Unreal Engine - Unreal Lust Theory [v0.3.2] [Inceton Games]

Very unimpressive. Angles are nice but no real controls over the scene except speed, no money shot on any of them. Walking around the house with the girls following you is difficult because they get in the way. I appreciate that this is just a test before the game is made, but it's really mediocre.

Theres not really anything here yet, you have 3 girls that you can pick what kind of relationship you have with them, like sister, friend or daughter whatever your free to type it in your self.

Then you walk around the house a bit look for holograms which is just a sex scene with whoever you take along, you can talk a little with them thats where the voiced part comes it since sex scenes are just silent, also you can go hunting for eggs? i dunno dident do much for me.

You can also just click "lets have sex" option when talking to them and you can see a few diffrent possitions with each of them and thats about all there is to the game.

The graphics and animations are good but not great and the silence in a sex scene dosent fit a voiced game.

It could have some potential if it ever gets the story mode up and running and a few more girls to pick from but untill then its not really worth downloading.

I will revisit it at some point to see if this one ever gets anything of real value and content.

I was holding off trying this because of how fresh it was and it didn't have any content to try on. Like many of us here, I am prone to cast judgement with what I am offered NOW as I rarely come back to revise my thoughts since many of the games here tend to rot in development hell. I thought v.03 is a good start to see what this is.

Well, it is still early. But exactly the start of what I yearn for. 3D adult games are rare. 3D adult games with taboo concept (or at least the option to make it one) are even rarer, which is my kink. I am hopeful and happy to see a game in this caliber and concept in development. I'd support it without a doubt if I had the greens.

Remake of Lust Theory in Unreal Engine 5 looks absolutely gorgeous. The models are beautiful. Something about seeing their still images before and now seeing them walking around in full motion, doing stuff... It is an amazing feeling. The house is pretty neat, with objects to interact with. Some people say performance is an issue, my system could be considered average as I have an old 1080ti. I did not have any performance issues. But I could hear my cooling fans going over-drive. Lighting in the house is terrible unless you turn on all the lights in the house in the middle of noon. Sex animations are really good, but the janky walk and turn animations could use some real work. There is voice acting in this game. Not to disrespect the actors but it is just not good at all. Also there is no lip movement on the models while they talk. Or I didn't see it if there is any. Considering this game is in early development, I don't think it is fair not to look over stuff like that.

All and all, I'm happy with what I got here despite the quirks. It is very short as of now, so give it a try, I'm sure you'll like it and will get excited about the promises it has for the future. Honestly, this seems like a huge project to tackle so part of me tells me that the completed version of this game will never see the light of day, but we'll see.

I have to say it was cool to check the house 3D, however, it seemed a bit larger, lacks a few doors (2, I guess?), and I don't remember a reading room (maybe it's just me Lol). Also the game clearly needs optimization. The idea is pretty ambitious I like that.

As a long time adult game player I really want to see 3d real-time games so we can play some real games instead visual novels.

Okay, I don't wanna talk about how optimization is bad, 3d renders are wanky etc... I just wanna talk about why are you remaking a game in 3d realtime that is not suitable for.

I hope new devs create games with 3d realtime rendering more but what Inceton do here is creating even more grindfest game. Sorry, I don't want to walk from house to house in 2 minutes.

So far this is only a tech demo, so it may perhaps be unfair to attempt to pass judgment on something that contains no real gameplay or story, but still I feel like some level of criticism is due when looking at its core concept. The little gameplay that is present thus far suggests that this game will basically offer the same basic story and gameplay that we had with the original version of Lust Theory, but now with walking mechanics in a 3D environment to replace the former’s RenPy room-to-room sandbox mechanics, in addition to full camera control during sex scenes.

My question is: how does this improve the player experience? Probably the most ubiquitous complaint about RenPy sandbox games is that they add almost no value to the player, instead padding gameplay with opaque “room hunting” mechanics to disguise the complete linear nature of these games, and while the RenPy version of Lust Theory isn’t the worst offender of this problem, it doesn’t completely avoid it either, often requiring you to go to every single room in the whole game to find where to start the next step in a certain storyline, while locking you into that storyline until the next day loop — it isn’t really a sandbox, it’s just a linear game that doesn’t show me the next scene, it forces me to look for it.

So how exactly does forcing players to slowly walk between rooms make this a better experience? I don’t believe it does, I think it makes it worse, which is reflected in my rating. So my hope here is that the developer tries to add some real value to this experience beyond just “now using that 3D engine everyone won’t shut up about”.

First of all I see some very negative reviews on like the review of The Booty Hunter... This is bullshit because there is no story in the game yet. This is more like a gameplay demo to showoff what the game could be in UE. Then complain about graphics, which is also bullshit because the graphics is good but its needs to be better optimized. Then say it's a "walking sim" when you can finish this demo in like 5 min... so you can't really say anything about that yet, so again bullshit. I think some are just pissed that because they have played LT 2 and aren't satisfied with the ending which I can't really talk about because I've only played season 1.

    - The game runs decent with high settings on a 3080 TI , It's not great so it still needs to be better optimized.
    - Graphics looks good. but again you need a good graphic card to run this game.
    - There is no story in the game yet. So can't really say anything about that.
    - Gameplay is like any other first person game. It's not bad but can't really say much about it yet because you can finish te demo in 5 min. There isn't much to do yet.

The game has potential, but need some good optimization. Maybe rewrite a bit of the original story. I've read many complains about the ending of season 2 so maybe rewrite would satisfy the fans. Again I haven't played S2, so can't say much about it).

I'm afraid it get abandoned tho... the developers will realize it's to much work to do a remake in UE. But do know I appreciate creating a game like this in UE. As you can see with House Party i could work out just fine, and the graphics on House Party aren't even that great.

I give it 3 stars atm. because it has performance issues for most people due bad optimization and its a remake. I prefer a whole new game with a new story.

Well, Lust Theory Season 1 was really good game. Then the dev just fucked up with Season 2. "Unreal Lust Theory"'s characters same with the old game, which looks like a "remake" kinda stuff.

And by creating this "remake" Inceton just:

    - Fucked up with story, worse story with Oblivion like character faces
    - Fucked up graphics, and also it's sucking your hardware like there's no tomorrow. With 3090 still buggy though...
    - And finally fucked up gameplay, it was a lot better when it was point and click. Now, your favourite gameplay "walking sim" is what you got.

I don't know what's happening to good old game developers, it's shame.
And as you can see, this game will be abandoned.

The Best Graphics I have already seen. It is undescribed to be in the house of Lust Theory with free flow. The drone view is a master idea, the scenery is very detailed. I feel missing is the sound of a girl in a sex scene. I like to see pub hair in the girls and more poses and velocity control and choice to cum in the face, inside etc.
Thanks to development this game, certainly I will buy.

Review for Unreal Lust Theory v0.21

v0.21 still nothing more than a technology demo, there is no story or writing and very minimal gameplay. The only reason to release this would be to get feedback from players, so I'm providing mine, and I'm reviewing it as a technology demo, not a game.

I am 100% in favor of the adult gaming industry moving in the direction that this game is trying to move. I've found and played only a handful of 1st-person 3D adult games, and none of them were good. This game, in its current state, is no exception. It has potential, but so did all similar attempts before. I really hope that this game is being developed to lay a foundation for future adult games and not just an attempt to make money from a remake of Lust Theory in the Unreal 5 engine, because I don't think the remake itself will be successful. However, a remake is a way to make a game without having to completely write a new game from scratch, and that's actually not a bad idea, but they will still have to create good gameplay appropriate to the new engine that the original game didn't have.

Visuals 3/5: It's hard to gauge because of the minimal content, but I'd put the visuals on par with AAA games from 5+ years ago, aside from some of the things I'll point out.
    • Textures generally look very good, although the dynamic resolution occasionally took too long to switch to the higher resolution.
    • The level of modeling detail is inconsistent. E.g., the kitchen is pretty well done, but most other rooms are more spartan than they should be.
    • Nobody would have that many free weights in a home gym that's hardly big enough for two people to use at the same time.
    • Reflections from mirrors appear to have an intentional blurred effect. Strangely, the reflections from the glass shower panels in the bathroom are clearer than the mirrors.
    • The MC has no reflection in the mirror, which isn't that uncommon. I might be inclined to think it was intentional to not show the MC or to save GPU resource, but... Megan has a reflection in the mirror and the sex scenes show the MC.
    • All rooms and hallways are about 40% larger than they should be, so the interior of the house just looks like a bunch of wasted space, and it also makes the rooms look even more sparsely furnished. I suspect the extra space is to prevent the MC and NPCs from getting stuck, but... it looks weird.
    • The house has a typical European interior with European electrical switches/outlets and other uniquely European characteristics, but the garage has North American electrical switches/outlets and other uniquely North American characteristics. Looks like it was created by two completely different graphical artists.

Gameplay: 3/5 - There's not much gameplay. Searching for pumpkins and Christmas tree ornaments is lame, but it at least provides a technology foundation for future gameplay.
    • The controls are straightforward FPS style.
    • The default movement speed is too slow. The default should be to always run. There needs to be a lot more eye candy in a game to keep players from getting bored to death walking around at a slow pace, and that has been a consistent problem with similar games in the past.
    • Interaction with objects needs better feedback. There's only a tiny white dot that becomes visible in the center of the screen only when interaction with an object is possible, and that dot is sometimes really difficult to see. Needs a "crosshair" that can be toggled on/off or something.
    • Sounds when opening/closing doors aren't synced very well with the door opening/closing.
    • The physics for the pink yoga ball is humorous, but overall, kinda poor.

Performance: 2/5 - I played this on a system with the following specs: Core i9-12900K, Arc A770 16G, 64GB RAM, 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, Samsung 4K monitor. I configured it like this: window mode fullscreen, scaling 100%, dynamic resolution on, vsync on, frame rate limit 60, and Ultra on everything else.
    • The Update Notes say that the house is fully optimized. I worked in the gaming industry doing hardware-specific optimizations for 3.5 years. This is more like barely optimized. Although the update notes actually say "Fully oprimized house." LOL.
    • Frame rates are 20FPS at 3840x2160 and 60FPS at 1920x1080, just standing still. That's not optimized. With this game's current content, it should be getting well over 200FPS at 1080p. However, to the developer's credit, framerate and just general smoothness of looking around and walking around have improved a lot since v0.2.
    • As mentioned above, the sounds and movements aren't synced very well.

Sex Scenes: 3/5 - The smooth movements, high resolution models, and the lack of clipping/collision issues are better than anything else I've seen dynamically-rendered in adult games. They're even better than quite a few recent Renpy games that are statically-rendered. Unfortunately, that's not saying much and there there's still a long way to go to make them good.
Lets get this out of the way. The biggest problem with this game specifically is that both the models and animations in the Renpy version of Lust Theory are much better, so the only real benefit of the Unreal version is the unlimited camera angles. Personally, I don't find that to be worth it and it would be much better user experience to replace the dynamically-rendered sex with statically-rendered cutscenes. I guarantee that players don't want to play their adult games on a mid- to high-end gaming system when the gameplay isn't better and that's why I don't think this game can really be a success. However, in the interest of moving the industry forward, it's reasonable to keep them the way they are and continue to improve upon them as the game evolves.

I'm rating 4* for the ambition (and really, sheer unmitigated chutzpah) on display here. If you've got the hardware to run it, the environments look amazing. It's rough around *all* of the edges, sure, it's 0.1, it's a tech demo. But walking around the house and seeing the polish and attention to detail there already made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Speaking of warm, yeah, it's not even a little bit optimized and gave my 3080 a workout, so unless you're running high-midrange hardware or better, your GPU is going to throw a fit. I can't fault the dev for that too much, it's too early to spend much time optimizing. Version numbers get skewed here because games rarely hit 1.0. but anywhere else, v0.1 is minimally viable proof of concept. If it spins up and shuts down on target hardware without a BSoD, 0.1 is fair, and it does that.

The sex scenes are... uninspiring. But there's potential there. The models are fine, the animations are... passable I guess? but the whole exercise feels very clinical and detached. Unsexy. Presumably those will get some more love later on, and really there's a whole lot of gameplay to be added before they'll even matter, but for now don't go in expecting much because you will likely be disappointed.

Inceton has bitten off a lot here, and I'm skeptical. But they've made a fair start of it and it was worth the download just to run around and imagine what it might be like to have a whole-ass game as gorgeous as that neighborhood. I'll be interested to see where it's at in six months or a year, and maybe we'll never get much beyond this initial PoC, but in the meantime I don't mind rating a bit high to balance out the premature negativity from others.

Seriously, the idea itself is just horrible. So nobody liked how the season 2 ended and instead Inceton just went and try to remake this game on a whole new engine on which most people can't even run the game smoothly. With all the feedback from the community and supporters, they actually wasted time and resource on this abomination when they could have just retcon and remade the ending or extend the game for a day 3 so we actually get to advance and see some character development that we have progressed the game for all this time, but no...they would rather just scratch that and do this instead.

I'm updating my 1 star rating to 5 stars as I really like what I'm seeing with the new update. While I understand that this is going to be a huge endeavor and that it is going to take some time for Inceton games to finish this off, its going to revolutionize this kind of gaming forever. You can go through the house, go in each of the rooms, even go into the shower, its fantastic to see and play. Megan wouldn't have necessarily been my choice to start with, but when they get to Elizabeth is going to be LEGEND DAIRY

One of the best examples I have seen for "If it aint broke, don't fix it."
Game already had above average renders and animations. These are worse in about every possible way, and on top of that, it will run like crap on the majority of systems out there.
Makes no sense at all to me and seems like a huge waste of time and resources.
It's early days yet, but that's my read so far.
Maybe in a few years it will be good, but by then, there will be more shiny new toys, and the cycle will begin again. Lots of new and interesting ways to waste time and money. :poop:

Sillicon Lust is better optimized than this...!!!!

If you need more info than that. I played a lot of games, both porn and otherwise, in all stages of development, over several decades.

I can say with absolute certainty that this game is going to be abandoned, because of the devs inability to work with a high end 3D engine.

When optimization is thought of last, it's never going to succeed. Considering how barebones this janky ugly game is, and is pulling 99% GPU and 85% memory of my 3080 even on the lowest settings, in an empty tiny room. The more stuff is piled on the more of an unplayable dungheap it becomes. It's only a matter of time before the dev realizes.

They didn't remake the game in Unreal btw. They've so far approximated and put in some off the shelf stuff, imported some models and textures from Lust Theory, and added two scenes with stock animations you can adjust the playback speed for.

There was an attempt, and we all have limitations. No hate for trying, but i think this is just a life lesson for the dev.

For us wankers, save yourself the download, and play the RenPy, which is really well done overall.
