Ironically, you have cut off the part of the directory where the mod goes when applied correctly, so I'm just guessing from the archives being in the wrong directory that you misunderstood the instructions.

Side note: Only use ONE version (soft/hard) at the same time, not both!

1) The root folder of the game is where the .exe is. This is where you put the archive of your choosing. Not in the "game" directory
2) Choose "Extract here"! Don't choose any other extract option, or you will have to move the mod folder yourself. It's easiest to choose the correct option right here.
3) You can check if you did it correctly by going into the "game" directory now. The very first thing should be a directory called _mod, quite like so:

Literally just tried it to see if it worked, so if that is not what you're seeing, you went wrong somewhere.

Use joiplay and download the the PC version of the game. Then paste it into the "game" folder of the game.
