Following as176590811's post here it became clear that we mostly walk around blind in the VAM world.
So here is a thread where we can recommend each other tools and plugins for an easier VAM life.
1. ServerManager is the first tool that starts this thread because it's the one that gave the idea. It makes Windows Explorer show var icons as image previews instead of the universal 7zip icons.
Below I will just continue with my Session Plugins.

makes previewing and changing appearances much easier and faster. It also reduces Virt-A-Mate loading speeds if var offloading is enabled.3.
You must be registered to see the links
makes almost all of your appearances match all your scenes. Almost no more 'this look doesn't work in this scene'.4.
You must be registered to see the links
makes it possible for you to see in every angle of a dark scene. No more need of adding light sources or installing lighting subscenes.Other plugins recommended below shortlist:
-
You must be registered to see the links, (scanning for errors and softlinking presets. Not recommended to use with Browser assist offloading feature since it reads the scene.json instead meta.json)
-
You must be registered to see the links(Still a solid tool for organazing scenes and picking out stuff you want to play with. It works with your meta.json file.)
- Another Tool Creator and Vam manager :
You must be registered to see the linksmaybe you like this more. Have not used this in a while maybe it got better.
- Edit: After testing
You must be registered to see the linksis a solid linker and manager you can choose meta.json and scene.json scan. It is still in beta. Downside its in chinese but if you translate a few times you know what each button does
-
You must be registered to see the linksvar browser help people who have massive var packages and take too long time to enter game.(You must be registered to see the links)
- GossamerVR.MorphFilterPlus - to remove life filtering in morph research (in the default config, vam trys to search what you write after every input and this can make the game very slow if you have a lot of morphs)
- Blazedust.CUAM.CustomUnityAssetManager and VamCuaSuperglue
- MVRPlugin.SettingsHideErrorPopups - make the error messages ingame apeears as a countbox on the icon instead of appearing as a message.
- lockemx.LieStill - to move the view vertically while in VR without having to move in real live (for lying down or stand up positions)
- jayjaywon.disablepostmagic - the name says it all
- RedEyes.AutoSetPresetLocks - to block scenes from changing character appearance and clothing as you change positions or the scenes progresses
- LGGCFX.LgAtomTool - to clean scenes from unwanted items and effects like lights and cuas that reduce fps
- MVRPlugin.SettingsCycleNextPerson - make you need to press shift to select another person from the scene, so you dont need to cycle between all characters if you close the window
- I am a major fanboi of sfishere's Var Browser so I second as176590811's recommendation. sfishere's original DL post:
