They weren't kidding when they named this "living with my sister". In essence, Uchikano is a title about a couple "shooting the breeze" on subjects such as food, studies, work, shopping, holidays, and going on about their daily lives. There's almost nothing going on plotwise, the whole thing stands on the shoulders of the cute heroine, and then they have some nice vanilla H-scenes to fill the quota. Is any of that bad? No, but it feels incredibly mundane and uninspired.
Positive:
- Good H-scenes (quantity too); Nice heroine (childish, girly, confident, lively, sweet...); Visually OK for 2018; Voice acting is fine; Lots of options (technical side of things is strong); OST has many tracks.
Negative:
- Slice of life is painfully dull; Humour is dry, not clever; There's no real story to speak of; References to Japanese "specifics" don't help the VN; Protagonist has one of the dumbest traumas in the history of fiction; This doesn't have the appeal of a specialized "Galge", and it's not entertaining like a "Rom-Com" (moege), it feels like an unfortunate bastard.
Score: Uchikano - Living With My Sister is a 6/10, and a decent VN, but personally the score would be lower, and this type of VN doesn't work for me. I know there's an audience for whatever's accomplished here, and if you think you could be a part of it, then by all means give this a go.
