    Review for v0.27.0

    Viking's Daughter isn't something everyone is going to enjoy, but I have a real soft spot for even semi well-done Unity/Unreal lewd games. Part of it is that they are rare and provide a fresh experience from the many visual novels on this site, but playing them just gives me such a unique feeling I don't get in many other games. I truly enjoy playing this.

    The overview gives a pretty good representation. You show up to a seemingly abandoned village, soon to discover the lone survivor who fills you in on what has happened. Turns out it's the village chief's daughter, and she asks you for help. The adventure starts from there.

    A lot of the gameplay consists of day to day quests given by the chief's daughter. These aren't tedious repeatable tasks though, every day usually has something new going on. It doesn't have AAA tier combat and mechanics, but I find it fun for what it is. Eventually more people show up to the village as things progress giving you more things to do and girls to "romance."

    There's a fair amount of lewd scenes and they do get the job done. Animated well enough, and the dialogue isn't sloppy either. I wouldn't call the graphics stellar but again I don't think they are bad either.

    I did run into some bugs later into the game, one that sadly made it impossible to progress, but I was nearing end of content anyway so I wasn't too upset. Something to be aware of though.

    I like the premise and have come back to this a few times as its been updated. Give it a go if you're into Unity games!

    great deal , superb great idea that the first time for a little girl who was not sure what we will need for this time and other people who was not mapped to object oriented environment signal that it has not to object oriented and other things in the most important role will need for a good news and other than that you know if the end to

    [v0.26.0]

    I don't want to be harsh on something still being worked on, but even the core gameplay blows.

    Fetch quests- go, interact or kill, return to NPC;
    Bonus chests that can be mimics without any difference just to be a nuisance, especially with slow health regen;
    Why do I even have an inventory?;
    Boring combat- hostiles run at, attack, retreat, repeat, passives run, that's it;
    Weapon choices- hands that do nothing, 1 bow for range and 3 melee weapons that are mostly the same and inferior to ranged attacks;
    Sex scenes- models are mediocre, scene options are limited and can only be changed during dialogue;
    Map is big and mostly empty;
    Interactions are only 2 options between being a sissy and a prick
    Bugs like soft-locking by accidentally doing quests out-of-order, saving not saving full data, mimics can sometimes hit multiple times and insta-kill;
    Upgrades are boring and make little sense: use gold to upgrade everything, even though I am the smith, smithing my own weapons, gold comes from the god-sent chests.

    In short: Is currently bad, would need to be almost entirely remade to have any future prospects, gave it a 2/5 instead of a 1/5 because it is not intentionally bad.

    I think the title has an error in it. Pretty sure the name is Vikings Daughter - Fetch Quest Simulator. Seriously. Every time you 'wake up', its just 'hey, please wander this island for 5-20 minutes hoping you stumble upon the MacGuffin of the day.' Like, I just.. don't understand how... that was made, looked at, and then was like, 'Yeah, that seems super fun and engaging.'

    The sex scenes aren't bad. The models are okay. The island is fine, but not when you have walked around it for so long because you have to find a stupid bush that is slightly larger then other bushes or search around for someone playing hide and seek [which, yes, is just another fetch quest]. Didn't get to the end. I stopped after finding the sister and then, of fucking course, her going to hide again. Can only assume you are meant to 'explore' the island 3-4 times, once again, and nah. I can only do so many mindless wander fetch quest before I want to pull my eyes out.

    Wow.

    Animations 5/5
    Story 5/5
    Characters 5/5
    H-scenes 5/5
    Immersion 5/5
    Music Choices 5/5
    Combat 4/5

    A solid game all-round. The story is well written and makes you feel like you're apart of the world. POV is well done and similar to Illusion games, you can control the camera during H-scene, tho it would be a good idea to make the mouse icon disappear during them. Movement controls are well done; walk with wasd and turn and attack with the mouse. There is no grind, just simple - easy to do quests to complete. There are also a high number of choices to make in this game, good job (y). Dialog feels pretty natural. One minus is that the story is linear, but not bad enough to hurt my rating.

    The characters are awesome and the MC is likeable. The music choices really add to the atmosphere of the game as well as the ambient sounds. There's plenty of immersion here; you can swim, you can fish, you can hunt, you can improve your weapons, you can buy slaves tho limited for the time being, you can sleep.

    Animations are well done and very smooth and even have voice acted moans, which are also well done. All H-scenes are animated. No shaky camera, unless you choose to shake it with the mouse; Well done.

    I normally stay away from Unity games for simple reasons; they are usually horribly made, full of badly implemented mini-games, an insane grind, needless barely solvable puzzles, or run badly. None of these issues are present in this game. The game runs smooth and is very fun to play.

    Easily a 5-Star game. Highly Recommend.

    I played one of the early versions of Vikings Daughter two years ago, and I found it to have a lot of potential. Skip forward to now, and I'm astonished at how little progress has been made. Sure, they've added some new scenes, but the gameplay/story is still at an extremely early stage. The current release feels like a first release, and this game is almost three years old now.

    I would love to love this game; it showed so much promise. However, I can't recommend a game that has only added an extra 1-2 hours of content after two years.

    I was originally going to give this 2 stars for how little there is to show for it's long development, but decided to give it a pass considering how rare actual games of these types are(at least in non-japanese world) . That's the problem with promising potential -if you can't deliver on said potential in reasonable time, it becomes a detriment. Look at Star Citizen - it's a joke now.

    Anyway, this game has decent models(+ for originality) and sex talk - you are not just staring at animations, but picking "sub\dom" archetype for your char in scenes. But it's not really affecting anything besides a few lines of dialogue, overall relationships stay the same. The gameplay is rather bland - you spend your time doing fetch quests in the same area over and over and get sex animation as a reward. There is a rudimentary combat system to poke at wildlife with sword or spear( wolves and one deer hunt), but you'd be better off just shooting everything with a bow. Honestly , this type of gameplay would work better with sandbox survival game, where you take care of your harem(or friends, if you into monogamy) on some island doing occasional quests for girls(anyone remember Pokkaloh?), but as it stands, barebones story is only thing stringing together the linear sex scenes progression.

    TLDR Models - 4/5 ,Animations - 3/5(thanks to controllable camera, but zoom/angle options are poor) , Gameplay - 2/5, Story - 2/5 (which would be 3-4 if it had more player agency and not just chars appearing randomly overnight)

    one of the few "games" in the truest sense in this genre. graphics is decent when compared to VNs but come on this is a first person pov game. animations are ok too. the thing i really liked about it is the rpg style.the story seems promising as well. frankly speaking it is still in its early stage according to me and i usually wait for a few more updates before reviewing. i would have given this 4/5 but seeing its potential i think it deserves a 5. i had lot of fun playing this and hope for some awesome updates in the future.!

    A nice 3d world, animated scenes, and dialogue, but story needs to become less linear. Although there are choices, eventually the main dialogue is resumed, so there is no bad or good choice. No bad end that I have observed.

    The following review is based off my personal experience with playing this Game/Visual Novel... I try to be as brutally honest and detailed as I can, and these are my own opinions and thoughts, from one or more play throughs... The version this review is based on is v1.5.0...

    Well, this one was definitely not a visual novel, it was a first person sex game basically... The story is almost non-existant other then a little bit of dialogue now and then... The graphics were not bad but they do need some work... It's pretty much a go fetch, have sex, go fetch, have sex, so on and so forth game in it's current version...

    As to the visuals, they are alright for a first person shooter type movement game... The models are not terrible, but not great either... There wasn't any real lag in the movement when running around, and the map is low to medium resolution for the environment visuals... You can't open the doors, or interact with much, unless it involves a go fetch quest... The mini-map is basic, with areas highlighted slightly blue, to show the areas where items are found, but you still need to go explore to find them... And there isn't a compass to guide you either... The erotic scenes are alright, but not fully believable mostly due to the lack of real physics graphics... It's basically 3D models of average quality repeating the same motions, changing as you select dialogue options...

    The script is almost non-existent in the beginning, other then quest dialogue during your initial introduction with the Vikings daughter... After a few fetch quest/sex scenes you get more dialogue options, before meeting another character, which you have some more short dialogue with followed by some actual combat practice with combat dummies followed by some teasing, which then pretty much ends what currently exists in the game... There is a main plot sort of, and they attempted to have some meaningful dialogue now and then, but over all there isn't much story at all, just a tiny little bit really... I was starting to think it was just a proof of concept game because of all the sex scenes you get as reward for each quest you went on... When the dialogue actually picked up half way into the game, i started to have hope that maybe a love story was developing or the potential for one at some point, but I'm just not sure that is what this game will be about, as it's really unclear... One moment you think the protagonist and the Viking daughter might be getting some feelings for one another, but then things she eventually sais, feels like she might just be using him, and may throw him away once she gets what she wants... Dunno, it isn't really clear...

    The game appears to be in early stages of development, with not much substance or depth... In it's current incarnation it's just a sex fest with small amounts of dialogue hinting at a bigger story, maybe perhaps there will be more depth later into it's development? I'm hoping this doesn't just become a demo of a game that will never see the light at the end of the tunnel... It's definitely different, game engine wise, from a lot of other vn/games out there, and has the potential to be a great one if they can just add way more story into it... But as it stands now, it is more like a porn game... Only time will tell...
