VN - Ren'Py - Unraveling August [v0.3.04] [AugustEsoterica]

Full of potential. Just hoping that you're not gonna rush the pace too much, good things take time. Slowly build up the characters' relationships and developments would be great. Anw just small pieces of opinions, do what you want chad, great game, great game.

Nice beginning of a game. Not only sex scenes, but also a real story. Sometimes there is a lot of thinking involved, but that makes it more realistic. I liked it so much that I decided to do a German translation of it.

A promising start. The characters have true chemistry and the scenes are very funny. Something to keep an eye out for if you're into character driven stories.
The speed at which things escalate feels a bit forced, probably because the developer wanted to have at least 1 sex scene in the first episode

The only game I've subbed to off of first release. A short first release, but the quality is easily seen in the render quality and writing. Some of the UI is a bit off in terms of sizing as noted, but its really a very minor thing. Looking forward to future releases!

Few games earn my support as a patron right out the gate, and even fewer at a tier higher than whatever the most basic is for that Patreon campaign. This is one of those very few.

The writing here is top-notch so far. Great visuals. And the first lewd scene of the game is fucking outstanding. I cannot wait to get more of this particular title. I expect this will be a must-play after just a few releases.

Review for v0.1

A bit short, but a very impressive start as far as first versions go. The dialogue is witty, fun, and competent. The girls are cute and loveable, the renders look nice, and the MC seems like a good one as well. Its even already got a banging soundtrack that really adds to the game.

If I hadn't read the overview I'd have no idea where the story was going. That sort of plot hook just isn't present in this version. Hard to speak on that part of the game as of now.

What's making me cautiously optimistic instead of just optimistic is the pacing with the love interests. One version in and our definitely-not-sister is helping us get a blowjob from our other definitely-not-sister. I'd be lying if I said that scene and the making out scene weren't hot (That little couch confession moment was something else), but I normally like to have some actual buildup before getting stuff like that. Honestly I expected the option to do it was a fake out and you'd get blue balled either way, but then the scene just happens lol. I'm going to give this the benefit of the doubt for now and hope it doesn't turn into a fuckfest, as the dev seems to be going for something deeper than that.

I'll also say regardless of pacing, I liked that the game included some bi/lesbian elements in that scene. I think it's hot and a lot of AVNs seem afraid of including stuff like that.

Definitely going to keep an eye on this one. I can easily see it turning into something great. Just need to see a bit more before I'd give it that missing star.

I have no idea where this is going, but it's an amazing start that left me upset there wasn't more already. It seems top tier with good dialog, amazing girls, and fun scenes. It's actually hard to write a long enough review with the current content, but I'm excited for more content.

I really liked the game the plot itself is lamp-like, it's nice to read the characters themselves are very cool made in general, the game turned out to be even very cool and super good luck and success to you and that the game gained a lot of fans and subscribers

Decent intro.
Really short even for a 0.1V or maybe i was used to a little longer first versions.

Not much story yet but it looks good so far.

The models are nice and thankfully the author didn't settle for the generic HS2 model for the MC.

Liked and didn't liked much the thirst for intimacy of one of the characters (a conundrum of sorts i have with her).
BUT so far it has promise, will edit and update my review in the future.

Great visuals, a story that has some potential and some.. slightly repetitive music but i'm hoping that will improve as volumes go by..
The hook for me was the quality of the visuals tho and the fact even using Honey Select 2 you managed to get a non typical (to this render maker standards) fresh looking MC..

While it's just the prologue, I wanted to give it a 5-star rating to help the developer gain more attention.

Besides the visuals, the one thing that I value with VNs and games on this site is the quality of the writing, and sadly far too many developers lack a talent for it, or their ESL shows through.

Not to disparage the effort those other developers put into their projects, but nothing takes me out of an experience quite like writing that doesn't flow very well, or is full of Engrish.

Thankfully, the dev here really did a good job on that front. The dialogue is well-written, the three characters introduced so far all have their own voice, they actually talk to each other like normal humans (in the context of a porn game). It all feels really solid.

If there's one minor ciriticsm, it's that the characters are a tad too verbose, which I can see some people not liking.

The visuals themselves are a mixed bag - the backgrounds are rough, but do the job well enough, while the female characters, which are the important part here, look very good. Also, a big plus for the fit girl being the first one we get introduced to.

Criticism here is that the MC looks kinda bland and expressionless, but that's an issue most of these games seem to suffer from so I don't want to hold it against the dev. At least the protagonist looks the part.

As for the plot itself, it's nice to have a protagonist that isn't a complete loser and creep, and while the direction the plot is going towards hasn't crystalized yet, I'm interested enough to see where it's going.

All in all, a very promising start for a project, and doubly impressive because it's the first game developed by the author.

Rather short v1 but so far the renders are nice, there is sound, a lewd scenes, and light animation (more like transitions to look like animation) The girls are pretty, the writing is good, their personalities are interesting, the MC doesnt look like a horrible male honey select freak. There isnt much plot in the game at all but based on the OP description it seems interesting.

While the game is still in its infancy (about 1hour give or take depending on your reading speed), I've decided to still do a review, as the game seems to have some potential.

The renders are very decent, and the girls very lovable.
Nothing complicated so far, and while the story's not the most original thing, it works well for now.

I did not give a full 5 stars, simply due to the fact the girls are not your sisters, while they certainly could have been. I'll expect a moder to remedy that shortly though, as there would be very minor changes needed for it to happen.

This one seem to have potential (pending future tags of course), as we all know things can look awesome at first, and turn to terrible things later.
But for now, I'll certainly be keeping a close eye on this one.
