Unreal Engine - Waifu Dreams City [Build 39] [Waifu Dreams Studio]

Pretty interesting concept, it's a 3D idle game that you run around in and make passive/active income, and there's a DDR minigame, a level system, stats to put points into.
I like the game quite a bit. Not jumping for joy, since I'm a picky bitch with only a couple fetishes and a lot of turnoffs
The game also does something a lot of idle games run into problems with and actually manages to include enough active AND idle content to play either way, though idling is definitely a lot weaker than playing actively, especially since you can't idle the skill points or XP.
Still, as an idle game, it's definitely got quite a long playtime and I'm in a hurry so I Cheat Engine'd the game to see what's in it.

Each floor you unlock every ten levels has a "theme" and some associated kinks:
-1. Horny slimegirls want to have sex with you. You can shoot them with a gun that does sexy things to them to stun them so you can sex them up and "defeat" them.
0. Nothing, though there's a big spider lady and a gun you can use to do sexy things to NPCs and the negative-floor enemies.
1. A strip club (Dancing, and some backstage sex), plus a bunch of angels you can fuck later, and dumpsters full of tentacle sex. Also shops and customization.
2. A porn recording studio (Sex in front of cameras)
3. Japanese theme (Footjobs for some reason. Lots of foot stuff)
4. BDSM dungeon (BDSM, domming, restraints. Also gloryhole dicks, bukkake, and demonesses.)
5. Doctor's office (Basically just sleep sex for some reason? Also you can become a furry with awful color selections?)
6. E-girl streaming? (Masturbation in front of a PC?)
7. Showers and toilets (It's mostly POV blowjobs and nauseating camera movements. No toilet stuff, I think)
8. Barn (Milking, sex while milking, milking your/their penises, etc.)
9. Fantasy (Fairies, totally-not-Pomni jester women, some magic sex, orc women?)
10. End of beta content, placeholder room with devil outfit that lets you fuck the angel tutorial ladies. Text wall thanking you for playing.

I prefer reviews that include some negatives, so here we go:
1. The tattoos are all full-body stuff, it's all or nothing, and there's no basic tattoos like a simple womb tattoo or a gag "heart that says MOM on the arm" tattoo. I wish tattoos were done per section of the body individually.
2. The theme per-floor thing is kinda cool, but it comes with the negative that you might grind a bunch to unlock a floor that contains a turnoff for you, meaning you'll have "wasted" your time for nothing. Sucks when I was playing legit and unlocked the foot floor, heh.
3. Dancing is OP if you're decent at it, it gets you skill points AND the best XP of the game. If you can keep the combo at x50, you could probably powerlevel the whole game in like 30 minutes.

5. Cleaning cum off you can only happen while you've got the sex screen up. Showers don't clean you off and there's no clean option in the menu, so if you're bukkake'd and you're out exploring, the only way to clean yourself is to find someone for sex, then click the clean button.

7. Tons of futas. There's a toggle to turn it into a strap-on, but it's a bit inconsistent.
8. There's a bit too much environmental lighting, it's killing all shading and makes everything too bright.
9. You can't tell what a scene is going to be before doing it. Some characters will give a little blurb like "are you ready to clean my dick" or whatever, but that's about the most descriptive you'll get. This is actually really annoying, since the only way to check is to start the scene and hope you're not turned off.
10. The food buffs are a bit tacked on as a gameplay mechanic. They're too expensive when you start, but so cheap after you've played a bit, so the PROGAMERL33T strat is to run around and buy the buffs every few minutes, or just ignore them. The one that prevents your sex meter from going down is useless since masturbation is free and 90% of the game's scenes fill the meter anyway.
11. Floor 10 being a "thanks for playing" floor is weird, it should be moved up on top as the game updates. Floors 11+ don't feel broken or beta enough for floor 10 to be a "WIP warning" either.
12. The game could use a checklist or a "manager's desk" or something for us to check that lets us upgrade idle stuff remotely, and tells us what gets unlocked and when, rather than curtains with a level on them that unlocks hours later and you don't remember what's new and what's old.

Good sex framework, needs more gameplay content. Also a game where we have to pay visual attention to the arrows so we know what to press was a bad idea since we're not looking at the striptease, we're looking at the arrows.

i really enjoy the sandbox aspect of this game & being able to do quite literally anything you want along with the unique models & art style used. it just goes really well with the vibrant map & the entire theme overall.

definitely a hidden gem of a game for sure.

The NPCs and our character here are incredibly hot. This is your e-girl bimbo fantasy and I enjoy it. Environments are improving, the main hub has life with more NPCs inhabiting the streets and decorations to make the world less empty and bland. There is a variety of locations so the distinguished zones play into each fantasy and fetish is appreciated. It makes it easy to remember what places has the scene you are looking for. The only animation that is lacking is the dancing, its very awkward and not sexy, not like I would spend much time looking at it trying to hit the right QTE.

SCENES 4.5/5

These scenes also incredibly hot, there is a lot of variety in each level and almost all are very good. The few weaker ones are the high pitched moans during the Level 119 scene in the prison floor and the beach where most of the sex scenes are don't involve any strap-ons/dicks and the church where its only spanking, as well as the tit sucking scene in the farm level. The scenes are separated in "poses" and "cum" scenes with up to four poses and cum scenes a character. Weirdly some cum scenes don't always correspond to the pose scenes. A pose scene might include doggystyle but no option to cum in that position for example. For those who do not enjoy futa there is a way to make all dicks in this game strap-ons. A great choice for someone like me. You can also swap positions with your partner if you want to be receiving instead of giving, but if you chose the strap-on it will still be on your partner. I feel it would be better for those who just want just a lesbian fantasy that the strap on is removed from the NPC when the position is swapped.

GAMEPLAY 2.5/5

It starts off with as a resource management game trying to earn cash and sex points to buy strippers and upgrade your stats respectively. This is ignored after the first half hour of gameplay. If you spend time dancing and level up your XP gained and sex points gained skills. While you dance and during sex scenes you'll have enough passive income and levels that gaining resources stop becoming an issue. After the level with automated sex machines you gain so much sex points, xp, and money at an absurd rate.

Currently at build 14 there is added character customization, although the amount of items is limited it is superior to the preset outfits it had previously. I greatly enjoy this change. I only hope for that we are allowed to color our clothes instead of having dealing with presets.

There is also the addition of cum inflation. When there is the addition of a fetish on our character I always wish for the setting that disables the feature, such as turning off futa on our character I would like to see a toggle to turn off cum inflation in a later update.

CONCLUSION
This is a very easy game to pick up since there is no demand to upgrade your character or girls after the start of the game. If you're behind in levels you should be up in enough cash to buy your way there. So there is not much down time needed between levels which is a blessing when the alternative is grindy gameplay if done poorly. Will hope there is a balance of gameplay and reward in future updates. As of right now (Build 14) Waifu Dreams City is more of a giant gallery of lesbian and futa fantasy and its an incredibly hot one. Just needs a better game behind all the pleasure. Love to see where this game is going.

This game is actually fun to play, graphics are nice, runs well, isn't a grindy mess, characters look cute, has a bit customization options and well made animations.
but,
4/5 because it needs more customization options, such as individual slots for clothing and another minigame besides dancing. It would also be a nice addition some further interaction with the NPCs, short quests, and more work with the crowd I guess.

It's a good start, but is only worth about 30minutes of play time for now.

Honestly, the main reason this game deserves such a high rating is how responsive the dev is. He takes all feedback in stride, implements changes quickly to things that are too problematic/grindy, and is excellent with communicating. The game is definitely fun, still a bit light in content, but for how long it's been out, he's made insane progress compared to other game devs. But keep it up dev, your efforts are appreciated

So far i really like this one, good amount of content and its growing, keep it up, this could be a real gem when its done!

Love the always cum option in the scenes, would be even better if you could aim it better and make it collide with the NPCs as well.

I quite like the models (they do have a bit plastic look to them, but that's a plus for me) , there's fair selection of clothing options (though it's just what's on display, no mix and match, and the sex scenes have either partially undressed or naked, no fully clothed option even for blowjob scenes), and there's quite a lot of sex positions to choose from.

Unfortunately, the sex scenes feel rather empty: there's no VA, and every sex scene is just a single animation on a loop. You can have a "happy ending" in a scene, but that's just to have the main character presented fucked silly in a random position. There's also little to no face animations.

From technical aspects that people may be interested in: there's no male in the game, all sex is either with futanari or with girls, the main character can be a futa too, but that doesn't impact the sex scenes at all.
There's one furry character, and the main character can become a furry, but that's completely skippable and easily reversible.
From more obscure fetishes, there's breast milking and footjobs.

Great concept; will be interesting to see where it goes from here. Simple gameplay in virtual world. You can click and play, or once it gets going, just leave it running in the background to progress it.

If you look at this project as an Idle genre, it's not bad at all, but it's quite monotonous. There's a fair amount of sexual content, although it's not best quality , it's fairly diverse and provides a small incentive to unlock new levels. However, the main problem with the project is that you won't feel the proper reward for the time spent in the game. The absence of significant improvements to discover or purchase makes the process increasingly dull and unexciting.

I'll speak to more of the technical side.

Game is locked at 60/62 fps, with a hard enforcement you can't get around with console or ini changes. It's very stuttery on a high hz monitor as a consequence.

Even at the high setting, it's at 87% resolution scale, and it has the same enforcement as the framerate. Leaving an otherwise not badly performing game, looking very blurry.

While there's a tried game loop, and basics fleshed out, it's not really in a playable state unless you're playing on a 30/60 hz tv monitor and have bad eyesight.

EDIT:
Dev reached out, and has actually fixed everything i mentioned. Looks and plays a whole lot better from 0.9.5.6 on.
I think the game is heading in a positive direction, although there's still a little way to go.

I get the sense a more proper climax is being added in sex scenes, which really will do wonders.

It's still being developed. But i think it's fair to say it's certainly worth a try, and almost certainly will be by 0.9.5.7. As long as minigames are kept optional
I think it's gonna be a 5/5 when it's done. Dev doesn't strike me as a [Abandoned] tag. And he's seemingly focused on fixing bad things from feedback, and adding good things. It's so simple, but he's the only one i've seen who actually does it methodically.

The game has gone through many improvements since my last review and while I won't cover every change I will say it is vastly improved from what it once was. Shout out to the dev for reaching out to me about suggestions. Almost every thing I noted that needed to be worked on in my first review has been refined and improved. 4/5 recommend checking it out!

The only thing that makes this game stand out from others is its models; they are very highly quality and nice to look at. The dev spent a great deal of time working on them (or paid someone to do so) and it shows. However, that's all this game really has to offer.

Waifu Dreams City is a clicker game where you rack up money by shaking what your momma gave you on stage and using the profits (i'm assuming mostly one dollar bills) to upgrade yourself for more points per click or hire dancers which generate profit idly. I highly recommend you dance a bit then hire some dancers and upgrade them otherwise you will develop carpal tunnel. You can also earn (sex points?) another type of currency via sex acts with NPC's which can be used to upgrade your points per click and another upgrade which is useless (yay)! Even with the clicker upgrades it's still better to earn idle income as it is with most idle games.

Once you've racked up a constant source of income the real game starts! Sadly, there's not much real game to be found. There are NPCS you can interact with for sexual actives and the animations are quite nice but lack a climax animation for either party. So it's a 3-4 second loop of the same animation over and over as individual NPC's only have one animation. There are a few sexual animations which are nice but after about 10-15 minutes you've seen all you can for awhile.

As you upgrade your character you unlocks new areas (via the elevator) and new content but that can take awhile to get to as each level up takes more and more money as to be expect of a idle game. You also don't unlock new areas with every level up it's generally every 10 level ups. The new areas only unlock one new animation so an hour grind for one new thing; not really worth it. You are also able to change your PC outside of the building into preset characters. While they do look nice it would be nicer if you could customize your character fully instead of pre-built ones.

All in all there is some really good footwork already done but Waifu Dreams City is being held back by lack of refinement. 2/5 but could easily be 3/5 by just adding climax animations. Despite my complaints I still recommend you check it out just for the models.

P.S: Also don't bother using reflections if you can't make them look good.

He went into many things and fixed bugs. It's a kind of clicker game but with role-playing and a slightly open world where you can explore. As the level increases, additional items are unlocked. I think the clothing system is really great now^^ I think the idea and implementation is great and I'm looking forward to continuing to play that might make the world even bigger^^. The animations are well implemented. If you like a clicker with role play, you'll have fun here^^

Animations are stiffy, but not the worst I have seen.
Skin and hair shaders are rubber/plastic-ish look, but pretty fine.
Different kind of kinks for each floor, but more like teaser at current version.
