I have a request to all people (who plays in android platform or uses joiplay emulator) in this thread - please Search joiplay in this thread - before requesting it or asking questions which are answered already several times. 0x52 already has a lot on his plate making and debugging this mod and in trying to make it even more better. It will be favor to him if we do not ask out of topic questions in this thread. Also, I would like to request 0x52 to put this post or the search I linked to put on the OP so that android users can find it useful. That way he will not have cater to these triffles in future.

Thank you. It's often quite hard to keep track of everything happening in this thread and reply to everybody. But I try my best.
Also... I think people who don't search the thread will probably also not read the OP. But I also have to say it can be quite hard to find something. Sometimes when I know I've answered something before it's even hard for me to find the previous post.

Lately, I have been thinking about improving this structure. So everybody is better able to see/find features requests (hopefully even vote for them) and have a better overview of frequently asked questions and issues.
But the would of course mean that's going to be on a separate platform and not on this site.

Wondering if its possible to Wildcard Search a list for relevant values ?

eg. search all instances in a list called Events[x] for property Events[1].Done = False ?

I'm not completely sure what you're looking for.
Maybe it's the "recursive search" option? With this your first search would be for "events" and the next could be for "done", which will list all variables that include both "events" and "done".

Like theMickey_ said. If you want help, ask in a normal way! I actually just wanted to ignore this, because of the large text, but because I don't appreciate devs blocking mods, I decided to make a quick workaround.

Grab the attached file and extract it into the "game" folder.
I think this is the best approach for this. The attached script catches if the game tries to quit and gives you the option to prevent/cancel that.

After developing Ren'Py mods for almost a year now. I thought is was time to create the mod of all mods.
So here is what I call URM (or Universal Ren'Py Mod). The goal of this mod is to enable anyone (even without any programming knowledge) to be able to quickly and easily mod any Ren'Py game.
Just drop the mod file into your favorite game's "game" directory and start modding!

Please let me know what you think. I really appreciate any feedback, so I know I'm not doing this for nothing.

WARNING!
You could break your game modifying any variable. Use at your own risk!
Breaking the game depends on the game's programming. You could create set of values the game doesn't expect. Which for example could prevent you to progress in the game or miss certain scenes. I would recommend saving before modifying. So you could always go back if something unexpected happens.

Side image is not working in City Devil Restart for custom textboxes

I think it's because how those side images are implemented in this game: they're not just small, single profile pictures per character (which I would assume URM could have used), but instead they're full blown 1920x1080 "overlay images" which are transparent with the exception of the character at the correct position for the default textbox and are put "above" the actual in-game picture whenever there is a dialogue.

Here's an example "side image" of May from the game:

What happened? All we can see is a screenshot of URM's menu. Please fill out a proper bug report if you actually want to get some help.

Reporting an issue
When reporting an issue with URM, please include the information below:

• Are you using the latest version of URM?
• Which game has the issue (preferable a link to the game's thread)
• If it's a crash (grey screen) attach the "traceback.txt" file
• What did you do that caused the issue?
• Attach a screenshot of the issue (if possible)
• When URM gave an error (not a grey crash screen), check the log.txt file for lines starting with "0x52:"
• What OS are you on?
• Do you have any other mods installed? Does the issue still exist without the other mod(s)?

Again: the picture simply shows the interface of URM with an active search (and no results) -- but without knowing what game you're playing, what you're trying to do, we can't help you. We can't see what's going on on your device, we can't read your mind, so please do a proper bug report (see above) and describe your issue as detailed as you can if you need help.

I notice you have enabled all search options, which includes "recursive search" and "wildcard search". That might be your problem?

Hey there, could you please add an option to set position of side images like how I can set the position of text?

The side images are at the extreme corner. I mostly keep text at middle so the side images look weird with that much space between side image and text.

It's on my list to add the possibility to center the textbox without centering the text (so with empty space to the left and right).
This would also include the option to move the sideimage next to the text.

That's great. is it possible to have a global setting for custom textbox so that as soon as I choose 'enable' my global custom textbox kicks in?

What is the name of the variable to change it from normal to Bum?

Sorry for my English, I use the translator. In this game in question you have two looks, a normal one (where you have clean hair and beard) and another beggar (where you have torn clothes and big hair and a beard). I know that using this mod you can change these modes, but I don't know the name of the variable, I've looked for it but nothing helps.

I've tried to disable those checks, but even then the game just closes again after a couple of screens. It's because the developer seem to have added those checks at certain points because they really, really don't want you to use any mods.

Challenge accepted!

Attached you'll find a fix for The Hard Way version 0.31.01 (will most probably not work with any future version), and here's how you can get it working:

1. You'll have to "unren" your game (make sure URM isn't installed at that time)
2. Download the attached file, and extract it into the game folder
3. Add URM
4. Run the game and enjoy
