May I ask why the mix between your own art and the NSFW scenes from another artist?

I could be wrong, but if I remember right, this is, generally speaking, a fan work/collaboration with the original artist. The original NSFW art acted as an inspiration for the rest of the game, they saw the original artist's characters and art, and they liked it and wanted to make something with it to draw more attention to the original artist, and this is the result.
Twisted Scarlett has made a lot of fan games, most of them were made in their own art style, but this is a fan work based on another artist's work, so they asked permission for the characters and art. At least that's my understanding.
It's primarily a passion project so to speak.
Three new biomes are coming!
1. The safest and best biome yet! Doubled loot and higher chance of the best events!
2. The most dangerous biome yet. Doubled loot, but massively buffed enemies
3. The most secret biome yet! I won't tell anyone how to find this, but those that stumble into it are sure to love it.
And yes, there is a new "gold" event that lets you get up to 2 bombs among other things.
Since it comes up often, I can confirm that the Demon Queen has two planned sex scenes! If by 'mommy' milkers you mean pregnancy, Seraphina and Beatrice have planned pregnancy content that will be availalbe in the post-game.
I don't think mdf-an is a full-time artist, and they haven't released any art since the production of Unveiling the Unknown. They've also hidden all their art on their Pixiv and Twitter, which is unfortunate. My next game will be Friendship with Benefits 2 and entirely using my art.
The third biome sounds interesting, I wonder how long it'll stay secret for before being broken open.

I wonder how much of this is AI art. At least some of the background images are clearly done with AI. I know that mdf_an's artwork is hand drawn, that much is beyond any doubt.
I know it's a porn game and those details hardly matter to most, but this is always an interesting topic for me.

I stopped reading the posts like 20 pages in, but how amusing that it was discussed just last page. Should have used the search feature.
Certainly it appears that Scarlett is a real character artist, but that does not mean that they are also skilled at drawing background images and architecture. I am sorry, but it is an undeniable fact that the BG images are AI generated. I can tell all the signs. If Scarlett bought these from some image set they got ripped off, because this is not professional work. Whoever made them did not even bother to do some editing clean up.
However, rather than thinking the character sprites are AI generated, I fear that some AI software has used Scarlett's art as a base, because I definitely understand the impression that some of these sprites are AI art (the guild receptionist in particular), as I have seen this exact artstyle used in several indie porn games lately. I haven't come here to accuse anyone of anything and I am not here to judge either. This is merely my personal interest in the subject.

Dude, I actually use AI art generation, for my own personal reasons-
You're not gonna get consistent results like this from AI art, the time it would take to make any of this AI generated, while already having artistic skills (TS has been an artist well before 2020, as in way before AI art was even commercially viable), you'd be better off just actually drawing these backgrounds and characters than attempting to generate something similar, because of how time consuming the process would be, and hypothetically if it were from an outside source, we would know, because Twisted Scarlett always credits all the assets, music, etc. that they use to make their games.
I apologize if I come off as dismissive in this post, but unless you are seriously interested in a proper dissection I will keep it short.
These BG images are too good to be done by an amateur, there are too many objects on screen and too many details... yet there are errors so obvious that a real artist would never make them, especially not one on the level of this art. Some furniture is nonsensical, some structures are impossible (not in a fantasy way, but just physically wrong). I have not seen every art piece in this game and I am not claiming everything is AI art, obviously.
I am sure the sprites are all drawn by Scarlett, though... some artstyles are oddly distinctive from each other (I am not talking about mdf_an's art). But that is besides the point.
I have looked into the credits section of the game and as far as art goes there is no mention of anyone but Scarlett and mdf_an. Of course nothing says that all art is personally drawn either, so I am not trying to call anyone a liar.

I did not pick anything inside dungeons or spaces that you could argue are magical and nonsensical by nature. AI art and its quirks are actually rather welcome in games with odd dimensions and hellish realms. Now one could argue that this is a world of magic and that some of these things could be caused by it even inside a fairly normal mansion.... but it is awfully selective then and only in the weirdest ways.
If we are honest with ourselves one would have to make a lot of excuses to justify any of this, but that would require one to be in a position where the end goal is to defend the art at all costs, not to actually critically analyse it. Most of the things I mentioned in the spoiler are common AI issues even today. It's not a crime to use AI like this, especially not for free fan games. It is completely understandable that a one person dev team cannot invest the same level of effort into everything. It is impressive enough as is.
