Using realistic AI images in Steam games

Hey all,

Question for the community:

Now that we have AI image generators which can create realistic, high quality images of people who are not real, has anyone heard of these images being used in any published games on Steam?

I know that you can't have images of real people but you can have AI generated content if you disclose it.

Any ideas?

There's surely since Valve updated Steam's rules regarding AI use a lot during the two last years. But as far as I know, AI generated images are still banned from adult games, and the image must not be illegal, therefore they can't picture real persons.

Right, but just because an AI image is "realistic" does that mean that Valve still considers it to be of a real person? I guess I should just ask Valve themselves...

according to artists' feedback: realistic AI-art with a naked 16-18-year-old girl is not accepted on Japanese sites, but there you are welcome with incest and drawn children. There is also a case of a resident of England being arrested for creating realistic AI porn. So AI is not a defense.

There, fixed that for you. Everyone on this site so far has focused on incest and child, but the OP is just asking about realistic porn. Not incest, not child. Sure, I get that this site has its proclivities, but let's not mix and match our answers.

I didn't talk to Steam BUT I have an example of a game which Steam rejected because it used realistic AI generated human images.
