Magical realism.

The protagonists can use magic, yes, but they also have to use their heads in order to win the day.

But a quick search tells me that raypunk is pure science fiction.
Therefore, the biggest difference would probably be the fact that there be no magic in raypunk.

it's not scifi. raypunk is basically: magic/magical tech + other planets/planes. so what you discribed as 'arcane punk' but on other planets/planes of reality. 'otherwordly' is a major requirement of raypunk.

what raypunk is NOT is tech working under laws of physics. so a laser gun is not raypunk, but a mind control ray is.


this is the usual progression from tech to esoteric madness:

sailpunk->steampunk->dieselpunk->atompunk->cyberpunk->raypunk->goethepunk.

As far as i am concerned, a game being an adult game doesn't mean that all non-adult parts should suck.
I'm positive that eventually a Bioware of adult gaming could arise somewhere, maybe even here.

That's not harem then. Harem, by definition, is when girls are aware and okay with that.

As for untouched genres... Sport games? There are some fighting games if you can call that sport, but that's it. But in reality it's not about genres but quality, very littly amount of adult games are actually decent games, so who cares what genre they are.

Former, of course. Porn is just a spice. None of my memories of H games come from porn, but there are quite a lot non porn related. Like that biker from Dai Banchou. You can recruit either him or some hot mother (daughter included in the package), so the choice should be clear and yet... He's just so cool. And his events are all about winning bike races all around the country. No porn there whatsoever, you even need to get him another dude to help with the final race and yet sometimes you just have to go with your heart yearning for true romance
