Errors amount of files before compression is bigger than amount of files after compression?
Kirikiri XP3 game, standard setting.

The game goes into main menu without error, free mode runs fine.
But main menu doesn't have yellow glitter effect, and new game give this error.


pretty amazing that 12.9GB turn into 2.4GB

To fix y00.ks error u probably need to enable "Compress images to png instead jpg" feature since it seems those game don't support jpg. About files amount mismatch (before/after compression) this is probably coz some file names inside xp3 contains "#" (and non latin names too but it just would be skipped) that lua scipt based engine of UAGC don't likes. Anyway xp3 compressor needs non-latin fix so maybe it would fix some compression problems when I'll implement it.

The compression deleted a "comment" which is metadata inside .png


my 3 step method compressing Artemis engine game Stella Of the End:

1. unpack .pfs using
   You must be registered to see the links
   (drag .pfs file to the pfs_upk.exe).

For root.pfs.000, change the extension for example to root.pfs.000.pfs

2. pack .pfs using

   (drag folder to the pfs_upk.exe)

It's compressed from 2.7GB into 1.26GB

The only issue is that metadata missing after compression using custom game engine, causing image loaded to top-left corner.

I think I've fixed it in next UAGC version that already uploading here but game size would be 4Gb.

For RenPy avif/AV1 compressor added support for av1_nvenc - very fast video encoder (about 300fps on 1080p videos with RTX 4070 GPU vs ~30fps with VP9 on i7-8700 not to mention that comparing same size AV1 would have better quality, to adjust it change -qp value: bigger = smaller bitrate) for NVIDIA RTX 40x0, also added ability of building with newer RenPy SDK versions but using v7.6.x is not recommended.

For xp3 compressor added "non latin fix" feature with auto activation for games with non latin file names, "compress images to png instead jpg" feature enabled by default.

Updated some tools. For patch makers fixed empty folder deletion in some cases.

as expected, i checked some compressed .xp3, most .wmv are not in those 2GB compression.

Pingo is better compression solution for png files than nconvert, for jpg its almost equal, to make pingo keep metadata it needs to add "-nostrip" command, I'll probably implement it for custom compressor in next UAGC version.

I'm pretty sure u didn't tested, error in traceback says "error: Unsupported image format" coz ancient RenPy in game don't supports webp so I'm thinking regarding this game and my tool: is this game deserves some workaround or at least warning implemeted since many compressors get this problem with it or just note in UAGC OP that I've added now is enough?

Yeah, thought I tested it. Could went under when I compressed all those games together. I just compressed it again. This time it works. Thanks for the info.

Yeah u're right, I'll see what I can do in this case and would try to fix it in next UAGC version.

one question, where do you save the compressed file? i am using tyrano builder when it finishes a sound is played but it does not say in which folder it was saved.

What do you mean? It saves it in the same folder it compresses the game from and overwrites it.

i have a game in tyrano builder it weighs 2 gb when i click on compress nothing happens it is still 2 gb or has it something to do with the images being PNG and not rpgmvp
