Why'd Sasaki start with fischl and yanfei?? Should've started with the female Archons first

In the last shot of the Yanfei video he already modeled them all, including Nahida

Sasaki better be cooking up Furina and Nahida videos i'm the most excited for them

Yes. Check out DarkDreamsVR. They coordinate with some of the best animators in this space. High quality both in animation and resolution and VR translation.

To be honest, AnimaTed's videos are terrible. I downloaded their whole collection last year only to scrub it and find I didn't like a single video from them. The videos are all either stiff, poorly animated, the same 5sec loop on repeat, or are poorly rendered in VR in terms of scaling and attention to detail.

Have they improved since then?

You're right, and that's the case with 90% of VR creators. At least VRanimated has made a ton of work, so there are videos I find appealing because it's a character I like, for example.

But yeah, DarkDreamsVR is consistently high quality and has been for years.
I'm going through his old works now, and I'm experimenting with converting his old fisheye format videos to equirectangular format in addition to AI upscaling them.
2017 and 2018 videos are all fisheye, 2019 is a mix of both as that's the year he switched, and 2020 to now are all equirectangular, I think.
To those who don't know, "equirectangular" is just a VR projection format that is more efficient than the "fisheye" type.

If you guys could take a look and see if it plays and looks correctly on your hardware, that would be great. The .zip has the original DarkDreams video + equirectangular conversion + final AI upscale version.

Looks good. New projection works well with no issue or adjustments needed. The AI upscaling is very subtle, I had to switch back and forth to really tell the difference. For these old videos the legacy pixelated shadows is always going to be an issue.

Let me just say that I agree with you 100%. With that said, I feel like I remember reading somewhere that its simply just because its less work/easier to animate and that makes sense honestly. Its probably a pain in the ass to do facial expressions properly. The same idea applies for why anal as opposed to vaginal is so prevalent.

I mean the thing is when considering the realm of "VR animator's" the 3 most subbed creators (at least what I think still are) in the realm of VR CGI lewd primarily re-render other animator's content, and that has to do with both who they can get to collaborate with them along with what content is actually going to render well in VR.
Realistically standing doggy-style scene's already are gonna have a more significant fov coverage & thus scenery within frame.
Many animators tend to work in a realm of only having scenery within the camera framing, same with animated parts. Like they aren't gonna bother to animate toe wiggles or facial expressions if those things aren't in the camera frame for what they plan to render.

As far as when VR content creators are making their own animations though, i believe the most common concern with doing quality facial expressions is getting good lipsyncing.

Which is infuriating because Howl makes some of the best femdom animation and for some reason ever time Ted touches one it comes out atrocious. It's aggravating really.
