Here's an incomplete list of certain genres of certain popcorn-worthy topics that just keep... popping up, with a priority for examples from 2025.
These topics have OP with predictable, repetitive content that often leans critical, whiny or dismissive. It may be full on complaining or insulting, or sound just too exasperated. When you see one, you know it's time to get the popcorn gifs.
The intention is to list these OPs to provide:
- a way track them and their OPs' content
- quick reference for finding older similar topics, like to show that it's been talked about before
- I guess, a check if your new discussion you wanna start is original?
Excluded are OPs that are jokes or that I think were made to get on this list.
Suggestions are welcome! Criticism and discussion of trends and patterns in these "genres" too. But if you want to argue a case that's worthy of a listed OP, do that somewhere else.
