Batman: Arkham Asylum Demo

November 22, 2010
Developer: Eidos Interactive
License:Freeware
OS: Windows
File size: 2.0 GB
this is just a 7gb tech demo
it was all a dream/simulation the whole time
all while unreal bakes your GPU
Unreal Engine 5...don't think that's the best decision. Oh well...when a dev got too much money on his hands and thought he could bite a piece that big. If it will be well optimised - cool, but I so much doubt it.
Camera need fixes, Maybe talking animation?
Always trying to improve
before doing some ue5 remake, if they can add the voicing for their 2nd opus it would be great
The VO for the last completed game of theirs should come in a matter of months, as a DLC ...
13 years ago DEMO JAM PACKED WITH TONDS MORE FEATURES ONLY 2 GO.
Immagine a 7GO tech demo for your MINIMUM 8 GO of RAM ... HAHAHAHAAHa.

For all the wonderful work thanks, First off changing the key binds fails to work (Default appears to be arrow Keys). Plus the brightness of the intro room can blind most players. Was unable to move character or make any adjustments to see what the character could interact with. Tried to make brightness and contrast adjustments via monitor but that failed as well. Looked for ways to adjust video or screen under settings but found nothing. Have remove the game from my system because of the problems above. Finally suggest a compression or find a way to reduce file size. I mean goodness v0.1 at 7 G and no compression, really? Well gave it a try and found it lacking in several areas, movent, changing key binds, and brightness/contrast adjustments missing. Thanks anyways be looking forward to the next update where I hope to find some major adjustments. best of luck

I disagree and think that it cheapens the experience. Like nothing you did really mattered cause it was all a dream. As for crazy behavior, I just like to think that Russia or where ever the devs for a particular game was just this crazy magical place and so it was normal.
Nothing you did DID matter. It's a game. But at least now it's a game that seems like it actually could happen rather than the nonsense porn games usually are. It has nothing to do with where they're from. American porn is just as bad. "Did you call down for a... towel, ma'am?" [cue 70's music and the towel he's wearing drops to the floor]

I appreciate the effort although in my case the graphic makes me dizzy and nauseous...

RTX2080 all latest drivers. Ultra @ 120fps limit... ran fine with minor landscape glitching..

I dont think this is as good a idea as they thought it would be. First of all it runs like absolute Garbage and whilst Unreal Engine has definitely improved the environment the character models haven't translated well enough. Also i feel like they would need motion capture animations in order to make the characters look less jarring whilst you're talking. It just seems like they would need to invest so much time and money into this to make it acceptable that I'm not sure if it will be worth it in the long run. Like the adult game industry is big but not that big. Really hope Season 3 at least continues on Renpy.

Instead of a visual novel that can run on a toaster, they've opted to create a boring walking simulator that needs top of the line hardware just to function.

For what benefit? Having the devs waste more time trying to animate scenes in full 3D? Deal with the hassle of real-time lighting solutions? Make them now have to contend with player movement and all of the problems increased player agency brings to any interactive project? All this time and effort, just to make their game sink further into the Uncanny Valley?

Seems like a poor decision...

If there is that much open world, then at least give us an ebike or an onewheeler. Sadly this is just a tiny upgrade compared to what people built 8 years ago in 3d. I think Wild Life and House Party are the only successful one.
They need to reduce the time spend on the open world and have more of a cinematic approach.
I think that still images are still the way to go and they should only show the result once it reachs the Beta (which is very very far away).

So far, you know that wasnt the end right? I dont know what a season 3 would be, but they left it wide open for one. Honestly it doesnt really matter because people dont play incenton games for epic stories, just decent and a bit humorous ones and good sex scenes.

Honestly because they feel like it and as long as they are still pushing out games, multiple without need a full year like some devs, then people wont care. They're devs and they found the room to try something new. More than anything its probably to see how it works and if they can translate their style to 3D. A thought experiment in practice. Its better than taking the money and giving a single update every 10 months or so on a single game.

I'll definitely be following the progress. Hope they do add some talking animation and add full support for controller. I was able to move around in the demo with my xbox controller.

its going to be tough to make this game and its world not look lifeless but I wish them the best of luck. I'll probably check this out in a year

Look, it runs fine on my 4090, but I don't understand why they didn't just scrap the ending and add another few days of character development, storyline, etc to the previous game. So many of those girls were awesome. I could get behind this project if it offered new content; truly new content. However it seems like it will just be the same old story.

I want new experiences. If I'm going to revisit old ones then it has limited value. If they released the ENTIRE game with THIS update then sure, I'd be blown away, but if this is going to be piecemeal for the next 2-3 years I won't be back until the end.
