Then you're not an artist either. The true artist are those who created the software you use to draw. Even if you don't use any technological tool to draw, the true artist would be those who created the pencils/brushes you use. Why you ask? Because without them there would not be anything to use (y).

Sorry but that's just planly stupid. You're clearly talented, but if that's what you actually believe for "art" then I can't call you an artist at all to begin with.
Who said I was an artist? Are claiming that I am WLOP? Maybe next time you want to try and troll me, you need to try and get your facts right first?:ROFLMAO:
Please show me where in this post that I stated that the work is mine?

You must be too tired to realize you've been hit by a smooth criminal!
That's what I implied. When you pass through most of the day like a robot because your brain isn't really here, you can miss even the obvious :(

I wasn't the one talking about artists and HS2 in the same post, it was the OP of this thread.;) After all using Illusion assets is not art and not even in the same league in my book.(y) The true artists are the people who created the assets in the first place and not the people who move some sliders about.(y) It is the same for DAZ 3D, the asset/model creators are the artists, because without them there would not be anything to use.(y)
Fortunately you are not the authority on what is or isn't art (y)

It is, of course a matter of preference. I myself like "realistic" as opposed to "photorealistic".
Here is an example (from The Proteus Effect).
The Proteus Effect 30.jpg
The textures and lighting are detailed and look real in a computed-generated sort of way, but the faces are cartoonish.
(I think the blonde is really cute by the way)
Maybe some people think that if it is too realistic, you might as well just be watching porn.

I think the best thing to do is to simply ignore the people who complain. They can always go and find something to their particular taste. After all, it IS subjective, and you can't please everybody.

Until the uncanny valley effect has been fully overcome, the concept of true photorealism in 3d art remains a brass ring yet unreached. I would predict in 10 perhaps 20 years, man will enjoy virtual experiences as real as fresh paint and pancakes to our senses--only still through the use of sensory prosthetics and advanced light emission technologies. Augmented reality on steroids, in other words.

Leaps have also been made concerning direct neuro-stimulation conduits, even circa 2021. In 20 years, that tech might be the go-to source for education, recreation, or porn. But I always digress about any tech that actively affects the brain. The words of the bald, Italian bad guy in that old Schwarzenegger film ring in my ears:

"Don't fuck with your brain, pal. It ain't worth it."
