US state verification laws question.

Quite a few states have been making laws that require porn sites to have ID verification, including the one that I live in. While I don't watch stuff on pornhub or most other site, I do use places like DL site and this one to download and play games. What I want to know is how come these sites are not affected or even sites like itch and steam that have those kind of games? Sorry if the answer is obvious, Just confuse on how those law work or wether I will be able to access these sites in the future.

Nobody adressed them yet. The websites don't "need" to do anything until somebody herasses them.
And since a reasonable ID verification is much more complicated to accomplish than one would expect, the websites rather geoblock access from the locations.
So no, you'll probably need a VPN to access those sites.

Wouldn't DL site be affected already since that is a big hentai site?

Like I wrote, nobody addressed them yet, and therefore they don't "need" to do anything. The people who make the laws usually only know the usual stuff. They won't be more thorough until later.

if they will even care about non-real porn at this stage? steam and many other sites do not allow real porn, so they might get away with it

Oh ok, I would thought they would be going after all those type of site but so far it seem they only went for the big ones.

Once people start complaining and ratting out the sites, this might change.

It might be because these sites aren't based in the United States. I don't know though, I'm not a lawyer.

For Steam it is well know that the Germany have them to use an age verification system for pornographic content and they are quite strict about the enforcment of this rules.
So Steam could implement it or "remove" all pornographic content from its site for Germans. And, Steam still haven't implement a age age verification system that comply with the German regulatory, so no pornographic content on Steam for the Germans.

Same could happen here.
