VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Under the Moonlight [v1.0] [Cainito Studio]

Good that it gave a warning about being a short game, the plot is just enough to build up the scenes, and the graphics are decent. I can see building into a solid longer game, as long as the author can keep the logic straight.

The art is fantastic... except the MC's junk. Never seen anyone render so much hair for a male MC in all my life. The animations are choppy, clearly the developer didn't render enough images for smoother animation work. The stories are, uh... something else entirely.

I don't know why I expected at least one of the endings to be relatively normal, silly me. Both LI options seem like they've been drinking a little too much of the Ayahuasca. Of course with the shitty week the MC has had of course he's going to tell them all, every single one of them, that they're perfectly sane and rational.

I'm only going to take away one star for the story because the developers did mention this was primarily a way to showcase their work. Granted, that includes writing which was subpar... but whatever.

Ending is meh, just a very short story with almost zero payoff. Renders and sex scenes are the redeeming features, but man I didn't care for either of the females at all.

My suggestion is to collaborate with a text based writer for the dialogue and story, just stay focused on the models and music.

Short summary:


This is very short demo, showcasing art and writing power of the “studio”. Art department can take this as a win. Nothing spectacular, but women are pretty and renders have nice feel, even if they are not very detailed. Writing team takes an L here. They are trying to go for a poetic style, with deeper meaning implied and some mystery. But then in less than half an hour the girl sucks you off in the forest. It’s rushed and meaningless.

I don't even know what to say. This game honestly felt like a fever dream. my first playthrough was with the Woman, and i dont think i understood a single thing. Honestly It reminds me of a poem almost, it supposed to be the beautiful story, with a deep meaning however im just not one of the people that can see the beauty of poems or short stories, with deeper meanings, and i was never good at context clues and reading between the lines. The ending with the waitress was better and made more sense, her dad was similar to the MC. I guess they got married as well? I also got the not so sweet ending.

Renders were honestly average at best, pretty blurry and some renders had grain to them. Nothing extra-ordinary . The Character Models themselves were great, both look amazing.

All in all, this game was sorta weird, it was super short, i dont see a reason for you not to play it. It took maybe 30 minutes for all 3 routes. So if you are running out of games to play and want a nightcap or something play this?

Sweet, very short VN. Fastastic art. And remarkable the music track as well. The woman, beautiful and elegant. Definitely waiting for future works from the artist that made this.

oh my god I love this game so much. It shows me that a complete and long story is not necessary for a good work at all. Its unique style really makes me speechless, and you just cant guess where the story is going (except the lewd part of course) , like cat chasing and two moons (i dont know why i love the scenes that there are more than 1 moon shining up in the dark cloudless sky so much). the dialogues are just the right quality, neither too tedious nor too hard to understand, and unexpectedly poetic. Not to mention the high quality art , together with writing and music, makes me so calm and so relief, especially in the silent midnight when i play it. Its a completely new adult VN experience that brings new feeling and emotions. GOOD JOB dev, I love your work and thank you for making it

The storytelling of the game was amazing. I really loved the background stories of the characters. It adds depth to the game. The art was also charming and beautiful. Looking for the next game and story to release.

TL;DR: A demo that showcases the strengths of those working on this game.

[4/5] Renders: The only part of this game which I can review with confidence is in the quality of the renders, which are overall quite good. There's been plenty of work put into the characters, the scene, and in editing. The only significant critique I have is that some textures are quite low resolution, which does take away from the overall quality of the game.

[+0/5] Animations: This game does have animations, but they're not all that great. They feel too fast and are a very low framerate. I ultimately do not feels that these animations add to the experience of the game in any significant way.

[*] Thoughts: Because of this game's length, it's very hard to write a proper review for it. You don't get attached to the characters, nor do you get sucked into the world or story, but what this game does show is promise. It shows that any future work by these developers will be high quality.

I really don't know what kind of review I should write about that VN. On one hand the renders were good and the story/characters mystery was intriguing enough keep me interested in seeing it develop, especially after the previous update ending with the mysterious woman and the two moons and the cat in the forest. On the other hand, that last and final update made absolutely no sense and completely destroyed everything that was being built so far. It does not feel like a natural ending, in fact, it feels like someone got tired of the game and decide to scrap it, but instead of just abandoning it, decide to make a quick "conclusion" just so they could say "hey, the game has been finished".

A short story that showcases the talent housed in Cainito Studio. Renders, writing and the actual story are top notch. The ending is decent.. but I wonder just how far this could have gone if the DEV had decided to run with it. Looking forward to more from this team.

A short review of a short game

The game (or better: demo) somehow did it to me. The graphics/renders are well done. And the two women are just gorgeous. I also liked the implied mysterious, it's all very atmospheric and fits well. Maybe only average: the animations.

Actually a pity that it's already over again. But I'm looking forward for the next project.

I agree with Walnut. The visuals are cool, but the story feels like an over-edited movie, or a sketch instead of a painting.

And there is a deep, meaningful idea, but the expression is rather symbolic than realistic. So I'd say it's a nice little drawing, but not the life in flesh.

Not a bad start to the VN. The renders look nice and the main woman is GORGEOUS. Seriously one of the best looking women I've seen in a VN on this site. The only downside is that the story feels rushed and jumpy. It's hard to explain but the flow just doesn't feel right like when a movie is over edited and it breaks your immersion. Still, would recommend just for the aesthetic alone.
