The women look fantastic. I do enjoy myself some management gameplay and it has more 5 star reviews than a.. you finish that joke. And yet I just don't see it. Perhaps I expected too much from a game that still calls itself a 0.4 demo. But I believe in rating games as they are not on future potential.

    The short: Comeback when it's a 0.7 or 0.8.

Porn content: There are a good amount of scenes but only with two of the characters (1 fingering scene exception). Mio a dom and Yoko emotionless.

Gameplay: You buy various locations and staff them with the main girls and filler characters. The main cast all have unique traits most of them boiling down to better at X. Each character has 4 stats that can improve over time as does every location. The effectiveness of which depend on how well you can fill those requirements.

And that's just too much to keep track off. Especially when across 20 jobs and as many characters with all of those being ever changing.

Luckily you don't have to figure that out. You can look at each job and compare characters directly where it will show you what will change if you swap them around. +50$ -2 harbor xp. But then when this is the only feasible way what's even the point? I didn't feel I was making interesting decisions.

There is a payment deadline but it's designed so you will have enough when it rolls around. All in all there just isn't much too it. It's functional.

Writing: The main girls are genuinely interesting. The MC is his own character and a bit of a sleaze. As of 0.4 however it's just a lot of build up and not much pay off yet. A kiss scene here. Sexual tension there. Characters where you wonder what's up with them but no answers yet. It's all fine just a lot of the pay off isn't there yet and why I recommend waiting for later release.

There are a couple things that are really grating however. From the intro it keeps repeating oh boy but you sure didn't know how terrible a decision this might've been yet. You might totally break her heart. Things of that nature over and over again. And I'm just not here for it. I'm not interested in a tragedy. But I also don't believe it because it's a porn game and it shows you the harem you will have. Maybe that's the point. You can't help but keep going even though you know it will end badly? Sure it's just too much all the time.

Maybe these things will end up having some amazing pay off in the future. I'm willing to believe. But as of right now version 0.4 it's just not there.

I don't often write reviews but I felt compelled to for this game. Because first impression it looks good. The reviews are highly positive. The story has great potential. The management gameplay not so much.

But I can't help feel like I wasted my time and if you made it this far I don't want you wasting yours.

EDIT: A minor thing. In the intro you find out your sister has already sold off the resort. MC goes to talk with the buyer asking them to reconsider and says he has no legal footing to stand on. Except..he does? The MC and sister both inherited resort making you essentially co owners. You can't just sell off a property without consent from the other owner. A nitpick perhaps but a story thread with one of the characters depends on this. And if those constant warnings are proven to be true those might as well.

    Tropicali. Where to begin...

From the beginning I suppose. I have been a fan of Story Anon's other game, "Out of Touch" for about 2 1/2 Years at the time of this review. I have rarely had such an intimate, emotional, even spiritual time with a VN, even less so with Western VNs. Many people taking the time to read this may scoff at that, some people don't get attached to characters in a story. I fortunately do not find it hard, or I may have never come to love OoT as much as I do. My connection to the game led me to want to talk about the game with others. This led me to come to know Story Anon pretty well over time. He is exactly who you think he may be from reading OoT, a man with a lot of heart. I cherish the time I have spent with him and the other people in our circle.

Come to find out, He's working on a new game, while also working on OoT. That's crazy! How can he make a separate game while still releasing MONTHLY updates for OoT? Well, he did it alright, amazingly so. Tropicali takes place in the same universe as OoT, but requires no previous knowledge to play. It is an interesting story about a man's path through life, and the choices he has made, and has yet to make. The main character, Fernando, has come to become the owner of a little island resort, and he needs your help on managing it. A simple set-up, but effective to get us into the game. The story elaborates from there, with takeovers, and new facts coming to light over what you thought was true, but I'll leave that for you to see for yourself. The writing of the characters is very fleshed out, every one of them feels different in both personality and voice. The art is fantastic, I have been able to see Story Anon's progression in this department over the years, and he is on the top of his game with this one. The girls and the vistas are stunning at times, and I'm not normally a big Koikatsu guy, so that says something. The music is such an interesting blend of cultures, due to the multicultural history of both the island and our characters, I love it. There is also some gameplay to be had, where you actually manage the island, buying properties and delegating duties. I'm not a management-game kinda guy, but this is actually very well done for my money.

All in all, Tropicali is another grand slam from one of my very favourite Devs, and a must play for anyone who enjoys AVNs. Thanks for reading.

    Ooops, he did it again...

Tropicali is a great side project from our hack dev Story Anon. And what a side project! Let's start from

    PROS:
    Visual —
This dude is a fucking Koikatsu wizard. All girls are so hot yet so different. Small tits, big tits, great thighs — they all are adorable.
Characters — Tropicali might seem not that plot depth, but still girls are really interesting. Finally, we have a MILF who is not mindlessly starved for some cock. I really enjoy Jessica's development. Also we have hot (in many ways) [REDACTED]. Even Yoko who seems emotionless at first... Later we see that she has feelings and this is awesome!
Music — Anon made it again. Masayoshi Takanaka perfectly completes the tropical vibe.
Animations — Yeah, finally! Anon's great style meets some fucking movement. This is really hot!

    CONS:
    Gameplay —
Well, it's absolutely not annoying, but payments size need some improve.

If you still haven't played Tropicali — go try it! Now!

This... this is it, peak porn gaming, and here's why:

-An actual attempt at a plot that is quite engaging
-Gorgeous, natural, and desirable girls with distinct personalities
-Actual enjoyable sandbox, not your standard "visit 500 locations, open 200 doors, and click random objects" gameplay
-Not only is the English excellent, well-written , and grammatically correct; at times it's poetic and even beautiful

This dev's last game was a very heartfelt affair, so safe to say I didn't know what to expect going into a game by them presented like this . Everything about this game is good, this dev just knows how to write memorable characters, be it quirky, dubious or heartfelt. The music is easily one of the most unique things about the game. I haven't encountered any bugs, the management part is good, I like how all the girls look a lot, and the humor lands more often then it doesn't. Just embraces what it is in a way that's sincere, and that makes it enjoyable. Can't wait for more.

It's rare to find a game like this where the management mechanics are actually fun on their own, but Tropicali manages to accomplish that. Add to that endearing characters, the right amount wtf, and great animations, and you've got a great, lighthearted game on your hands.

The basic premise is quite simple. Guy finds out his father was dictator on some island, has recently died, and he needs to go there to take care of his inheritance. We’ve all been there. Well, turns out your [REDACTED] already had plans for the place, and now you’ve got to somehow convince her to keep it. To do so, you’ve got to convince the locals, who all seem to be beautiful women in a twist no one saw coming, to help you run your new island resort. I’d go into how this turns out, and the hilarity involved, but it’s best experienced first hand.

As I’m reviewing this, only the first release has come out. But so far there is plenty of content to judge, and I rate it highly. Tropicali might not be the sprawling melodrama that we’re used to from Story Anon, but the polish is becoming of a veteran developer. If this game is even on your radar, you owe it to yourself to give it a try.

I've never wrote a review on here before, but had to just say that this game is incredible! It's my first exposure to Story Anon's games and I was blown away with the quality of this game. For it to be only a demo, it's still better than 99% of the games you'll find on here.

The pacing of the game is great. Where you're not getting all plot and none of the good stuff. I never found myself getting bored with the gameplay, or story between spicy moments. Even the good games can struggle with this in my opinion. The music is also shockingly good and catchy as hell. And as you probably tell from the pictures, the girls are gorgeous as well. All with very different personalities and designs.

This game is 100% deserving of a 5 star and I hope it stays at that. You guys definitely have a new fan here .

You wanted more Story Anon? You've got it!
You wanted a Story Anon sex focused game? You've got it!

    Tropicali
blends seamlessly two of my favorite things in the world: Story Anon's writing, and sexy girls. He maintains his superb style of writing, which has captivated me and never let me go. The sense of humor is also top notch.

The quality of the animations in this game is quite good, since it clearly doesn't use any stock animations. Shows time and heart was poured into the project.

I was also surprisingly satisfied with the gameplay. The UI and the mechanics were all easy to understand and get the hang of.

I'm excited to see this game flourish and reach the one hand of many more players. I think Anon truly deserves it.

Very pleasant music. The atmosphere of the tropics is warm and iridescent. Girls are diverse and hot. The MC is not a complete jerk and does not suffer from a swollen penis. Nice gaming experience.

For a demo version, this game has more content than most games in this genre have. There is something to compare. Therefore, a solid five.

    My bias and thoughts:
I'm a handholding, pat giving, hug-seeking fucko that mainly plays story driven games. I just happened to come across this dev's other game (OoT) which quickly became my #1. So I decided to try this. Like many management type games, I had preconceived notions that the game would just make you meet girls and just bang em right??? WRONG.....if the name "Story Anon" tells you anything it should be that like the name STORY comes first. Yes, lewds are easily attainable but it's done in such a way where it's still meaningful and you literally learn some stuff about the characters even during lewds. The game mechanics are fresh!!

    My thoughts on MC?
If birthing perfect MCs in a fictional adult game was a desirable societal trait, then this dev would have the status similar to that of a shogun during feudal Japan. The spanish MC matches the game's vibe perfectly. I didn't think he was cocky rather he has rizz and pizzazz which feels genuine to his character. The game also gives you option on how your MC reacts to certain things so you can mold him into more understanding guy as well.

Pros: Fuckton of stuff for a demo, Music is delightful, writing is marvelous with a clever usage of modern day references and humor, renders and animations are top notch for this style of art, sandbox is done greatly (no annoying roaming and time of day stuff), and characters/stories have depth, the game mechanics are not grindy and come off fresh.

Cons: Honestly NONE. For a demo, this much content and the quality is literally very very rare. Thank you so much for the effort and also to the testers.

Verdict: Absolutely play it! I have come across a lot of games (pun intended) and most easily lose appeal cuz they can't fill the void that I'm always left with. I couldn't care less if you pull the string in my pants, I want a game to tug at my heartstrings. And this game does that...but differently. Yes lewds are easy for some characters......but even for a demo all the LIs have established some depth with their unique personalities and their fair share of troubles. It genuinely makes you care about them and wants to learn more while at the same time playing a management style game to run businesses in an island.

(Insert Palpatine voice) We will watch your career with great interest.....

    Go play it already!

I started playing this game as a classic VN story, already preparing myself to skip most of the usual classic, boring and hollow dialogues and story events.

But, very quickly, as the first music of the introduction, i got curious for more. All those musics are so good !

The more I read, the more I learned that this game wasn't about a dumb story and chicks.

Well, actually it very much is. This story is as dumb and beautiful as a summer romance, and i'm all the way here for it.

It have a lot of love and care put into it. The music, animations and girls are beautifully made and thought. Girls are not some hollow shells. Dialogues are sweet and take their time to follow a pretty normal and balance progession. Not rushing into Smut and not batting us with it.

So yeah great game, thanks for this sweet story. I know the protagonist is going to fuck it all up, but i'm here for it. Keep up the good work!

If it wasn't for winter memories, this game would've been one of the best i've played in half a year or so.

Trust me, i'm not really into 3D games but the models in this game are amazingly well done, none of that koikatsu cookie cutter shit. Fluid animations, scenes are hot and there's a good enough management gameplay to top it off.
The only aspect i disliked a little bit was the music but it might not be the game's fault, nothing that some lo-fi on the background can't fix.

    so yeah, tl;dr: play it.

    Yeah it’s good
Graphics - Very pretty, somehow even the blond which I’m usually indifferent towards.
Gameplay (It has it ) - Stonks only go up, but you can make them go up faster.
Animations – Would love some more dialogue over these because I’m a degen, shaky cam is a little odd.
Humor – You can hire a Bob Semple tank nuf said.
    Sex – Plenty of it.
Dialogue – Doesn’t feel like a 12 year old came up with it in their mothers basement.

Incredibly solid demo that's more complete than 90% of the games uploaded here; good variety of girls and scenes, solid management gameplay, excellent writing. Really looking forward to a fuller release.

    Joey's Conscience

Wasn’t expecting a management game from the creator of “Out of Touch”, but here we are. While Tropicalli keeps the high standard of visuals and sound from its predecessor, the addition of proper gameplay, player choice, animations, and just more porn, makes this one of the most promising games on the site.

    Story:

You play the role of an MC that inherits a resort from his deceased father in the tropical island “Tropicalli”. There, you find your long lost [Redacted], who also having inherited the resort, sold it without your approval to a mysterious woman. Deciding to take the hotel back, you strike a deal with said woman, who lets you manage it in exchange for increasing sums of money, among other “services”.

So far, the premise is straightforward, but if the dev’s previous work is anything to go by, it will not stay that way for long. There’s already a lot of foreshadowing of dark twists to come, and I’m confident the dev can pull them off in interesting manners. That’s not to say the game takes itself too seriously, far from it. Lots of goofy humor and forth wall breaking in here. If you played OoT, you know what to expect.

Now I’ve been critical of OoT in the past for succeeding at being a compelling story, while being underwhelming at being a porn game. While a lot of improvements have been made since, I’d say this remains true. Tropicalli doesn’t have this issue. The lewds come early and often, but without sacrificing character development. The character tropes are well executed, and the writing is consistently solid.

    Design:

It’s a simple management game, where you can assign each girl (or tank) to the station that best suits their skills, level them up along with your business, earn money to expand and so on. You have a deadline to collect the payment money, but so far, I’ve never failed to meet it. There’s also a “coomer” mode that disables game overs if you don’t want to bother.

Each day, you get to choose a girl to spend time with, which is where the events and story take place. One clever way to blend events and management is the happiness system. Overworking your employees makes them unhappy, which makes them less effective. You can let them rest, or just hang out with them to make them happy again. Small touch but appreciated.

One concern I have with the design is how it’s going to handle player choice. The game implies player choice will have substantial consequences. As a completionist, I’m generally against mixing branching paths with sandbox and minigames. If you want to experience all the content from a game with multiple paths, having to replay the same minigame over and over can be a chore. If the game grows in complexity, I can see that being an issue, but so far, it’s simple enough that multiple playthroughs are not needed.

    Presentation:

OoT always had stellar visuals for a Koikatsu game, and this one retains the same art style. Great character designs coupled with great use of color to create something unique out of such a popular engine. New to this game though are sex animations, which provide a massive improvement from the static images of the previous game. These are custom made and high quality.

The soundtrack once again steals the show. In contrast to the vaporwave offerings of OoT, Tropicalli makes great use of Latin music to fit the aesthetic. I found myself humming some tracks several times.

    Conclusion:

Out of Touch is one of the most beloved games on the site, but one that requires a fair degree of commitment. If you were looking for some quick fap material, it wasn’t for you. This one is far less apologetic in being a porn game, which makes it more accessible and easier to recommend. As far as harem games go, unless you have a strong aversion to minigames, it’s hard to go wrong with this one. Great visuals, characters and animations, a banger soundtrack and a promising story.

First off, despite the post saying v0.4, the game files, and game itself both call this version a demo. Which is crazy, because there is a LOT of content for a Demo.

    Visuals:

The visuals are good not great, some animations are a bit funky, but overall the characters all look nice and the backgrounds and UI are pleasant to look at.

    Writing:

Some of the best writing I've ever seen in a porn game. Normally I have trouble reading a bunch of flavor text and conversations in games like these, but not this one. The characters are all funny and likeable (even the stereotypical 'bitch' characters).

    Plot:

I don't put too much stock in porn game plots, but this one is fairly grounded and makes sense, which is pretty impressive for this website.

    Gameplay:

Theres not much actual 'gameplay' it's more like a VN with small management. Maybe future versions will change this, but at the moment it's pretty basic.

This game came out fairly quick with a ton of great images, awesome music, and a pretty-good management mini-game. The art has always looked great but the collaboration for animations is pretty top-notch. Hope to see way more in the future as it already looks pretty promising.

    REVIEW OF v0.4

    So far, so good.

I was never big into his other project due to the immense slow burn it has, but I think StoryAnon strikes a much better balance here in terms of the pacing of the interpersonal relationships between the MC and the love interests. In my opinion, this is some of his best work yet in terms of character writing and development without simultaneously feeling sluggish. Jessica, Yuko, and Mio are particularly good here; Mio is a truly fascinating character, I can’t wait to learn more about her and possibly see that shell continue to break down.

The MC is kind of a dick but that’s clearly the point here. I’m glad that there’s an actual arc happening with his character as well, and I’m interested to see how much the player’s decisions will ultimately matter in terms of shaping him into either a kind-hearted harem owner or a corrupt and depraved one like his father. Perhaps the answer is a bit more gray than that.

Pretty much all the characters stand out from one another and have their own unique quirks. Some definitely work better than others, personal preference will play a factor. But I do think there’s definitely a little something for everyone and that says a lot in itself.

StoryAnon’s renders continue to be the best I’ve ever seen using Koikatsu. I wish more devs on this site understood the importance of lighting/shading. The animations are great as well. Some sound effects would definitely be nice though.

Speaking of sound, the soundtrack is fantastic. Very relaxing music that fits the culture of these characters and their stories well.

The management side of the gameplay doesn’t really do a whole lot for me. It’s there. It exists. It’s fine. But nothing groundbreaking by any means.

For a first demo, there’s honestly a lot of content here to enjoy, probably 4-6 hours worth depending on your pace. And a solid amount of it is lewd scenes which is quite refreshing.

I’m interested to see where this project goes and where StoryAnon decides to take this intriguing cast of characters. If this good pacing keeps up, it could very easily turn into a 5 star game for me. Even as is, I recommend giving this one a go.

Tropicali is a very interesting game, didn't expect to be a management but i was pleasantly surprised with it all.
The characters are interesting as hell and the game has some really funny moments together with another extremely fun sound track.

i really likedmy time with [REDACTED]
