Heh, yeah...I tried to draw. Ain't nobody getting aroused by that shit... I can tell you that for sure! I'm certainly a better writer than artist...hence my use of Daz3d.
I like the anime style as well... I just can't pull it off :/

Just a list of some of the games I play:
-Cloud Meadows (Gay/Straight):
It's a pretty great game. Farmville style and rpg fighting style.
-Trials in Tainted Space (Gay/Straight):
Not a big fan of text based games but it has some pictures and its made pretty well.
-Fek (Gay/Straight):
If you're into furries, he has several games that are pretty entertaining. Games like Rack, Midnight Fireworks, Bedplay, or Rack 2.
-Extracurricular Activities (Gay)
One of my favs. I was never a furry fan until I played this. Amazing stories and character design.
-Kemo Coliseum (Gay)
It's furry as well. I like the action fighting style and the story is entertaining. If you like a well-created action puzzle game, you will love it.
-Hard Times in Hornsville (Gay/Straight):
At first I disliked it because I don't like text games, but until I started reading it; I caught on to it. It has 3d models that will appear to give you a visual.
-Camp Buddy (Gay)
It's a very cute and funny game. It's not complete but it's a very promising game.
-Super Health Club (Gay)
Full of muscle guys you can date from the gym you manage. A well-made story with some voice acting. It does cost to buy it but here's the link you can use to get it for free.
-The End of Dreams Chapter 1(Gay)
A nice intro to RPG games. Chapter 2 is out but it's in JPN. Can't wait for the ENG version. You might find it on another site to download, but I got it from bara as well.

I came across 'Straight' recently and that led to me search if there were more like it out there but sadly there's not much. I found 'Two Sides' and couple of others that were mentioned in this thread but nearly not as many as I initially thought there would be. It looks like Ren'py games are easy to mod so I was thinking I could just make some gay mods to the existing straight-oriented games that are out there. I have some of the characters files that are used in those games and if I get the environment to look as close as possible, it wouldn't look too off. I want to learn Ren'py mechanics and learning by making mods with content I'm interested in seems like a great idea.

Go for it. I actually had a pretty good response on here from the community given the limited gay content. Even those who weren't interested in the content seemed welcoming just for the variety. Hell, we all have our own quirks. You'e right though, there ain't shit for gay content in games like this. That's why I started researching stuff to write my own. Def not making millions doing it but it's been fun and overall I've been pleased with the support that I've gotten...especially on a slow-burn game like Straight?! is. Hell, this is the site that I launched it from and I've got over 100 patreons now. There's a market for it, imo.

There is definitely an under-served niche for gay games in the western market. The Japanese have plenty of yaoi games, though they tend to be by and for women for the most part. Personally I have no interest in pure gay content, guys who look like guys just don't do it for me. I do enjoy a good looking dick, but I'm only interested in them when they are on a cute trap or sexy futa or someone sticking it into something cute/sexy. Anyhow, best of luck with your project, as long as you've got a good story and not terrible renders you should do well with it.

It's starting to grow more and more. I was about to say the same that the Japanese market has plenty of gay games. Bara is starting to grow as well, which is the masculine type of men. There is plenty and I do mean plenty of futa (not my cup of tea but I don't mind it). I just wish they did not brand Futa and trap as gay content because it's not. lol But anyway the market is growing with a variety of stuff now that everyone can find something they love.

I hear you regd the futa content being branded as gay. I'm a bit tired of yaoi mainly because once you've played one of them, you've played them all.

Dusting off this old thread to mention 2 more on the horizon. "To Trust an Incubus" & "Full Service" are both on the demo stage but are supposedly going to release full before the end of the year.

I keep trying but nothing really has the story I want. They all seem so juvenile. Or they all have completely shaved guys and I'm obviously not a fan if the shota stuff. If you find some recommendations, let me know

Personally I also distinguish between porn games, where the goal is to reach as much content as possible in as little time as possible, and adult VN's which tell a good story which happens to have sex. I'm not sure about the terminology, but I'm sure you get what I mean.
Absolutely. And since there's more straight games, you just have more of a selection regardless of what you want. Hell, even most of the straight games are pretty basic and juvenile, though. I also will acknowledge language barriers given that much of the adult gaming world seems to be very independent. I picture other people like me just sitting at home in a pair of basketball shorts typing a game or screwing around on Daz/Honey Select. Honestly, I'm ok with that because the more the better. However, the overall quality always seems to lack something. For example, in my game I'm better at the writing than I am the graphics or the coding aspect. So my dialogue is stronger but everything else is subpar. In contrast, other devs may excel at rendering images but their writing sucks and the characters are flat and mostly uninteresting.
but you're right @Thialf , I do think there's a difference between those games with character development vs those where you just corrupt or try and get people fucking. Maybe I'm just a sucker for story and character development but I also respect that some people just wanna get to the good part--myself including sometimes. The gay game community just doesn't have those options yet, though.
