it's one of the stronger revenge arcs in AVNs, blending humor, drama,without going full generic. Feels like a guilty pleasure with meme-y writing and badass MC schemes and a good plot. 7.5/10 for the sheer volume/variety, but docked for eternity-dev (Patreon since 2018?) support Irphaeus on Patreon for betas. If you like dark harem corruption, dive in worth it despite flaws! About the false choices people have been whining about (aka "wrong option = bad end/game over") are 100% standard in interactive games, and it's absolutely the player's fault for misjudging. Think classic adventure games (Monkey Island traps), RPGs (wrong dialogue tanks rep), or moderns like Detroit: Become Human/Until Dawn where one slip dooms a run. The karma system:
Okay some people were saying the karma system was pointless and useless I'm pretty sure that was obvious because The karma system in Waifu Academy is a morality tracker (Light/Good/High vs. Dark/Bad/Low) that influences dialogues, minor scene variations, and crucially sets up the game's three confirmed multiple endings. It's not "pointless" overall, but yeah, it feels vestigial right now in v0.13.5 public (~15% complete) because impacts are subtle and the main story stays linear regardless.

DESIGN:
Nah, the "bad or lazy design" complaints about Waifu Academy's visuals are mostly outdated gripes from picky players comparing it to 2024-2025 AVN masterpieces ignoring it's a solo dev project launched in 2018 using Honey Select 2 (HS2, peak tech ~2020) with 30+ unique girls and 1000s of renders/animations. Irphaeus isn't lazy he's grinding massive updates (e.g., v0.13.5 Nov 2025 added 26 new animations alone). "Dated" ≠ bad—it's consistent hot HS quality that still slaps for 70%+ reviewers. 2018 start = inevitable "dated" by 2025 standards (like calling GTA V "lazy" vs. GTA VI). But 1.6k Patreons stick for plot/hot girls visuals hold up.


The sandbox format people have been talking about:
the "freeroam" map is essential , not pointless bloat. Waifu Academy is a structured semi-sandbox VN: Linear revenge plot advances via deliberate map navigation to timed locations (e.g., School Club Mon 3PM for Asuka progress, Park evenings for Nanali,)

Overall this AVN is good but not the best.

In terms of most well rounded for content, this game is by far the best for HS2. There's tons of content, as you can see in the tags, and it's not all teases necessarily as it so often is in the actual gameplay. Updates are somewhat lacking recently but just given how long this game's been out there's no reason to not play this game if you haven't so far.

And finally the MC managed to have sex with his main objective!!! we can now say that this AVN is finished...

Years ago this AVN it was one of the best and most promising games, many years has passed... today it's just another dinosaur trying to survive...
I would even dare to declare that all AVNs that are already more than 5 years in development we can called "terminated", especially if these games in question take almost six months or a year between each update...

If the person reading this is someone who donates money to the Devs let me tell you something "Don't keep the dinosaurs alive, force them to evolve"

I'm giving 3/5 just because at least scenes and CGI are better than a lot of other VN / games.

Over 7 years of development and the amount of content is barely fair.

Story mostly sucks.

Characters are meh.

A similar game (but 4.5/5 stars) in terms of renders/engine/models is Pale Carnations and it's way above this game in every aspect.

Poor story, interesting plot, good models but terrible scenes.

[Story]- The story is full of bs in general and full of impossible things that ignore physics, science, etc... like wall tiles that are attached to Only wallpaper but don't collapse. Characters that can't behave in a coherent fashion as the dev. is just incapable of logic. Seems like they wanted to do a sandbox, as sometimes there are "options", but, thankfully, the choices are mostly linear. The story IS linear and completely ignores any choice you make in the future and pretends that you always chose the evil path. Do yourself a favor and just choose those instead of choosing the options that get less content. Mostly, your choices will decide whether you miss some content or not, because you either choose to skip content or you Must choose in a specific order to pick all the options, so it's better to just use a walk-through mod. Dev. is also lazy and will re-use the same scenes for some repeating actions and not even bother to take away the original dialogue, so it's like you're doing it for the very first time =). I did get interested in the school conspiracy mystery, and the depravity was a bit of a hook. MC will conspire and do all kinds of nasty and criminal things without batting an eye. I Don't like how dev. tried to portrait other men doing the same thing as evil, as MC is really no different. That stuff was "interesting", but it's not enough to carry the game. I wouldn't get my hopes up on those "branches" ever getting finished, I just don't get that vibe from dev.-san.

[Gameplay]- Nothing to say that I didn't in [Story]. It's a linear novel with fake dialogue "choices". You will want to save some Scenes, as not all of them are in the gallery.

[Scenes]- The main reason why this game gets a low score. I really like the models, they look great, but then you get to the scenes, and they're mediocre. The loops are Short and the angles are terrible. No matter how great the build up was or how great chicks were looking, I wasn't able to get off to a Single scene. They're just bad. Certainly not worth continuing on with this game in the future.

TLDR: Tricky rating. Despite having a gangbang with a DP the game is only worth 2 stars. Outdated models. Kinetic and cringy story. No depth, no relationships with the (far too many) girls. Terrible and constant humor. Mostly boring vanilla scenes. Useless sandbox format. But some hot girls, school setting, public molestation, and a large amount of content.

Positives:

• Gangbang and DP. It's MC's decision so it's sharing (good!), not NTR. Unfortunately the dev still messed it up by letting the strangers take the girl's virginities and just giving MC sloppy seconds.
• Dominating and degrading girls during sex.
• Non-consent and blackmail.
• Molesting the girls on the subway.
• Most of the girls are virgins. Only a couple are sluts already at the start. So MC has the chance to corrupt the innocent girls properly.
• School setting, including sexy school uniforms.
• Drugs that have a basic mind-control/arousal. But the dev, sadly, chooses to ignore this after a short while.
• Taking a girl's anal virginity before her pussy virginity. Hot!
• Incest. Especially the sister is hot and wild.
• Some annoying, dominant girls you can turn into submissive sluts.
• The gangbang is with a hot virgin high school girl and she gets both her virginities taken while being filmed.

Negatives:

• Awful dialogue, maybe the worst I've seen. Extremely cringe-worthy, terrible and incessant attempts at humor, outdated references, Japanese terminology, etc.
• Blueballing! The moment MC is about to insert the dick there's an interruption. Very frequent, frustrating and poorly written. Why? Even after you've fucked the girl, the next time you'll get blueballed! Doesn't make any sense.
• Poor and outdated character models and rendering.
• Have to watch other guys have sex with the girls (without MC).
• Forced to watch other guys grope your girls' breasts and asses. Filming your girls naked, etc. Several times. Why?
• Kinetic. Some small illusion of choice but even that doesn't impact the story itself just some interactions with each girl.
• After you've had sex with any girl one time she's then basically forgotten about, doesn't feature much and no further scenes.
• Story is cringe-worthy, anime-style, weird and unconvincing.
• 24 girls, which is far too many. No depth, no relationships. And the girls are forced on you.
• Almost all of the 24 girls constantly try to manipulate MC. Tiresome and immature.
• Forced femdom. Many times. And again the game gives you a poor illusion of choice; there's in the end only one path and it's, unfortunately, forced femdom.
• Almost only boring vanilla scenes. And most scenes are far too short and basic.
• Very much a work-in-progress, including many messages (excuses) from the dev, buttons that don't work, unfinished paths, etc.
• Over-the-top "anime". Including characters saying things like "fufufu~", "baka" and other Japanese words.
• "Choices" that aren't actually choices. E.g. gives you three options but exactly one of them is required for progressing and the other two "options" just force you to repeat your "choice". Also, "choices" that are just one button and stops the game flow.
• UI is worse than standard Renpy. E.g. saving takes more clicks.
• Game overs from many choices. Frequent and annoying.
• Uses slurs like faggot.
• One-dimensional characters such as the rich bully, the tsundere, etc.
• Useless sandbox format. Game is kinetic VN but adds a "freeroam" map with some locations.
• Talking lots of bullshit and jokes _during_ sex.
• Dialogue is unnecessarily long, verbose.
• Several sex scenes that turn out to just be fantasies after the fact.
• MC changes personality completely from scene to scene. E.g. sometimes he's absolutely dominant, relentlessly pursuing and seducing girls to fuck, and the next scene he's hesitant and almost convincing girls to not fuck. "Are you sure? Are you really, really sure though? Maybe we shouldn't do this..." etc.
• Karma system doesn't make sense and isn't explained. E.g. making a girl a slave gives positive karma. Likewise with peeping on a girl in the shower. Consequences unknown, not shown.
• Animations have typical Honey Select problems such as no body collision, look unnatural, clipping, etc. But get better over time.
• After literally 27 vaginal sex scenes the game still thinks it's a "special treat" to get to fuck a girl vaginally instead of anally. What? The girl is bragging about how much anal she does and then gives the "special" gift of vaginal to MC. I was hoping it would finally be some more anal but no.
• MC's dick looks stupid and changes across scenes.

This game is pretty good, especially whenever Helen or Asuka are on screen; their character designs and story arcs (Asuka) are genuinely entertaining. However, the development speed is so notoriously slow, with years passing between every single update, that it feels like a perpetual work-in-progress. Given the current pace, I am completely convinced that none of us will ever live to see the ending of this game, which is a truly frustrating thought for such an initially entertaining and fun game.

This game does a goo job providing what the players want in harem game; a variety of choices and several sofcore and a little bit hardcore kinks. My only complaint about this game is why karma system inconsistent and sometimes there is only one scene from the choices. I don't know how Dev trying to define the good karma is perverted act while the bad karma with slighty more perverted than good karma. Overall, I hope this game can give player a satisfying endings based on karma that Players took.

Waifu Academy [v.0.13.0] - No Spoilers

This was my favourite VN on the site back when it released, and I would have rated it 5/5 at the time. Nothing else was so comical, sexy, and engaging. I've been letting updates accumulate since 2020, and now that I'm all caught up, its flaws are more apparent to me, and maybe even more numerous. Fortunately, its strengths remain unchanged.

The most amazing component here is the varied cast of characters. There are so many girls to go around; each with a unique personality and storyline. You are guaranteed to like some and dislike others. I enjoy seeing how they interact with each other. Rivals clash, best friends gossip, and new relationships emerge as they gradually get dragged into the MC's problems (or cause them for him). What I don't like is that their sex scenes are often underwhelming or treated irreverently with inane dialogue. The worst is when you've been anticipating a moment with a particular character, but the scene keeps changing to something off-putting. It kills the mood.

The story is unpredictable, almost always interesting, and still as engaging as I remember it. The choices presented do a decent job of moulding the protagonist to your liking. He's very cunning and usually one step ahead of everyone with his plans, and he scores women easily. Imagine, then, how frustrating it can be when the writer suddenly makes him oblivious to the intentions of female characters, merely to build more anticipation for the eventual climax.

The writing overall is smart, funny - especially if you enjoy slapstick - and heavily influenced by pop culture. It can be heavy-handed with the references at times, and like with the large cast of characters, you won't like all of it. In fact, if you're not a fan of what you're reading in the first hour, then I don't recommend that you continue. The jokes never slow down, and worse, it seems like more typos are introduced the more that you get caught up. (It felt like I was seeing a typo every 5-10 minutes in my last few hours of reading.)

Despite my 4-star rating, you won't find many better novels on this site. For me, it hasn't lived up to its potential to be a masterpiece, but I'd still put it in my top ten. I'm eagerly waiting to see what plotlines will develop and which characters will get dragged into something next. The question is, how long will I have to wait? I'm getting old over here!

I will miss playing this game, great story, great characters, great protagonist background story, and don't get me start on the dialogues, the funny lines are so entertaining. This game truly makes you feel like you're not playing but live in the setting they made. I hope the developers will continue producing until its completed.

Story is good too its rising hero plus revenge story with traumatic past etc with heavy dark themed one too not yet fully revealed but you can guess it since i am sure many of us read or played game like this and not gonna lie its can be cringe time to time and some characters out living their time you know ? they should gone year ago but some reason author keeping them to later story.

Characters good really good every one of them their own story and right now %50 revealed and other %50 left so i am curious to see their own stories and their personality good too but sadly not all of them get time on screen and looks like we need to wait for more to that.

The dialogue in this game is still lively and funny. It often makes me laugh, and I think that makes this game something special compared to most other games in this genre.

This update 0.13 had a somewhat surprising (and unbelievable) scene with Rikuna, who had a prisoner in her house. But maybe it was necessary to make the story continue sensibly.

Otherwise, I also think that a plot from Japan makes this game a little extra interesting compared to the typical European and North American settings.

A lot of games with this kind of models tend to drop in quality, but this one doesn't. And of course, there's also the whole thing about having something that catches your eye — and just the images alone already grab your attention. The story is good, even if it's the usual kind you find in these games, but come on, who's really focusing that hard on the plot? The animations are top-notch, and the female characters are well-designed and not just copy-paste. If you're looking for something quick and well-made, this should definitely be one of your first picks

Aside from terrible development game have:
False choices - aka choices leads nowhere you have to select B
Stupid game overs - aka choice that leads to game over and main menu
Broken autosaves - in combo with the above you can get game over progress reset
lack of choices around sex, everything to do with a girl is set in stone and your only option is to have only 1 version of the events and done

Pros:
easy to play
promises of choices with consequences
Girls does not looks bad, very generic tho
main character is not idiot, but its a bit creepy with girls

Wannabe Sandbox game that is actually just a linear story. Minor variance in choices that don't actually affect the overall story (just some dialogue differences). Karma system that has been (so far) pointless.

On the other hand, I find myself actually interested in the story, the girls are sexy, and the sex scenes are decent enough.

Drop the pretension that the story isn't on rails, and get rid of options to do stuff that don't really do anything, like going to the bathroom for 1 Karma Point or going to the nurse's office to find out she isn't there. Make the Karma actually mean something or get rid of it entirely. Maybe change some "Game Over" choices to not be game over based on your Karma.

I'd really like to see this game be more than it is, instead of trying to be what it isn't.

This games is pretty much a time capsule because holy fucking tap dancing monkeys is this game great.
It has hilarious call backs to meme culture imbeded into the karma system even going as far as to reference witney dog fucker, or the heart of the cards from yugioh, to even 2 fast 4 u memes.
These jokes really sweetens the mood of the game. The writing and gorgeous 3D visuals are also amazing and it some how blends nicely with a
sometimes serious story.

Everything is on a good level, story is ok, not boring, most of the characters have decent personality, the lewd scene could be longer and my main reason for 4 star it seems most of the scenes contains basic HS2 animations
