RPGM. If these 4 letters scare you, worry not! This game is customized to make RPGM closer to Renpy than starndard RPGM. It has every functionality of Renpy except a roll back. There is no walking around. This is a straight up VN with choices. A very polished one at that.

The biggest selling point is the writing. Other reviews touched on the native speaker aspect, but even among native speakers, there are the average Joes like you and I, and then there are actual writers. I bet the writer for this game has experience writing fiction, because the prose is quite excellent. Descriptive texts are beautiful and vivid. The characters really come to life here. Even the Orc and Goblin duo that is mostly for comic relief show some endearing characteristics. The writing during sex scenes are very, very erotic. I personally prefer a more dialogue heavy approach to sex scenes, but the descriptive text here is done in a way that really adds to the scene.

The art is probably self explanatory since everyone can look at the previews. I think it looks extremely good. It looks like a even blend of anime and western styles. There are lots of dynamic movement of the sprites during conversations to simulate movement. It looks really polished and adds some life to the "floating sprite" scenes.

The plot should be pretty familiar to most. It's about a dark lord who lost much of his powers trying to regain his former glory. Nothing too revolutionary here, but the world building is done very well.

If you like dark lord rising type of stories, give this one a shot.

a weird example of an h-game that has good writing (except in the sex scenes) but is bogged down by it. there are so many words, man. there's a scene in chapter 2 where you're introduced to the princess of the dwarves (I think, never got far enough in to confirm), and her no-name elf archer bodyguard spends eight or more text boxes explaining their entire spy mission to the empty air before the scene moves on.

i can't help but feel like Black Smut Software wants to write a book as opposed to a full game. Tyrant Quest is probably the least interactive VN i've ever played; it leans very far into the "novel" part of "visual novel." the only input I had as a player throughout my time in the first few chapters was picking one of two text options every once in a while.

Tyrant Quest wasn't for me, which is a goddamn shame, because h-games with authors who genuinely care about writing more than shitty doujin "your cock is so big inside of my pussy" dialogue are a rarity. the 400k+ words that have gone into it are a testament to that, but I wonder how many of them are necessary. a good writer is a good editor, after all.

The most noteworthy aspect of this game is how well written it is -- in fact, it's almost poetic at times. The imagery and attention to detail in the text adds a nice touch that many VNs lack, but there is still plenty of erotic encounters to keep it interesting both plot-wise and sexually. The artwork of the characters is clean and the scenes themselves are great. Attention to facial expressions with a bit of ahegao is a plus for me. The music isn't groundbreaking but it's certainly better than generic RPGM music and can be pleasant to listen to. Sound effects are well placed and help add immersion.

There is also replay potential, because it's not easy (or impossible) to unlock every CG with a single playthrough. There is a summary at the end of each chapter that shows potential scenes and whether or not you've unlocked them, as well as meters which indicate your relationships with each character. A harem route also exists that requires some thoughtfulness, as those scenes seem to only unlock if have made specific choices and built up intimacy with your followers to an adequate level.

It's not a finished game but there is already hours of content and definitely worth a play-through for anyone who is a fan of domination/harems and engaging stories.

this is a very intriguing game. the art style feels like it is Japanese even though it isn't, and i am not saying that as a knock as pretty much all art(CG, Backgrounds, and Character art) is actually very good. the story is also quite well done, it takes its time to build but makes sure that you are never bored at any point, and it manages to make a good mixture of you feeling like you are playing a villain, while at the same time making it clear that your enemies are not heroes either no matter what they claim. there are multiple love interests too, each unique and enjoyable to interact with. All in all, I highly recommend this game.

Quite possibly the best written VN I've played in a long while. The art also sets the bar high for future VNs, especially those in a high fantasy setting. Each of the girls the player can woo are unique, memorable, and worth playing their routes for. Looking forward to what Black Smut have in store for future releases.

Absolutely worth your time.

The writing in this game is absolutely amazing. Like top 10 H game writing, and I played almost everything worth playing.
You really start to like and care about all the characters.

The art is good enough, although it could be better. The girls are different from each other, and all of them hot AF in their own way. I suspect everybody has a different favorite.

The gameplay is kinda lacking honestly, but it doesn't really matter. Maybe the dev could incorporate different management minigames but that could easily backfire.

All in all great game, would reccomend/10

An enjoyable story driven VN. RPGM isn't the most efficient way of making this game, but the creator is still using it quite effectively. Also it has quality art work (not just reusing the same DAZ models like most games do)

I definitely recommend giving this game a play through. It has a decent amount of content for the amount of time it’s been out. The writer actually comprehends the english language (and in my opinion does a great job at building an interesting world. Plus I’m a sucker for the fantasy setting we definitely need more quality stuff in that genre!

Graphics are awesome, I like the art it's really well made one of the best styles I've seen.

Writing is good, the way the game tells a story is really captivating well done writer!

The story is good, I've seen games that focus on the return of the dark lord for different reasons, even if this is not completely original I like how it's done.

The overall game is really good, the way thing are presented, the characters, the sounds, the movement, deserving someting like 4.5 stars

It's a visual novel written by a native english speaker featuring hot girls who aren't your relatives. Fucking sold.

The scenario is that you are an Overlord-esque dark lord returning after having been sealed away from the forces of good. Feels like a classic fantasy yet this is the first time I've seen it done well in a porn game. The writing is suitable for the tone of the story, even if it slips into purple prose sometimes it's still miles better than 95% of the games on this site.

On a more macro level the game has hit the major plot beats you would expect from this kind of story. You start out weakend and have to find a safe lair and rebuild your forces while spredding discord among your enemies. Good stuff.

The girls are fairly attractive and fit well into evil girl archetypes (always the hottest ones) and are already fighting for your favour. More of that please.

At the time of writing the game is still fairly short but what's there is very nice and there should be one good wank in there for you at the very least.
I'll be following this project with a keen interest. It's the kind of game I could see myself supporting on patreon if I had any money...

Short, but very nice. What I have seen is really good from the story and art. Looks promising. While it's the RPGM, it plays more like VN with all necessary buttons for skipping text, showing backlog and performance is good even on my old potato pc. Animations are nice, the story is pretty generic at first. but very well written. Recommended!

Dude literally just made a Ren'py game in RPGM, even though it's more of a slideshow.
The "chapter I" consists of 2 very short sex scenes, and your only choice in it is to reduce the amount to 1.
If these red flags are not enough, the art style, while might be appealing to some people, is objectively lazy. I can't say much in terms of writing as the story seemed your cookie cutter, generic villain story so i just went ahead and skipped most of it.
Would not recommend.

Not much of a game as of yet, actually only one decision, but a whole lot of story and text.

However, the story concept is interesting, the art is good, as is the writing. Looking forward to more and getting some more actual choices.
