It honestly does look better. The softer, rounder look really suits. Obviously it's got detail and sharpness issues but actually it works better than most I've seen before.

That was the plan, but because of how long it took to get 0.8.1 out, it seems to have gotten delayed until next week according to what Nergal said on his subscribestar.

Original version has more characters but is crippled by bugs and another artist compared to the new one, but has "all" characters (1 more character).
New version is less bug heavy, but only 1 character (mom) is finished (Sydney is estimated to show up next week).

Tbh they both feel different enough to be considered separate games imo. The OG is "complete" and has more content but it's also a bit rougher. So far, I'd argue that the remake has only about 40% of the OG's content given that, aside from the Mom, all characters are still lacking their final scenes. Some repeatable scenes are missing too. Obviously no endings. Character interactions plus fleshing out the game world is also more complete in the OG given that, aside from the girls, there's really very little in this one. The story is also mildly different.
