Is the mod working in that Lucky Bastard game? And for this invalid syntax error it's happening cuz the code is written using new features of python3 and won't work on the python 2 based engine yet.

yep it works with Lucky bastard but the variables are messy and can't bet on long term effects

Check the engine version first. If it's below renpy 8.x series then the mod won't work.

The feature’s already live in the current mod. Thing is, sometimes it falls back ’cause multiple detection strategies can fail at the same time. I need to harden the logic so it consistently returns what you're expecting.

This is the log for the old version. I know it's after two months, but I forgot about it and remembered now when a new update of the game came out.

Fixed the issue you can try again. Since the `urw_screens.rpy` was causing issue, you only have to replace it with the latest one. And remove the old mod v1.6 files as I can see from the screenshot you're still using it. If for some reason the walkthrough isn't showing anything go to debug tab and toggle it. Test on some menus and copy the debug info then report me.

I am pretty sure that this game doesn't use Ren'Py's native menu system, the dev perhaps is using custom menu like call screen.... Can you share one script file with me `for example script2.rpy`, I want to check whether this game contains any menu: block or not. If it's not using Ren'Py's menu system then the system won't work.

Yeah, I was correct you can see this game doesn't use Ren'Py menu block system for choice screen. The line `call screen scene43_choice05`.

When I roll back from a choice, it rolls to the exact image with the choice, but with the mod disabled. And if you keep rolling back, it sends you to the main menu.
Additionally, when I load a safe, it loads as if the mode is off, and sometimes sends me to the main menu.

I've tried to do all this with toggle debug on, and everything works perfectly, and all the errors I mentioned above don't appear.
