Yes but I haven't automated this process yet, a lot of varieties and logic need to be considered. Is it possible to modify the JSON file to call the correct VAR package files while removing things like clothing and hair?
If nothing is selected, var is compressed and encoding is set to UTF-8, you will find fixed var at "Fixed" Folder. If nothing was selected in the software, did the packaged .var change? Is it just a conversion of encoding?
Is the var packaged by VAM compressed? It feels like just a folder, and after repackaging it with 7z, its size is cut in half
Okay, thank you for your answer. If nothing is selected, var is compressed and encoding is set to UTF-8, you will find fixed var at "Fixed" Folder.
VaM does not compress all var content, it skips assetbundle, images, mp3 files, that's why when you recompress vars either using this tool or 7z, size drops.
Go to the Boss' sig and follow the link to "Vam Releases". He has done more to highlight/organize Asian uploads (CH, Kor, Jp) than anyone else. AND .... his releases are cleaned and ready to go.can anyone hook me up with some chinese vars
Allow running plugins only if you download the var from hub or Asset Releases (Not Asset Requests), I don't keep up with everything posted on Asset Requests but I do scan everything before uploading to asset releases if I see a plugin inside Chinese var I always remove it and reference original one, analyzing whether this plugin has a malware or not takes more time and effort, you have to read the C# code to determine whether it's actually good or bad, it's far easier to just remove the whole plugin thing inside the var and add a reference (shortcut) to the original var which I know it's safe. This tool is absolutely amazing thanks for taking the tme to make it. I have one question though mainly for everyone if you want to input. Are plugins from a lot of these chinese looks really that dangerous? ive been allowing all plugins when i open scenes and i have been lucky so far i never got a virus or something that deletes my vars. i guess im just oblivious to the danger but i thought allowing plugins is necisarry for scenes to load properly, do most of you not allow them to load? reading the message about plugins here is giving me anxiety but if most of you decline the plugins i will start too. thanks for reading my wall of text.
ok this is really helpful i will use this to delete the plugins, i only skimmed through your instructions so i might of missed it, but does your fixing tool allow me to reference (shortcut) the var? ir do i have to learn how to do this myself when fixing them.Allow running plugins only if you download the var from hub or Asset Releases (Not Asset Requests), I don't keep up with everything posted on Asset Requests but I do scan everything before uploading to asset releases if I see a plugin inside Chinese var I always remove it and reference original one, analyzing whether this plugin has a malware or not takes more time and effort, you have to read the C# code to determine whether it's actually good or bad, it's far easier to just remove the whole plugin thing inside the var and add a reference (shortcut) to the original var which I know it's safe.
It doesn't reference original one, but I am planning on creating a tool to debloat vars, reference original ones automatically. Anyway you don't need plugins for Chinese Looks, just deny loading the plugin or remove it, it won't affect the look.ok this is really helpful i will use this to delete the plugins, i only skimmed through your instructions so i might of missed it, but does your fixing tool allow me to reference (shortcut) the var? ir do i have to learn how to do this myself when fixing them.
