you want to have sex on in the kitchen or in the bedroom. That's it. The choice isn't even announced, so at first I struggled a bit, thinking that the game broke. Only after shaking my mouse like a maniac did I see sides of the screen lit up. You also don't know what you're choosing. The choices aren't labelled, so you have to click on one to know that what you get is in fact another sex scene, just as you might have expected, but what they'll look like is a mystery until you make the decision. It's a bad gameplay design on so many levels, it amazes me how so many of them could be made with just one and only gameplay part of the game. For that I congratulate the developer, I don't think I'll ever see such a terrible achievement again.

In conclusion, the game is terrible, and only really worth it if you're really into chicks with dicks and don't care about anything else in the game, even the looks. It's also good for quick fappers, since you get to the porn really fast, and you can safely ignore the dialog as well. But for any sane people out there, I'd stay away from this game. It's version 0.5, but there's barely anything in there, so I wouldn't expect any improvement in the coming updates. Just a waste of time for most people, and big disappointment for futa fans.

Synopsis:
The father of the MC marries a transsexual woman who becomes his stepmother. At first MC has negative feelings towards her, but soon he finds out that he's sexually attracted to her. Where do things go from there?

The Good:
+ The renders are decent, but they aren't amazing - there are several issues with the lightning. Still, overall it's probably the best thing about this game
+ The game falls into a niche genre which isn't well represented, so for any fans it's a plus
The Neutral:
= The animations are a mixed bag: some of them are decent, some others are terrible - for some the bitrate is so low (or the compression so high) that they look atrocious
The Bad:
- The MC looks like a real creeper, which is quite off-putting
- There's little to none when it comes to backstory, plus there's no character development - one moment the MC calls his stepmom a guy, the next - he's groping her ass with his dick out
- The dialogue is very simplistic. On top of that, the translation is terrible almost to a point that the dialogue is unreadable - it's littered with spelling and grammar errors. It seems that originally the game was made in Russian since there are some parts of the dialogue that aren't translated

The Verdict:
In it's current state I'd give it 2.5* and I would only suggest it to people who are interested in trans chicks.
It's OK for a quick fap game, cause it jumps into action almost immediately and there's not much of a story going on.
It needs quite a bit of polishing to get a better score. Beyond that, when it comes to the story and characters, unless it gets a major overhaul, it doesn't seem it can evolve into something more interesting.

The writing is so bad in so many different and amazing ways it almost feels like its on purpose.

I sincerely hope the author was trying to teach us all how TERRIBLE the new woke pronoun game is... because when you read this jumbled up mess of them they their its so off-putting and disjointed it almost distracts you from the stuff renders with flat lighting and goofy expressions.

When I say the writing is bad... I mean... biblically bad. The story makes no sense. The dialogue is hamfisted and the characters are flat. Spelling mistakes (dozens) are easy to forgive. Its tough to writing words in 2021. /facepalm

Good game. Brings variety to the table. Could be better but then could be worse. Not sure if there are many games out there with setting where the male char bangs transsexuals and not the other way around. If more trans characters are introduced then it would be swell.

The transphobia in the writing makes me feel disgusted with myself for reading (I should have noticed from transsexual). The spelling mistakes and the choppy dialogue make the storyline incoherent. The setup for the relationship is nonexistent. I would highly recommend the dev create a legit relationship between the two and stop calling the mom a man (learn some basic things about not being transphobic).

Edit: Some are saying that the story is supposed to be transphobic cause it is based off of some other story, but it is not required to straight up copy that story. The dev is making a choice for the story to have the MC start as a transphobe and for some reason the dev thinks we want to see the MC quit misgendering instead of setting up the sex scenes better.

This game is hot as fuck. However there are some minor criticisms such as the lighting and some of the minor renders. This is not a big deal though as the game has a lot of sexy replay value and I could see it becoming a top game with some small work.
