Did anyone at Incenton even tested this new version before releasing it? Like doing an actual "Quality and Assurance"? I highly doubt it, because...
- the "New Save Game System" is broken:
- if you save your game in either "Sandbox" or "Story" mode, you can't "Load" it from the main menu ("Load" button is disabled)
- if in "Story Mode" you press "Continue" instead , it does NOT continue where you left
- If you save a game in "Story" mode and press "Continue" on "Sandbox" mode, it loads the story mode progress (and vice versa)!
- the "Christmas" event (in "Sandbox" mode) is broken
- if you complete the Christmas tree and click the big gift, a girl appears for like half a second and then vanishes
And (but that's not new to v0.4.2):
- all the outfits in "Sandbox" mode are trash. Utterly trash. They're neither sexy nor funny, and the often clip into each other. Atrocious.
- skipping dialogues takes AGES (as you can't properly "Load" a previous save, let us at least skip dialogues fast!)
- you can interact with Megan/Jessica/Elisabeth while already talking to somebody -- which makes the "Follow Me / Let's talk / Let's have Sex / Exit" dialogue appear on screen FOREVER (until you restart the game)
This isn't their first "broken" release, and I've said this before: it's probably better to NOT release a broken version of the game, because it will drive people away from your project! Better take all the time you need to make a proper release!
As much I would like this implementation (mostly hoping for someone doing a VR mod for it because it's on the Unreal Engine) -- it's bad. Just bad. Having played the Ren'Py version of Lust Theory Season 1, and having enjoyed most of the pre-rendered images, I really can't find anything interesting in this Unreal version of the game.
But that's just my opinion. I will unfollow this thread for now, and maybe check back in a couple of years to see if Incenton did anything to improve this project. Then again, I don't any high hopes.
