Yes. This is one of the first hentai games. On fact I think it is the first one I ever played. Such good times.

This one came at least ten years after the first hentai games. It came out in '95, but they were out there in the 80s, though those early ones never really came out in English like this one did.

Hell, Koei, Enix, Nihon Falcom, and Square all got their start doing porn games back in the early 80s before they went 'legit'!

Just pointing out, there is another walkthrough that was done by someone called Vendetta (all the way back in 1999, which is probably before some of you guys were even born, and that makes me feel old as hell) that tells you exactly what activities to do for each day. You follow the guide and you can get every single girl, though there is a money cheat that you might need that I'm not sure whether or not it works for this version. I guess you could try it anyway...

oh I loved that game so much in the 90s! I am always looking for games similar to this one for the training elements. Workouts to appeal to the sport chick, work on your style to raise your good looks, study to appeal to the elitist smart girl, work to earn money ect. Does anyone know of other games with a similar system?

Hard to say since True love is one of a kind. You still can grab some of the feeling on others games.
From the top of my head, i should say your best choice should be Tokimeki memorial. Same year, not hentai, and its the game True Love got based on. There is a port to PSP patched to english. This genre got a lot of games in japan, but since its got so much text, its really hard to find a translation.
Someone told me about Tokimeki Check in! as a hentai version of those, but i never played it.

On the visual novel side, three sister´s story, seasons of sakura, Runaway city, nocturnal illusion and divi-dead are also from 90´s and always spots on the same lists as True Love, mostly about the same art style and the nostalgia feeling (tough the last two got a more dark aproach and dont have the high school vibe).

If you go for RPG, Knights of Xentar and Cobra Mission also got it (Cobra mission have his own value also for being a JRPG in future setting without turn combat system).
I also remember of Maid´s Story. A totaly different setting, but have some time management and hentai.

Princess maker is another nice non hentai management game from the same decade. On his hentai counterpart, the closest thing i can think on a gameplay like is SimplyMind (pixart hentai), but with a totaly different feeling on the story (since game plays in hell).
Stretching a little to much, you can go for brothel games since they usualy have time management (Strive for power, Slave Maker, Wicked Rouge)

Also i usualy see katawa shoujo popping up everytime i search for true love. Its a very specific VN, but people say its realy tender on the history side.

Thank you for the list! Ive played most of the games you mentioned but that tokimoki game sound promising, i'll give that one a try. Three sister story was my first VN and I loved it to death. I must have replayed it a million time. That 4 mb game on my dial up connection took half a day if not more to download haha.

Tokimeki Check-in! was a lot of fun back then too, and I remember the art being something else at the time, as well as a surprising amount of audio.

Wow, this was the game that introduced me to eroge in general, I adored it and was sad that I couldn't find a working copy years later.

The graphics are a bit dated by todays standards but its still a great story and a really fun game to play, I highly recommend it.

I have been lurking around these forums for years and only now decided to make my first post when I saw this one come up with a remaster.

I'm an idiot. I left out a word before first hentai. "My" One of MY first hentai games. I know this isn't THE first.

Some thoughts on good games from that general time period. Well, maybe not all, but some good classic ones anyway.

Season of the Sakura is good. Some of the girls are notoriously hard to reach their ending with. I mean, really hard. Though there is also one girl that is easy to get, and interactions with her were genuinely funny.

As to the remaster of True Love, it does bring back the memories. Too often in sim games you see the need for HIGH stats, but this one actually lets you grab a girl only if you have certain low stats.

Tokimeki Check-In, if you're trying to 100% it, warning, one of the girls has two sets of images. If you let her get molested, you get access to one set. If you keep her from being molested you get the other set. IE you can't get all her images on one playthrough.

Nocturnal Illusion was a good game, and honestly, a few changes here and there to remove the sex scenes and you could still have a great story. If you can get the Jast Memorial, it should be a bit easier to get it running on a more modern system.

Divi-Dead, to those who haven't played it, there is some gore. And early parts of the game do seem a bit sluggish. But the atmosphere is just great.

Another good classic, which really makes you think (and is a bit weird) is Yu-No. Not the remake, that stripped all the hentai out of it (I still haven't tried it to see how abysmally bad it is). The original. Though a warning, there is a point in the game that the interface changes drastically (near the end of the game). And it does have a number of puzzles to solve (actually a lot of puzzles). But, its a good game nonetheless.

Runaway City (may be the runaway referenced) has some very dark tones to it. I can't remember the exact things it did, but it moved into creepy and disturbing.

Now that I've been reminded of these classics, I'm gonna have to bust out Season of the Sakura. It's just one of those fun games you can return to.

Oh man, what a blast from the past!
It's one of the first few adult games I've played back in the 6th grade!!
Still a bummer that I couldn't get the catgirl no matter what I did though, even though I was somehow able to make a harem, sort of.
Can't wait to see how the remastered version plays up!
