I really like playing through html games. The text nature of it just feels nicer over other forms in a general sense. But I've had a problem of my saves disappearing when moving my PC twice now. I will soon be moving my PC again, and so I want to get ahead of the issue and somehow export all my sugarcube saves.

From what I see in my search, there doesn't seem to be a dedicated save location. The saves are kept in the local storage of the browser? I understand this but being unable to find this local storage location (or any information on it) is very annoying. I'm sure there is a specific location, albeit probably with obscure file names. I even remember somehow getting to these files previously (tho I might be confusing something else here).

Is there any way to access sugarcube save files? Specifically in firefox?

Bonus question: assuming I copy these files to the new PC, if I'm exporting from windows to linux, do you reckon there will be any compatibility issues?

why dont you save to disk? then you can move around the save files as you want.

even if you arent moving saves, it's a wise thing to regularly save your html games to disk (if you want to avoid losing your progress) as your local storage could be cleared and saves lost without warning. it happens.

Yeah that'd solve this for sure but I've got a bunch of games that I haven't saved to disk yet. So I'm looking for a method to export in batch instead of one by one. Plus my saves generally have 5+ save states serving as checkpoints. So assuming I have to export 10 games, each with 5 saves, I'd have to manually export 50 save files. It's more than that but that's the conservative estimate.

Again, I'm just trying to make sure there is no way of completing this in one go. Worst case I'll rely on saving to disk.
