Review of v1.5 Fix...

The dev has ambition. I appreciate that. I enjoy the setting and the notion of a war with the gods.

The female character models are all beautiful. I'm not a fan of bald MCs, but other than that he was fine.

There are some issues I had which contributed to the loss of stars...

• The characters need to emote more. There will be long conversations where it will sit on a single static image with the characters never moving.
• For some reason when the women are barefoot they all walk around on their tip toes like they are wearing invisible heels.
• There are a few scenes involving a couple of the girls, kind of like side stories, that go on for a bit too long and ended up boring me for the most part.
• The writing is good for the most part. There are parts where the dialogue feels a bit long winded. And later in the game the quality of the writing skydives like a different writer came in and English isn't their first language.
• I think it took me about 20 hours to finish the current build and all I had was three bjs, three handjobs, and one tiny sex scene at the very end.

All things considered I do really like the story and am looking forward to see where it goes.

Starting with the good things about the game - all female models look great and unique , the renders are good .
Moving on to the bad things - for a game which has been for nearly three years it is definitely moving very slow like a tortoise .I loved the mythological aspect of the story initially and after a while it turns dark with no / little romance only corruption for most of the game and upon adding sandbox it seems there is very little story for each release and none of my previous saves seems to work , had to start a new game every time . And a Main character who acts more of an idiot than that of a king with no redeemable quality who thinks only about sex in the whole game . And as for the main love interest there is no sex till now only build ups and sex with side characters . And in the latest update it seems sharing / whoring your mother had been added to the game where you haven't had sex with her yet . There seems to be many choices but most of them doesn't seem to change anything in the game .
So finally apart from some of the good looking models , boring story and slow pacing with most of the actions with side characters ruins this game completely . At the end of this version I would give it 2 stars .

Porno based on western (as opposed to oriental, or specifically Japanese) mythology/occultism is vastly underrepresented on f95. Vis fills that niche, but the results are unfulfilling.

The entire point of a mythological porno is to fuck (preferably female) mythological characters and/or creatures, not to mention fucking your own land-people because that's a rather central aspect of the irl Hellenic mysteries. Well, this game has the sexy landladies, as well as lady gods and lady demons. But, the dev seems to be far more interested in building an entire fantasy series' worth of backstory and lore about those characters, than hooking up our protagonist with some supernatural poon. I'm not even dissing the story itself, it is somewhat interesting, but not in it's current (very) overwrought condition.

The two long/complete h-scenes in my playthrough were both with the PC's female bodyguards. And interestingly enough all of those bodyguards die or quit shortly after having sex with him. The rest were a few short teasing scenes and a couple of lesbian scenes.

Particularly disappointing were the Morrigan h-scenes. Her character is that she is an edgy half-demon who is madly in love with PC. That is a hot scenario, no doubt. But it doesn't really factor into any of her lewd stuff. She grinds on your crotch or demands you pleasure/finger her while saying some lines of dialogue, then leaves... the end.

In summary - the story is bloated (to its own detriment) and as a result lewd content suffers in terms of quality and quantity.

Additionally, the sandbox mode is a problem mainly due to the timer being too slow. This was repeatedly pointed out last update but has not been solved. In this update it's a little bit quicker than last time but still way too slow. It's an extremely minor fix and apparently the dev just can't get it right for whatever reason. Moreover, there isn't much actual gameplay in the sandbox mode, you mostly just pass laws and wait for the coins to fill up. This combined with the timer issue leads to very frustrating "gameplay" if you can even call it that. There is a non-sandbox version available though, so it doesn't affect my rating.

It has a lot of potential, but most of it isn't made use of because of over-ambitious design. The sandbox doesn't contribute anything, neither does the huge prologue, the subplots, most of the LIs etc. It can still be redeemed if the dev decides to give it a serious redo and trim the excess fat of both story and dialogue, while expanding the lewd content. As already mentioned the western mythological/supernatural setting is unique. I actually liked a couple of the non-lewd scenes, they were genuinely creative and prove that the dev can do much better if he has a clearer vision for the game as a whole. Gfx range from 3 to 4 out of 5. There are a few animations, which are smooth but not very detailed and don't contribute much if anything to h-scenes. More images are a better use for the limited resources of a solo dev than a few mediocre animations.

Last but not least, MadKing seems like a cool dude who is passionate about making this game. Maybe in another year or three, I'll be happily surprised to find this game once again in a revised and finished state and with more than a few short, unremarkable lewd scenes. For the time being, I rate it 3/5.

Vis is a game full of Subtlety, Ambition and Passion. Just for that, big thanks to Mad King.

Going to the game, the first time I launched Vis, I felt a lot of inspiration from Baldur's Gate or Conan, there are six important characters, namely, Morgana, Morrigan, Liliana, Lilith, Anete and You.

Morgana, the Queen and former warrior, her story is very much centered on her regrets, her heart but also on her Lust, which is developing for her s.. you. Should she succumb to her deep desires?

Morrigan, half Demon&Angel, she has Unmatched and Overflowing power, but also a mad love for you which borders on fanaticism. She will be able to control herself? Or will you give into this hate?

Liliana, the young Princess, she will be the actress and victim of several events that will mark her, like her mother, she has fantasies for you. There is only a few choices about her, but as the story unfolds, you will understand that she will have an important role. Is our young princess will become one day a Tyrant?

Lilith, Succubus? Demon? Whatever what she is, she will help you, help you a lot, but is there a price to pay? Does she get a lot of power out of it? What is the absolute goal? Domination? Lust? Vengeance? It's a bit of all of that.

Anete, on the road for vengeance you will meet a Innocent and very curious young elf, at first sight she does not seem very important, but is this fortuitous meeting really due to hazard? She is much more important than she seems. Corruption? Romance? Or simply Friends? What will be your influence?

You, Prince and Heir of a Tyrant, weak and selfish, you are covered by Comfort and Lust, you have to change or die, the way in which you are going to change is in your hands, are you going to be like your Father? Are you going to be a righteous King? Or will you be something else?

The Choices.
Choices are related to You and your Kingdom(Lover, Seducer, Warrior, Leader.), currently v1.4, these choices do not have repercussions. (Except for a Bad End.)

We are going to go over the choices that interest us, Lust, Romance, Corruption, these choices Open and Change the interactions of the characters.

Lust, is closely linked to the Fantasies of each character. Should they succumb to it?
Romance, is linked to the Hearts and the links that unite the characters. Will you unite those you love?
Corruption, is linked to the Depravity of each character. Will you drop them that low?

In this spoiler tag, there are comments that are for me the Opposite of what Vis is or in total incomprehension. There are a little bit of spoilers but nothing bad.
If you have a Fragile Soul, know that in future violence and shocking scenes will be in the game.
If you come only for a fap, fap, Vis focuses above all on its story, there will be more sex later.
If you don't like to Read, then Vis is not for you.

For everything I've mentioned here, that's why I like and support Vis.

If I had to mention the bad sides, three come to my mind.
1. The Sandbox requires improvement, the dev knows it and two versions are planned, one with sandbox and the other without.
2. Translation errors, for this the dev has hire a new proofreader.
3. Vis is a universe with a big ambition, which means a lot of development which takes time.

If you are against all this, I have only one thing left to tell you.

Mad King, you are making a great game, those who follow and support you will continue, keep going!

First of all remember that this game has been around for ALMOST 3 YEARS!
I remember i had already reviewed this game a long time ago, but my review is not here, i guess it got reseted or something. Lets start from the beggining:

Decent graphics, that picked my attention, but this perk at the end doesnt help to make the game good, as a porn game. First of all there is a lot of text and a lot of choices to make, but as for porn there are only very few scenes that the MC can do. For the most part its others doing the things. The mc gets handjobs, and a couple of blowjobs in the ENTIRE GAME. Then you can do other stuff, as part of dreams or during dreams of others, of course its dreams, like when the mother is imagining the mc fucking her (this scene is NTR)
There is a ton of NTR, but for me its actually not cause in my personal opinion i couldnt care less about most of the characters. And some of the NTR is performed by women, which doesnt count, but its there.

I couldnt believe my eyes when right before the end of the last update, in a "sex" scene with morrigan what you actually get, during that threesome is a blowjob. There are 2 girls and none of them allow you to actually fuck them. THIS IS ENDGAME scene.
And then one scene with Liliana, that is a handjob, and this is also an endgame scene.
Those are the interactions with main characters, which is supposed to be the foundation of the game.
With side characters you get 2 sex scenes, one came out of nowhere, and i didnt like that particualr girl, at all, and the other is in the previews and seriously its nothing spectacular, you have seen this scene in 60fps porn 1 million times, with better lighting and higher resolution and the same quality of character building.

Plotwise you start in a castle, and the first hard to deal with thing is that one of the supposed LIs is getting married (good luck dealing with the implications of that in a game)
Other one is kind of a controllling bitch, but if you want to get something from her you either forgive her and love her, which doesnt make sense, or ignore her and make her fuck everything she encounters.
The you find some girl that someone laves to your care, and you will get nothing from her, maybe you will touch her thigh, but you can watch how 2 other girls do stuff to her. One again, if the scenes where good, i would be awesome, im here for this, but they are so bland, unimaginative that dont have any effect really.

And the the choices, there are so many choices, with outcomes you cant make sense of, that is kind of a chaos, if those choices and dilemmas have an impact in the long term, bravo, maybe they have i dont know. BUT I WONDER:
What impact will they have during the AGE OF EMPIRES MODE? And who came with this idea? I spent 5 minutes going over menus trying to find something to do, and let me tell you, i didnt find porn during those minutes, or a way to get out of the loop. I dont download a porn game to play age of empires.
Well this review is too long already, and kind of a mess, like this game, that doesnt exactly know what to say or where to go.

Pros:
-Mc shows narrative and stat growth over time.
-Mc character model is badass
-Setting and lore are somewhat compelling.

Cons:
-Pacing is varied and sophomoric
- Female character's emotiveness is often not very believable
- Skin used for the MC's "rod" is really ugly / strange.

At first it was a pretty decent middle age story with some dark magic and incest but then there was a subplot with demons and gods not involving the MC directly, didnt like it but whatever.

The renders are top and the models seem unique to me.

The worst part of this game is the MC. He doesnt look bad but his character OH MEN! He is no beta male cock but such a pretentious childish whiny retarded bitch who doesnt learn from his mistakes and always jumps into his death. His brain only works for bodily funtions like breathing, only most of the time. When it comes to intelligence and logic you are on the wrong adress.

Edit to Edit 5: didnt see the sandbox tag uff and now i am presented with a sandbox game after playing a choice driven visual novel, my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

It's not a game. It's a poorly written Visual Novel (a.k.a. powerpoint presentation) with click-to-see-next-slide "gameplay". A really confusing story (if you can even call it a "story") that makes little sense, adds little excitement and quickly becomes annoying or even frustrating. It is boringly linear (no choices or dialogue options), messy (constant change of viewpoint, multiple MCs) and unfocused (goes all over the place, lots of uninteresting filler, many flashbacks and dreams that doesn't make any sense) with the "main" MC being a major ass. It may be a part of the story but that doesn't make him or the story interesting. Writing is really bad and childish, dialogue is stiff, unnatural and weird (apparently your name is "my friend" because that's what's everyone are calling you). There's a system of lust-love points that doesn't do anything and serves no purpose. This game is a powerpoint presentation: you click to see next slide and watch how the (more and more absurd) story unfolds. The one or two choices you make during the "playthrough" are just illusion of choice - self-explenatory sex related (and only limited to three main girls), e.x.: do you want to hug her - and probably have sex later on or not. Other than that - you can't choose anything, there are no dialogue options (which is the easiest way to give the "game" some gameplay) and you're forced to play as a horny imbecile. It could be fun if the story had any humor but it's stiff and boring, takes itself far too serioulsy and doesn't even bother with a single joke. All-in-all a terrible VN.

I'm writing this review after playing Version: 1.4 Ch.1. Here's what I liked and did not like so far.

+ THE STORY & WRITING:
A very unique well written story. Writing is interesting enough to keep you engaged.
+ VISUALS:
When I first played the game, I thought it was a masterpiece and I still think the same. The renders are some of the best.
+ MC:
Handsome, was unlikeable at first but grew has grown on me. Good character development.
+ CHARACTERS:
Characters are beautiful and look different from one another. They all have unique personalities and are very well written.
+ GAMEPLAY:
Sandbox? But it plays like a VN.
+ CHOICES?
Good amount of choices.
+ THE SEX SCENES:
Fappability - 5/5 Plenty of scenes.

VERDICT:
Played this game two years ago and instantly fell in love with it. It still remains one of my favorites.

Hamlet for wankers?

Lots of lost potential due to the unfocused story.

The MC is so indecisive and unfocused that it is sometimes painful to watch. Long bouts of drinking/whoring/(depression?) are interrupted by short and mostly nonsensical frenetic activities. Once these fail, there is no follow-up plan or any other reasonable consequence, just more drinking and self pity?

Accordingly, it is sometimes hard to keep track of the time. (Did MC drink for a day or a month since the last scene?)

Everyone agrees that the MC has huge potential for greatness, once he gets his ass moving and stop whoring around; but frankly to me it is completely unclear what positive qualities the MC should have.

On top of that there is a confusing backstory with demons? not clear.

Story is silly not just in the overall construction, but also in the details. (Authority figure wants to let a convicted witch get away, but it would be too blatant to just let her walk out of the barn she is currently held in, so the plan is to dig a tunnel (!?)for her to escape and then burn the barn down!?)

Graphics fine, writing OK.

Let me begin with the story.. it’s one of a kind and fucking well written to such a point that I had to quick forward few of sex scenes in the eagerness to know the next. It’s definitely a change from your typical school - college shit.
Render quality is good enough & the characters are nicely done though I would have liked milf character to bit more thick . Also the over possessive nature of characters like Morrigan is tad bit to the annoying side but she is badass & that compensates it for me at least, may be it is just me or I excepted Ava to bring her a peg down in the fight between them or hope she does it in the future. With bit more steamy scenes this game will be DAMN…!!
The recent sandbox update is one hell of a grind it reminds of that one game which sponsors almost every YouTuber where you keep the combat mode on auto and go to sleep. It could have been little more engaging or tied with some quests from the game.
Overall the game has lots of potential & I can’t believe i discovered it this late.

Prologue was good with well-written scripts and scenes , but after the new update the game's gameplay seems somewhat mediocre ..,, sandbox interface is bad and its a mess . AND i hope the developer will improve in the next update, > the visual novel was fun to play.. and the adaptation to sandbox platform wastnt smooth

I like the new sistem and the new content. We have new world for exploration and other benefits. The game it's getting better with this lasts update.
The battle was good and waiting next update for more content and the brothel girls . For the kingdom and the king.

I think it's the best medieval game on the site. The models and the story are very realistic and well thought out.

The part that is a little low in terms of realism is the incest part. Your mother and your sisters have been in love with you since childhood and this makes things so easy. All they think about are who you sleep with, and they are often jealous of each other. Not very realistic but acceptable.

The game is really good, I greet the producers respectfully, and I look forward to future updates.

Characters 10/10: Unique Models and fuck these characters are soo awesome you enjoy every moment with them (Morrigan and Lilith )

Renders 10/10: the games' renders are on the highest levels you find on this page (can be compared with BEING a DIK, Come Inside etc.)

Story 10/10: I loved the story so much I actually played this game multiple times (completely subjective here because im a huge fan of the setting and there is no better game on this platform) and I havent done this in any other game. the writing style is really high quality stuff and I've never skipped through any text. there is especially one scene I wont forget (Morrigan's fate scene) because it was soo well written with demon temptation on point (not sure whether this was copied from sth but it doesnt matter to me when its great)

MC 9/10: the MC is pretty lame in the beginning pretty much whoring and drinking are his most important aspects. Keeps failing and stands up again. Some might not enjoy that he makes mistakes and has not the best judgement but I think this is much more believable character development which isnt even thought of in other games! He tries to steadily improve himself to become the person he needs to be and he will be!

XXX scenes 7/10: there is not much sex in the first chapter but the surprising factor when I played the first time - it didnt even brother me! I was completely soaked up by the story but I am sure there will be more in future updates

Choices 5/10: atm neutral, not much to say. there is some impact of your decisions but considering the fact that this is only chapter one you dont get a huge impact right away. although I had some hard descisions and you basically form your character/the ones around which will lead to the path you wanna go in the following chapters, so fingers crossed I hope I didnt fuck up completely

I really want more content of this game and the game dev Mad King didnt disappoint once so freaking SUPPORT HIM on PATREON!!!

Look, I'm not going to lie, I only started playing this game because tags included anal sex, twins and religion and I felt this had potential. Have I got what I came for? Not exactly, because there's barely any fucking in it.
And I'm not even mad, because instead, I got one of the best stories I ever experienced in visual novels.

Don't worry, there is some fucking. And pretty good one, I'll admit.
One of the first scenes involves a girl eating her sister's ass in a threesome, and sooner or later more depraved shit is bound to happen, so… I really don't think I'm going to be disappointed in this department.

But the strongest feature of this game are story and characters.
A lot of effort went into creation of interesting word, which feels like it has a vast background, rather than being just another empty place.
It's politics, religion and mythology are being uncovered and enriched with each update. And it's a good thing, because writing is really solid. I don't even mind side-stories that come up from time to time. These aren't just fillers, author gives them similar amount of attention as main storyline, and if you get invested into actual plot, you start to appreciate this level of detail.

Characters are another strong point, because everyone actually feels and talks like a different person. And this isn't something I see a lot in these games.
For a fair amount of authors here a proper character creation seems to be a struggle at best, and Mad King isn't one of them.
I'd even say that compared to a certain woman, MC isn't the star of this show. She makes killing people feel gracious and natural, and she is written so good, that it's really hard to not feel enchanted anytime she appears. I would give six stars just because of her.

Now, now, this doesn't mean that MC is written poorly. Quite the contrary.
At the start of the game he seemed repulsive to me. But once I progressed further into the plot, I noticed a lot of emphasis here is placed on character development, a boy becoming a man. In my eyes, this slowly unfolding story really complements it.
The same applies to relations progression. You won't have everything that you like as fast as you would like to.
And I have to say, it's really rewarding aspect. In the longer run.

It really shows you that when you wait for something and it finally happens, it is so much more fun to experience rather than getting it straight away. Barely teasing with a certain cold-hearted witch felt more exciting to me than fucking some wench a few minutes later.


If you like reading and getting immersed into the story, you will enjoy it. And once you try to relate to MC and won't rush it, it quickly becomes very satisfying.

I hope you'll have as much fun with it as I had.

Vis is hardly the only VN I've played that delves into fantasy tropes, but it is by far the best. It's obviously pretty early in development, but so far the pacing is propulsive with a lot of intriguing characters, and an MC who actually feels like they are on a journey and are evolving as a character. That said, he is occasionally upstaged in his own game by his sister Morrigan, who is a beautiful and complex badass. (Morgana and Lilith also two excellent characters so far)

The artwork and renders aren't the best I've ever seen, but they are very good, and immerse the player in the world building being done, which is important, because there is a lot going on here.

I'm not sure how I feel about the proposed 'empire building game' that will soon be worked into the story, it seems like it has the potential to really grind the movement of the plot to a standstill, and to add a lot of complexity...but the Mad King hasn't led me wrong so far...so I'm definitely along for the ride.

Edited 11/12/2021 - Everything I said above is true, but I can't be fair about this game and not warn any potential player that the sandbox implementation has been an absolute disaster...derailing a great VN. I believe in this dev, so I have faith it will be worked out one way or another...but until that happens I must reduce from 5 stars to 4. Hopefully just for now.

The game definitely requires recognition because the developer wants to create a large, ambitious world with a complex story. Something different than most games that are made. It takes some time for player to get used to MC because he is not a typical hero of this type of game. He starts off as a slightly lost rebel with no goal, and is about to deal with the burden of being king. It depends on us who he will be. Threads sometimes constitute a conundrum of what's actually going on, but there's a bigger plan for everything (i hope). Relationships between the characters are built neatly and with an idea. The women looks very pretty and they aren't just a "sperm bag". They are character and have their goals. There is still not much sex scene, but that should change soon. Renders are a big plus. 1.3 update ends with a very good scene with one of the characters! It is animated! Music can be a bit too monotonous and too much epic . Could use a slight positive theme 4.5 / 5 with the potential for much more.

my biggest issue is the dislikable protagonist.
he's an arrogant asshole, I understand that it is a part of the story but that doesn't make him or the story interesting. he has 5 modes: a complete arrogant asshole, a pussy who cannot stand up for himself, a kid with two working braincells, a way to horny asshole and a horny pussy, who thinks way to much about sex and is so easily manipulated with sex.
I think this could change later into this game, but with how annoying he is now, I really doubt it would be worth it to play further.
furthermore there is a lack of choices. how does it make sense that I can choose whether Ava dies or lives, but can't choose whether to fuck her or not. when there's no choice whether to to be interested in somebody o not, that person at least has to be likeable and/or important to the story. to me she not likeable, and her entire character and the conflict revolving her to be removed, without it mattering in the big picture. it is just way to add some sex, that ends up being uninteresting and mundane. to much forced sexual content, like with Anete and that bitch that want her her mum. that was so unnecessary, and of course Anete loves that. that is how it works: when you force people to do sexual things, they will end up loving it it wanting to return the favor, especially when there is way more pressing matters, like her and her moms survival, she is totally gonna enjoy that forced sex so much.
the only thing that the game does well is the good graphics and two interesting characters'. that's all, though I feel like the overarching plot could be interesting. the good stuff is hidden behind a game that tries to much an too hard and completely fails at almost everything.

and of course the girls love you so much for no fucking reason, because of course there is. the boy goes from having to pay hookers for sex to every woman loving him, while he is still the same annoying person.

don't play this game , unless you want to play as someone who is (in my opinion) very dislikable and not have choices.
if that is what you like(for some weird reason) then I will 100% recommend this game.
but if you are a normal person, I would not recommend this game.

This game IMO has a lot of potential. What is holding it back for me though is that there's no cohesion if you get what I mean? The story just seems all over the place.

I've just finished the part in Oblivion after Anete is taken from her mother to the mortal realm and I still don't have a clue of what the plot of the story is? If this game can get its plot together then it could be amazing but right now it's just all over the place for me hence just 3 stars.
